Current Rotation (Left To Right): 1. Way Of Wade 10 Low - Pixel - Size 12 2. Wade 808 4 Ultra - Family Love - Size 12 3. Lebron 21 - The World Is Your Oyster - Size 11.5 4. KD 8 - Easy Euro - Size 12 5. *GK* Kobe 5 Protro - X-Ray - Size 12 6. Lebron 20 - The Debut - Size 12
This post is gonna be VERY long as I am gonna give an in depth review/update on each shoe down to its break in, performance, fit/sizing, etc. I would be happy to answer any questions that anyone has for any of the shoes.
Before I get things started, for reference, I am 6'2, 235lbs. I am a shifty guard, however have gained some weight after tearing my lateral meniscus. I have regular width feet but an ever so slightly high arch. My TTS is 11.5. I also wear Move Game Day Pros and I do not feel any negative impact in terms of stiffness as my heavier weight is probably fixing that issue for me.
- Way Of Wade 10 Low These shoes are truly exceptional, excelling in traction, lockdown, cushioning, and court feel, making it nearly perfect for most players. However, for someone with my physical traits, there are minor drawbacks. The cushioning, while springy for many, didnāt deliver the bouncy feel I was hoping for, even after breaking them in, likely due to my weight. Additionally, the lacing causes pressure issuesāwhen fully tied, the overlapping rows press uncomfortably on the top of my ankle. Loosening them relieves this but compromises lockdown. Despite these issues, the shoe remains outstanding overall. For someone else with a similar foot type, I would reccomend going half a size up as these shoes fit extremely snug, and I could imagine my feet suffocating if I went TTS.
- Wade 808 4 Ultra These shoes feel generally great in all categories! I would say that for my specific playstyle, and physical traits, I find these on par with my WOW 10 Lows other that one thing in particular. The traction is sooooo so so so good. I find these more consistent on super dusty courts compared to the WOW 10 Lows, and on clean courts, I think the only shoes with better traction are possibly the Wade shoes with their GCU, or Curry's shoes with Flow. The cushioning of the 808 4 Ultras are thicker and more cushioned than I thought, which actually works in my favor due to my weight. Just like the WOW 10s, these shoes aren't as "bouncy" as advertised, however I generally find these a really fun shoe to play in. The outsole seems really durable, so sometimes I take theese outside (on a painted concrete court) and they hold up pretty well. After around 20 hours of ourdoor use, I am starting to see the loss of some tread in the forefoot. The main issue that I have with this shoe is the poor heel to toe transition. These shoes feel pretty similar to Kobe 9s in terms of heel to toe transition as they are extremely clunky. For people with no lower body issues, it should be fine, however this shoe wouldn't be my top reccomendation for people with knee pain as when doing heel dominant strides, you will really start to feel it after a long period of time. I went half a size up to size 12 as they don't sell size 11.5 for this model. There is definitely some extra space in the toebox, however I am having no issues at all with the fit.
- Lebron 21 I have heard a lot of really good things about this shoe in terms of every aspect. The traction is pretty good, the lockdown is perfectly as described, and the cushioning is great, but it is also definitely something that I need to talk about. To go more in depth, on clean courts, the traction is really really good, but as soon as I get on a relatively dusty court, these shoes slide soooo much. After wiping, the traction is average at best when playing on a dusty court. While this is an issue that affected me, I have heard that pretty much every single Lebron 21 colorway feels different in terms of traction, and lockdown. In terms of the cushion, people tell me that is really good, and I safely made that assumption before buying these as I pretty much see players of every position wear this shoe, but these shoes seem very stiff to me. With that said, I just need to also say that I haven't played a hardcore game in these yet, mainly just some pickup games. While that is the case, I have already played in these for around 20 hours and they feel pretty similar to when I first got them. I initially asked in a previous post if the cushioning setup feels like the lebron 20s, and while people say that they are nearly identical, I do not find that true at all. In terms of fit, I went TTS for 11.5, and for some reason, there is a crazy amount of extra space in the toebox. Because of this, there was a decent amount of heel slippage, but that went away after the heel padding broke in. Overall, the shoes are generally good in all aspects, but I am hoping they get better after a rigorous break in period, especially the cushioning.
