I went on a first date last week that was an absolute disaster. We didn’t click at all—awkward silences, mismatched energy, and at one point, they were on their phone for a good ten minutes. I walked away feeling pretty discouraged, especially since I’d been looking forward to it for weeks.
Ironically, I’d recently had a bit of financial luck and spent some of it treating myself to a new outfit for the date. Now I’m sitting here wondering if it’s even worth trying again or if I should take a break from dating altogether. For those who’ve had a bad first date, how do you shake it off and stay optimistic about meeting someone new?
Any advice on moving past the awkwardness and getting back out there would be really appreciated.
