Just need to have a rant. My wife and I put up our Christmas lights this year. And we put alot of time and effort into bring some Christmas joy to our neighborhood. But this evening we had one of our decorations ripped off our fence and destroyed. It's very disheartening to know that there are people out there that feel the need to just wreck something. I absolutely love Spotify wrapped. I joke somewhat truthfully that it is my favorite holiday of the year. I have a lot of fun sharing with friends, looking over my own trends, and going through the top 100 playlist they give you. I think it's a great idea and my usage of the app somewhat increases in anticipation of it (ie I use youtube and car CDs less because I want my music Spotify listening to be as accurate as possible)
Reddit recap is extremely depressing to me because even though I do use this website for practical reasons (and other lies I tell myself) I am very aware I have an addition to this website and there are more days than not where I'll scroll past the same posts 10+ times, refreshing constantly even though I've pretty much exhausted that day's fresh or interesting content.
From a business perspective - it seems like a shitty idea. Showing your best customers how much time they've wasted on the website seems very counter intuitive. Sure some things are kind of interesting, but overall it seems like it mostly helps heavy users see how big of a problem they have. I don't even want to look at mine.

I found an unusual correlation and wanted to get some feedback or insights. Here’s a summary of what I’ve done so far:
I divided the Ocean Niño Index (ONI) dataset (1950–2024) into periods when Mars was "in range" (Mars-Earth distance less than both Mars-Sun and Mars-Venus distances) and periods when it was not. The mean Niño Index is consistently lower when Mars is in range.
To ensure this isn’t simply due to seasonal variations, I compared the Niño Index separately for each month over the dataset’s entire timeline. The difference persists even after accounting for seasonal effects.
Could this correlation have a natural explanation? For example, could subtle gravitational or tidal effects from Mars affect ocean or atmospheric dynamics, or might this align with some other known climatic driver?
I’d appreciate any ideas or feedback.
