As with most things, the opinions expressed in this post are my own. Consider this as just one data point, and not as a guide to your career.
I've been working in the Data/AI space for 5 years now and I've seen hundreds of starry eyed people wanting to work in A.I. because they want to work with the latest and coolest cutting edge technology. But I want to share with you a few reasons why A.I. is not a good career choice.

  1. A.I. positions could end up like the "data scientist" position. Looking at the history of the data scientist position, in 2010-2020, the hype around data science made it so that millions of people flocked to that position. Companies eventually realized that most them actually didn't need data science, and the impact of the position didn't always help them profit. The demand of the job has plummeted in recent years, leaving millions of aspiring data scientists unemployed or needing to pursue a different career.
  2. A.I. positions will be less than .0001% of tech engineering jobs. In the next few decades, the demand for software and data engineering roles will be much more needed at most companies that A.I. roles. Only a small group companies will a be pursuing A.I. initiatives, while the majority of companies will still need software and data engineers. But because 90% of tech news is A.I. related, there will be a massive influx of people trying to enter the space.
  3. The barriers to entry are huge. To pursue a career in A.I. and machine learning. A person's understanding of statistics and software engineering need to be extremely high. To get to that level of knowledge requires much more dedication and studying than most people imagine. Becoming a decent software engineer or data professional is already difficult for the average person.
Before you decide to pursue this as a career, it's important to consider some of the cons listed below. Perhaps consider taking a smaller step first and trying to land a job as a software engineer or data analyst. If you're already in a technical field, consider not putting all your eggs into one basket, and making sure you know enough skills to stay gainfully employed in the job market.

Vintage Cutty Sark model update Since the last update we've gotten the stand stained nicely. The biggest news though has to do with the progress of the bow.
During the drilling of the hole for the bowsprit we had a slight mishap where it drifted a bit to Port... Though a couple of redrills got a the hole closer to where we want though a little bit larger. we used a string attached to the starboard cathead to pull it back to starboard before filling in the excess space with wood putty and painting. We've also got the name and trim board put on along with their decals and the figurehead.
Though looking at it head-on it seems while drying the stem might have been slightly pulled starboard. Coupling that with a slight lean of the Sprint still to port and they don't line up perfectly.
I wonder if there's any advice you guys can give me to get them better aligned at this point? Or is it so small it's not really noticeable? Or could I fix it but it would take a lot of dismantling and then reputting together to properly do?

Does anybody else’s parents give non-stop unsolicited advice when you’re not asking for it? I could share a photo of air and their responses would be an explaination on why I should not breathe in THAT SPECIFIC air and there’s like a disconnect in what should be a conversation. Now that I’m a parent it’s even worse. I’ll share a photo of my toddler (just trying to include them in the day-to-day humor of toddlerhood with their grandchild) and they’ll respond “make sure she doesn’t make a habit of that,” or “uh oh that won’t be cute when she gets older, make sure to discipline” it just grates on me, honestly makes me want to not share photos of our life with them or update them but I don’t have social media where I post pics anywhere. I thought it was just my mom but my in-laws do it too, just non stop shitting on whatever it is that we’re sharing with them they feel the need to criticize or elaborate in some way that seems like an egotistical response when it should just be a light hearted exchange/update on our life. Anyways, sanity checking myself here and bitching into the void.

Daming questions na di agad nasagot ng kapatid dahil hindi ko siya na briefing regarding sa personal information ko, tumawag yung kapatid ko saken while nandun si agent. Kini-question ni agent bakit walang parking space yung area namin (meron naman parking area pero hindi mismo sa bahay namin, plan din namin magpagawa/bumili ng bahay in the future). Before: Sanwa JLX, red ball top. Yellow Seimitsu PS-14-Gs plus red/black PS-14-D
After: Seimitsu LS-56, PS-14-GN, PS-14-DN, all keikou yellow.
It’s more of a lime green and it pops.

2024.11.26 21:30 MordethKai Zoids Kai Tabletop Wargame now has over 170 units!

Excluding kits that are the wrong scale, extremely limited runs, and other outliers, the catalog for Zoids Kai has everything released before 2018. The next step is to add the modern Wild Zero Zoids. It still needs more playtesting and polish but so far the PvP campaign I've been running has been fun and addictive.
There's also a gentleman in the discord working on porting Zoids Kai to Tabletop Simulator. If anyone has experience using blender etc. I think the help would be appreciated.
