Imagine a society where everyone is obsessed with appearances, where your worth is tied entirely to what others think of you. That’s the simplest way to explain Saudi society. And if, like me, you come from a tribal background, it’s ten times worse.
Now I live in the UK, and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. It was worth being disowned by my family to finally experience dignity and freedom.
If you’re in a similar situation, don’t wait. Apply for a visa. If you can’t afford it, reach out to organizations like Rainbow Railroad. Your life is important, and you deserve to live it fully. Don’t waste your time hoping things will get better where you are—they won’t. The only way to truly thrive is to migrate or seek asylum in a country that respects your humanity.

Everyone seems to be upset about this book and the way it was written , but I listened to it through Libby audiobook and actually enjoyed it. The love triangle was a little dragged out but I enjoyed the dynamic between Oro and Isla in the desert and all her interactions with Grim. I was a big fan of when Oro said "I ll believe you when you ll stop moaning my name in your sleep". I hope we see more of this side of Oro and less of hopeless romantic. I was not a fan of nightbane but enjoyed skyshade!
