I’ve enjoyed seasons 1 and 2, plenty entertaining to me, but throughout the show I’ve just always had a weird feeling while seeing how the Midwest and its people are depicted. Especially as someone who was first a fan of the movie.
The Coen Brothers are midwesterners, they clearly have a love for the culture and place their grew up in, and it’s reflected in the movie. You can feel the affection in it, it is very clear the film was made with a love for the Midwest. There are good people, bad people, gross people, dumb people, everything in-between, and it felt like a whacky and theatrical, but authentic representation, made by people who cared about the place they came from.
The show, season 2 in particular, weird vibes… Very off putting to me. So many disgusting, stupid, heinous, and ridiculous people, everywhere. It felt like a satire, or a complete mockery of the Midwest. It’s like it it was written with disdain, a sneer, by somebody who views the culture as trash.
I think part of it might just be the target audience and formula for the show. Black humor, gross, raunchy, ironic, cynical, shock value, shock value, shock value. Reminds me of a lot of the stuff you see in the Boys, and other similar modern “black comedy drama/thrilleetc”. It’s far from what the movie was, made for a different audience with a different goal.
I can’t rant forever, it just bothers me, made me enjoy the season a lot less than I could’ve. Still thought it was wildly entertaining and liked it, but I felt weird watching it. Probably because it’s about a people/place/culture I care about, and I think the writing was pretty cruel.

Good evening, I am struggling to find solutions and guidance on this matter due to lack of experience.
We bought an ex-council flat where the Hammersmith and Fulham Council is the freehold. We applied for the (to refurbish the flat as was full of mice and to make it habitable + adding a toilet downstairs as our grandmother has Health issues and can't go to the only original upstairs toilet) in 2022 when we bought the house. At the time, the council timeframe to review the alteration proposed was 8 weeks. However, they took an unreasonable 12 months to address our first request and, in the end, returned with numerous demands and essentially denied our initial proposal for the works. As you can all imagine in the meanwhile the works have already been completed as we couldn't afford anymore to pay rent and mortgage at same time whilst waiting for the authorization. We thought of reaching out here because you might know someone (a legal expert) who could advise us on how to handle this situation. Or any of you could tell me if has had any similar situation with Council and know what is the best route to take from here. I need to understand what must be my next move? Contact the council and say that the works have been already made and take it from there or carry on and try to adjust the initial proposed drawings to meet their requirements proposed after the 11 months, so lost. From what I'm seeing most people usually hate happy couples as it reminds them of their loneliness, jealousy etc
But to me, it's heartwarming to see a couple that genuinely cares about each other and truly in love, it reminds me there's love and real connection in this world despite the chaos and the rarity, it gives me hope, a sense of positivity and beauty of companionship. Especially when they do activities together like playing games or having conversation for example, watching them share moments of laughter, support, and genuine connection reminds me and makes me appreciate of the depth of love that can exist in relationships.

I (31m) feel completely devastated. I feel betrayed on so many levels. The week after the wedding she lost feelings for me, she asked for space, I was in shock. The reason a big messy cloud of confusion…I tried to to be very understanding. She wanted to make things right again but she could not “trust” me again for how I broke her boundaries (which she did not explicitly vocalised) during the very stressful period prior to the wedding. I became very anxious, i felt like the ground beneath me was removed suddenly. She started to be very cold, avoidant and hang out with her friends to think about something else. I could not understand how she could “yes” on the altar for so ignore me after the wedding. Our families are in shock. My friends are in total confusion. Her friends are very supportive. I feel betrayed on so many levels. I started to be more anxious and jealous which led me to not respect her need for space. This escalated to the point where I was in constant need for her. She could not take it anymore and wanted to break up, saying we would never work this out and she would never have me as the father of her future children. This broke my heart in billion pieces. We talked for hours I begged her, she non-verbally accepted to work things out, but she was in desperate need for space, she packed and left our home to stay with her friend(girl). Now It has been 3 weeks with no contact, Im going to therapy to help my self but the betrayal is keeping me awake every night. I do not intend to contact her before she does because I am so deeply hurt.
But Im trying also to question. Is she depressed? Or just avoidant? Is she in the middle of a life-crises? Or is this just a simple f. you I don’t love you anymore.

11/26 5AM I had a dream today that I had a car full of chickens. I was parked on Linwood street and it was event time I believe. I had a few chickens in my car and I wanted to keep them. I didn’t wanna let them go. They could get hurt, but in reality, you don’t just let 6 chicken go in the wild of Somerville haha. Anxiety started to build up and as a the o let one go. It jumped out, ran to an opening jn a gate and squeezed through. After it squeezed through, I was wondering if it would get caught by a coyote or how it would survive. Then the chicken flew away. I was surprised seeing it fly so high. As it flew away, I wondered if it was flying north? South? Idk
I woke up and it’s 5am and had no gas in my car she car was running. I made it to the gas station and put some gas. I’m so baffled. First time having a dream about a chicken (that I could remember anyways)
