2024.11.26 10:20 Zaku71 I recently rewatched the first Souther vs Kenshiro fight: why did the latter keep trying to hit the former's pressure points even when it proved useless?
I recently rewatched their first fight and it was longer than I remembered. Kenshiro didn't fall immediately after the first few hits but continued to fight for quite a while. The problem is that he kept trying to repeatedly hit Souther's pressure points even when it proved useless! He didn't even try to use other techniques or just, well, hit him really, really hard. I understand the pride and honor of Hokuto blah blah blah at first, but why did he continue like that even when he was literally in mortal danger? (let's remember, up to that point only Shin before kidnapping Yuria had reduced him like this. Not even after the fight with Raoh Ken was in such bad shape).
What am I missing?

I (19m) have recently discovered the cause of my insecurities, being a people pleaser. Now, inherently, this is not a bad thing, it's just that when I feel as if I have stepped over their boundaries, I tend to feel a need to apologize constantly, even though they implied it was okay. For example: Just today, my partner in my college's model UN club (18F? I think 18) mentioned she was queer. Later I asked her to go further in depth in what she meant, and, even though she explained it in great detail, I feel as if I overstepped my bounds and barely retained what she said.
Just need some help with this as I have been doing this since middle school, maybe even elementary school. I understand that it might be a part of me, but I want to know ways to mitigate that idea.