- KD 8 I don't have much to say about this shoe, as these were a hand me down from my cousin who already played in these for 3 whole high school seasons. These are honestly just my beater shoe. If I am planning on playing outside, these are always my number one option because I don't really care what happens to these lol. In terms of the performance, the cushion actually feels really nice underfoot, and for someone as heavy as me, that is where the good things end. While they feel really comfortable when just standing, as soon as I actually start playing basketball, I can almost instantly feel stress on my knees, specifically my injured one. The traction is supprisingly good on clean courts, even though a large majority of the forefoot and heel outsole tread have dissapeared from the face of the earth. On dusty courts, I think you'd have better luck grabbing tread wearing only socks. I'm generally not gonna say too much about these as I doubt anyone is actually considering getting these shoes over anything new, and I am really just using these shoes with the hopes that they full length zoom unit stays alive for just a little longer before I get another outdoor beater shoe.
- GK Kobe 5 Protro I had many doubts about this shoe as they're not even legit, and I have never bought a pair of reps ever. I decided to take a shot and try it out. I just want to say that I was absoloutley blown away by the performance. The traction is phenomenal, and very consistent in all court conditions. I can definitely tell that the cushion is not the same as Cushlon 2.0, but it most definitely isn't bad. To me, the shoes honestly feel better than my Lebron 21s right now, and that is after a fairly short break in time on the Kobe 5s. I can feel the zoom turbo unit and I can actually feel a decent amount of bounce, more than any of the other shoes mentioned! While this is the case, the overall feel of the cushion still isn't as good as the WOW 10s or the 808 4s. Generally speaking, the shoes aren't too ideal for me due to my weight, but I cannot wait to use these when I lose the extra weight I gained. I went for a size 12 as there is no 11.5 available on the seller's website, and there is a normal amount of extra toebox space, but these shoes truly have the best fit I have ever had in any basketball shoes ever. While I have not owned a retail pair of Kobe 5 Protros to compare these to, I can say that these kind of feel like Ja 1s, but with a juicy zoom turbo unit, a better fit, and better traction.
- Lebron 20 Before I say anything, I find these shoe the HOLY GRAIL of all basketball shoes. I have never tried Kobe 6 Protros which people say are arguably the best basketball shoe of all time, so for the time being, I find Lebron 20s truly perfect. The current pair that I have is not originally mine though. I sadly sold my pair a while ago, and I ended up repurchasing a very used pair from someone for only $30 (absolute steal imo). I have a colorway with a translucent outsole, but they bite perfectly on a clean court, and very well on dusty courts. There was some sole separation when I got the pair, but I fixed it up with some super glue. The cushioning, while very broken in, is just as perfect as I originally thought. I can actually feel the Cushlon + heel Zoom unit compared to the super stiff heel cushion of the Lebron 21s. The 20s are by far the bounciest shoes I have ever played in by a longshot, much better than the WOW 10s, most likely due to my heavier weight feeling the Zoom Turbo + Cushlon in the Lebron 20s more than the boom + carbon shank in the WOW 10s. In my original pair that I had, I did not experience any heel slippage, or lockdown issues, however in the used pair that I got from somebody, the heel slippage is crazy. This saddens me so much becuase I found this shoe truly perfect, however the current pair I have feels really hard to play in because with every step I take, I just don't feel locked down, and can constantly feel the heel padding pushing on my heels. Generally speaking, if you get a brand new pair, and you think you may have a similar foot type to me, get these shoes over anything else if possible, it truly is worth it.
- How long does it take to break in the cushioning setup of Lebron 21s? I would love to hear peoples thoughts, especially with my colorway if someone happens to have it.
- I am considering getting a new pair of Lebron 20s in the same colorway that I originally had. If I get them, it basically guarantees that I will love them but the issue is they go for around $350 on stockx in my size before taxes + shipping and additional fees. I was also considering trying out GK Kobe 6 Protros as Kobe 6s are known to be bouncier than Kobe 5s, and if I already find my GK Kobe 5s pretty bouncy, I can imagine that the 6s will feel better. I have always wanted Kobe 6 Protros, and I feel like I would be more than satisfied with highly accurate reps to play in. Also, they cost around $200 total to ship to me. My question is, should I risk getting GK Kobe 6 Protros hoping that they are as good as real Lebron 20s, or should I play it safe and pay for the Lebron 20s which will most likely cost me around $400?

Like whenever I play survivor I have a youtube video/netflix or spotify open, do you guys do that at all? I notice it helps with the more boring side of survivor, doing gens, sitting on hook, or when I'm listening to music, all of the above plus it helps me in chases.
I don't do it when I play killer though, because there's almost never a dull moment when playing killer.
