I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed and unsure about the best order to study them. Are there any recommended learning paths or sequences suggested for beginners?

2024.11.26 14:40 PhysicalClothes8504 New Scav AI [Discussion]

So ever since the zombies, this game has become almost unplayable for me. I cannot catch a break in pretty much any raid. I'm either catching goons/partizan every raid(goons not SO bad because they can be funneled and taken out fairly easy, but tiresome when its EVERY raid), scavs track me down no matter where I run to and hide to try and repack/heal, they spawn in a never fucking ending amount, or they literally shoot me through 15 lines of bushes, trees, counters, windows, whatever else. I killed Kaban probably 10-15 mins ago. Looted and gtfo. Ran to the building south of LexOs with the counter and hid behind it to repack and heal. I can assure you I was well hidden and though I am not across the map, I am well out of the conflict zone I was just in and away from dead bodies that scavs seem to be magnets to. As I am surv'ing I get shot at from freshly spawned and easily 50+ meters away scavs who have ZERO line of sight on me. I literally see bullets hitting the counter and going through it to hit me. I'm honestly getting so tired of scavs knowing exactly where I am at all times. It makes a game that is already semi-difficult almost fucking impossible to survive, especially when they made scavs incredibly more accurate with their shots. I can't even loot dead bodies anymore because if I sit in one spot long enough to search the 3-5 scavs that cluster fuck spawn in one spot, I get swarmed by 3-5 more in a never ending cycle. The game has turned into a "kill this person and run to the next spot, kill then run, kill then run" gameplay loop. I went from having fun with this game to not even wanting to play it anymore, tbh, bc it just causes endless frustrations. It's like they just took the zombie AI(which was complete garbage) and copy pasted it over to scavs. I know I can't be the only one who feels this way, right?

2024.11.26 14:40 EmploymentFlat692 Republicans Exhibit Higher Average Education and Reading Engagement Compared to Democrats.

