A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Dialectica, Coleman, GLG, Guidepoint, and AlphaSuites. At first, I was hesitant because I wasn’t sure if these expert networks were legit. But I decided to do some research, and luckily, I came across this Reddit group, which gave me the confidence to give it a try. After all, it’s just an hour of my time.
Here’s what happened: Coleman initially offered me $850/hour, while Dialectica came in with $150/hour. Dialectica was incredibly quick to get back to me, so I decided to negotiate. I mentioned that another network (Coleman) had offered me $850/hour, and to my surprise, Dialectica bumped their offer up to $450/hour.
When Coleman reached out again, they told me that since I’d already accepted another offer, it would be a hassle for their client. They said they’d keep me in mind for future projects and wished I had been offered the same rate with them instead.
In the end, I decided to move forward with Dialectica. I completed the consultation, and guess what? I received the payment today!
I’m so happy I gave this a shot. This experience taught me to not be afraid to negotiate and to trust the process. If you’re considering trying expert networks, do your research, trust your instincts, and go for it. It could definitely be worth it!

2024.11.26 18:29 Lapis_Wolf What is a more plausible, natural way to introduce kemonomimi without going the magic, "a deity's custom/favoured species" or advanced genetic manipulation technology routes?
Basically, how do I have them make sense biologically? For those who are unfamiliar, basically humans with ears, tails and sometimes other features from other animals. Think of the typical catgirls in Japanese anime.
Something to keep in mind is I'm not sure if they would be different, albeit human related species if they share features from other non related species like tigers and wolves. Also, normally, two unrelated species in my world cannot make any viable offspring (either there is no pregnancy/birth or any resulting offspring is normally sterile with a few exceptions). How would such a species even come about in the first place naturally? There is no gene editing technology in my world and the kemonomimi would have existed for centuries to millennia at the present time.
Someone suggested before to use a retrovirus to transfer DNA. Would that make sense? Do you have any other ideas that biologically make sense?

Disclaimer: this is kinda depressing and a tad graphic.
I (21M) have had my gecko Hades since I was 9 years old. I go to school about four hours away and my little guy never travelled well and my apartment didn’t allow pets so I’ve had my family take care of him while I’m away for the past four years. I came home from school late yesterday and my mom told me that he had passed the night before. I found him laying in his rock hide very much passed. His tail was pencil thin and his spine was very much visible. His eyes were sunken in and I couldn’t believe he was gone. Especially since I was changing apartments and going to be staying up by school so I was going to have him with me for a while.
When I found him there was stuck shed over his tail and nose and mouth and there was bedding and substrate stuck over and in his mouth. My mom said that he hadn’t been eating much in a while before he passed. The cricket char had been cleaned so idk what happened there but the wax worms in the fridge were dated at August 22 and September 19. There’s another brand new container of 50 worms that has 53 worms in it so I doesn’t seem like it was touched at all.
I’m trying to not go accusing my family of anything and be wrong but to me it seems like he had been forgotten about. They’re also very adamant about not helping him remove shed even though he’s lost a toe in the past because of stuck shed. They also never sprayed his tank to keep humidity up so his tank humidity is just the inside of our Long Island home.
If people can offer any explanations of what happened to my boy please. I just want to know what happened to him because it doesn’t seem like it’s old age like my mom is telling me. He was 12 so not too young but also he’s never shown signs of health issues.
