2024.11.26 16:40 Ks917 Jeweler lost diamond
My wedding band is a thin gold band with channel set diamonds that belonged to my mom. The diamonds are pretty tiny, so probably not super expensive, but obviously something with a ton of sentimental value to me. I’ve worn it for years without issue. Recently, I noticed a crack in the band, so I took it to a local jeweler that does repairs in house to be repaired. I got a call from the store saying that they can’t fix it. When I asked why, the clerk told me that the jeweler didn’t say why, didn’t leave a note, and wasn’t there so she could ask him. When I went to pick up my ring, I noticed that one of the diamonds was missing. I pointed it out, and the clerk had me leave the ring so she could find the diamond.
I just got a call from the store saying they have my ring and a replacement diamond. After the way I’ve been treated, I’m concerned about accepting the replacement diamond they are offering even if it is very small. My thought is to ask for the paperwork for the replacement I’m being offered and take it to another jeweler for a second opinion. Is this a good approach? Should I do something else? I’m not very knowledgeable about diamonds, so I am just not sure how to avoid getting taken advantage of.

 | It's a long story. I was watching a german quiz-show. There are questions and audience tries to answer these questions by calling and they get a money prize in return. I realised that a word is used in a weird meaning. The announcer always says the word "Zuschlagen" when someone calls, which normally means to hit or close something with force but it can also mean to make use of an opportunity. So here the money prize and question is considered as an opportunity and when the audience calls, it makes use of that, and announcer says that word. That is a quite original and not common usage of language (btw german is not my native language but my research says so) and it is also quite sophisticated (at least for an ai). I asked first chat gpt what it meant, and it couldn't answer properly and just made some silly predictions. I learned what it actually meant through redditt and than explained that to gpt. It thanked and said that I completely have right. Than from another account, I asked the same question again and it answered directly correct. My entire life I’ve coveted everyone else’s bed, every hotel bed, every airbnb bed — with no idea why mine always felt off. Well, I can safely say, at the age of 38 I finally have the best bed!

Today i had a call with my psychiatrist (my dad didnt want to drive me to her) and she told me "you have too many problems to treat em" like wtf. What kind of specialist tells a 15yo kid that she has too many problems to treat? I knew im fucked up but god that broke me i swear to god. I just want to be normal, i held onto the last string of hope that i have a chance. And now a psychiatrist tells me i dont? A specialist of taking care of people with problems for a living? Telling me i have too many to take care of them? What the hell is wrong with me. Why cant i be normal. I got signed some shizophrenic meds (that arent even avilable in wholesalers) like god please i dont want to be this way. I wanted to get meds, get therapy, start LIVING for the first time in years, finish school, marry my boyfriend. And now i get to know that im too fucked up to heal? Whats the point anymore? My last hope was shatered. Whats the point in living if im too broken to ever get put together? Tears wont do anything i know, but i am crying. Wouldnt you? I just cant express how bad that made me feel. Theres no words for it really.