The stereotype of Republicans being less intelligent or uninformed, often perpetuated by media and academia, contrasts with empirical data suggesting Republicans tend to outperform Democrats in political knowledge and reasoning tests. This divide is influenced by biases such as anchor, perceptual, and confirmation biases, which significantly affect voting behaviors.
Demographic analyses reveal shifting political affiliations with age. Younger voters predominantly identify as Democrats, but this diminishes as Republican affiliation strengthens among older demographics. Political engagement also rises with age, with older voters nearly twice as likely to participate in discussions and follow political developments closely.
Educational attainment further distinguishes voter groups. While Republicans historically achieved higher levels of high school and college education, Democratic women now lead in graduate degree attainment. Differences in scientific knowledge show Republicans excelling in basic concepts while Democrats align more with scientific consensus on contentious topics like evolution and cosmology. Ideological divides reveal conservative Republicans as the most educated subgroup, surpassing both liberal Democrats and Republicans.
This analysis underscores complex relationships between age, education, political affiliation, and media influence, emphasizing the interplay of demographics, education, and ideological subgroups in shaping voter behavior and knowledge.
Democrats often stereotype Republicans as less intelligent or uninformed. This is partly based on the level of liberal vs. conservative college faculty ratios and how the media portrays conservatives. For example:
· MSNBC anchorman Lawrence O’Donnell falsely claimed that Deutsche Bank documents would prove that Russian oligarchs co-signed a loan application for Donald Trump.
· CNN commentator Donna Brazile leaked primary debate questions to candidate Hillary Clinton. When pressed, Brazile denied her role.
· CNN’s Jim Sciutto, a figure investigated for breaches of journalistic ethics, falsely claimed that the CIA had withdrawn a high-level spy from Moscow due to President Trump’s reckless handling of classified information.
· CNN’s Anderson Cooper told a pro-Trump panelist, “If he [Trump] took a dump on his desk, you would defend it!”
· Security Analyst James Clapper, who has previously admitted to providing false information, claimed without evidence that President Trump was essentially a Russian asset.
· Although the policy of housing children crossing the southern border in cages was implemented during Trump’s predecessor’s administration, former CIA Director Michael Hayden compared Trump’s immigration policies to Nazi Germany’s death camps.
However, studies, such as NES surveys, consistently show Republicans outperforming Democrats in basic political knowledge and being more likely to answer questions about political systems and history correctly.
The impact of bias, specifically Anchor, perceptional, and confirmation bias has a huge impact on how people vote especially when mainstream media is referenced as a source. The United States currently has approximately 45.1 million registered Democrats compared to 36 million registered Republicans.
According to Statista, 39% of voters aged 18 to 29 identified with the Democratic Party, 29% identified as Independents, 17% as Republicans, and 17% remained undecided. There is a significant change in the 30–49-year-old range. 33% of voters identified as Democratic, 26% aligned as Independents, 28% as Republicans, and another 12% remained undecided. In the 50 and beyond range, 32% of voters identified with the Democratic Party, 24% identified as Independents, 37% as Republicans, and another 3% remained undecided.
Trend Analysis:
· Democratic Affiliation Declines with Age: The percentage of voters identifying as Democrats decreases from 39% among 18–29-year-olds to 33% in the 30–49 range and further to 32% in the 50+ demographic.
· Republican Affiliation Strengthens with Age: Republican identification rises from 17% among young voters to 28% in middle-aged voters, peaking at 37% in the oldest group.
· Independence Fades Over Time: Younger voters are more likely to identify as Independents (29%), but this declines with age, dropping to 26% and then to 24%.
· Political Decisiveness Increases with Age: The proportion of undecided voters dramatically decreases from 17% in the youngest group to 12% in middle age, and further to 3% among older voters.
According to research by Gallup and Pew, only 30% to 40% (13.5 to 18 million) of young adults aged 18 to 30 report being regularly informed or active in political discussions, compared to 60% to 70% (21.6 – 25.2 million) of adults aged 30 to 60 who closely follow politics.
Trend Analysis:
· Young Adults (18–30): Only 30–40% of this group is politically engaged, equating to about 13.5 to 18 million people.
· Older Adults (30–60): Engagement levels are significantly higher at 60–70%, translating to 21.6 to 25.2 million people.
Older voters are almost twice as likely to have a more informed understanding of the political climate and are less susceptible to the influence of propaganda compared to younger voters.
Educational backgrounds of voters:
Even though 39% of 18 to 24-year-olds (11.7 million) in the United States enroll in college after high school graduation, the college dropout rate among those students is 32.9% (3.8 million):
· 39% (4.5 million) full-time bachelor’s degree-seeking students fail to complete their degree (Education Data Initiative, 2024).
· 23.3% (2.7) of full-time undergraduates drop out during their freshman year (Education Data Initiative, 2024).
· Only 2% of college dropouts eventually re-enroll and complete their degree (Pure Life Adventure, 2024).
Younger and older Americans with advanced degrees reflect significant educational trends.
· The National Bureau of Economic Research shows that, as of 2022, degree attainment among U.S. adults aged 35 to 44 is at 53.2%, and for adults aged 45 to 54, it is at 50.8%.
The notion that political views tend to shift with age, particularly toward conservatism, is a well-documented phenomenon in political science. This trend is frequently attributed to life experiences, such as becoming a homeowner, raising a family, and achieving financial stability, which often heightens sensitivity to tax and economic policies.
Key Findings:
Education Levels:
· Republicans, particularly males, have historically achieved higher rates of high school and 4-year college diplomas. This advantage narrows when controlling for factors like income, race, and health.
· According to some surveys, Democratic women now lead in graduate degree attainment, although this is equal according to some datasets (e.g., NES vs. GSS).
Scientific Knowledge:
· On basic scientific concepts, Republicans slightly outperform Democrats. However, Democrats are more likely to align with scientific consensus on evolution and cosmology, where religious beliefs and empirical scientific data influence Republican responses.
Partisan Differences in Reasoning and Vocabulary:
· General Social Survey (GSS) data from reasoning and word tests suggest Republicans outperform Democrats.
Political Participation and Media Consumption:
· Republicans have historically demonstrated greater engagement in reading about political campaigns and following news coverage. Democrats, while consuming a broader range of media outlets, tend to show heightened political interest, particularly during periods when their party is out of power.
Education by Ideology and Party:
A pronounced divide exists within ideological subgroups: republicans are generally the most educated, outpacing Democrats and liberal independents in educational attainment.
Conclusions:
In the aftermath of the 2024 election, the debate surrounding voter education and informed decision-making has shed light on significant demographic, educational, and political trends. While Democrats often stereotype Republicans as less informed, empirical data challenges these assumptions, revealing nuanced dynamics across political affiliations, age groups, and educational levels.
Studies demonstrate that Republicans frequently outperform Democrats in measures of basic political and scientific knowledge, despite Democrats aligning more closely with scientific consensus in areas like evolution and cosmology. The influence of media bias, including anchoring, perceptional, and confirmation biases, significantly impacts voter perceptions and choices. Meanwhile, younger voters show lower levels of political engagement and education completion, contributing to generational differences in political behavior.
Age-related trends further illustrate how political affiliation evolves. Younger voters disproportionately identify as Democrats or Independents but shift toward Republican alignment as they age, often due to life experiences such as homeownership, family formation, and financial considerations. This shift is reflected in educational patterns, where Republicans, especially conservatives have historically achieved higher rates of diploma and degree attainment.
Media consumption habits also play a critical role. Republicans tend to engage more with campaign-specific media, while Democrats consume a broader spectrum of outlets but do so when their political party is no longer in power. Despite differences, older voters exhibit significantly higher levels of political engagement and understanding, often surpassing younger voters in their ability to analyze political narratives critically.
These findings underscore the complexity of voter behavior and the interplay of education, media, and age in shaping political knowledge and affiliation. As the political landscape continues to evolve, addressing biases and promoting informed civic participation across all demographics will remain crucial to the health of democracy.
Resources:

Note: I understand the significant impact that anchoring, perceptual, and confirmation biases can have on research outcomes. These biases can shape interpretations, influence data collection methods, and skew conclusions, making it essential to approach studies with critical thinking and rigorous methodology to ensure accuracy and objectivity.

2024.11.26 14:40 Pale-System-6622 How do Shias view Ottoman Empire?

I'm not a history student, but in my opinion shias were much safe under Ottoman Empire.
Also, Muslims were generally progressive at that time. With the inception of nation state, muslims became weaker as they started fighting each other. Under the banner of one empire, they were all one.

2024.11.26 14:40 colormeblind123 BEWARE OF SALES TACTICS AT KIA OF HOLLYWOOD, FL

I was shopping for an used car and found a low mileage, two year old car. The price tag online was $17,000, the car looked great and moved on to negotiate the final price. After waiting for nearly an hour for a simple breakdown of costs, I’m presented with a $25,000 bill.. In addition to the standard dealer fee, tax & title, they stacked another $5,000 in bogus fees. I realize that there’s consumers who don’t even read the print and fall for this, but it’s PLAIN THEFT! Before heading to a dealer, call ahead and verify the fees associated with the purchase on a particular vehicle, shop around, compare prices, ALWAYS NEGOTIATE FEES and don’t be afraid to walk away. I found a newer car (2025) with 910 miles at another Kia dealer in another county and paid $5000 less! It wasn’t easy, but online tools make it possible.
