Soft Music For Sleep

Although this deserves the upvote, this is not a real "sleep" functionality that we are used to. Our task gets executed after a certain time, but the thread itself never sleeps or waits. It just initiates another thread with a standing instruction to start after the given time. – SLEEP 5 was included in some of the Windows Resource Kits. TIMEOUT 5 was included in some of the Windows Resource Kits, but is now a standard command in Windows 7 and 8 (not sure about Vista). PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL For any MS-DOS or Windows version with a TCP/IP client, PING can be used to delay execution for a number of seconds. It is amazing to see people saying no without understanding what the OP wants. There are cases that you want a real sleep. I am now needing a real sleep to test the browsers behaviour of posting and receiving message between the top window and the iframe. Keeping it busy with while seems the only way. SELECT TEST_SLEEP(10.5) FROM DUAL but to work I need set grant of DBMS_LOCK to the owner of the procedure. Yes, sleep is probably the function of choice here. Note that the time passed into the function is the smallest amount of time the calling thread will be inactive. So for example if you call sleep with 5 seconds, you're guaranteed your thread will be sleeping for at least 5 seconds. Could be 6, or 8 or 50, depending on what the OS is doing. To sleep for one second or. TimeUnit.MINUTES.sleep(1); To sleep for a minute. As this is a loop, this presents an inherent problem - drift. Every time you run code and then sleep you will be drifting a little bit from running, say, every second. If this is an issue then don't use sleep. Further, sleep isn't very flexible when it comes to control. sleep. Sleep asks the program to wait, and then to do the rest of the code. There are two ways to use sleep: import time # Import whole time module print("0.00 seconds") time.sleep(0.05) # 50 milliseconds... make sure you put time. if you import time! print("0.05 seconds") The second way doesn't import the whole module, but it just sleep. You can't specify an exact sleep time in Windows. You need a real-time OS for that. The best you can do is specify a minimum sleep time. Then it's up to the scheduler to wake up your thread after that. And never call .Sleep() on the GUI thread. @TomWijsman Actually, this is a real, nicely blocking sleep;) I see no reason to use this, but it's a better sleep than setTimeout or setInterval, since they don't block execution like sleep does. – In one of my programs it has me create, I use the sleep function. In the book it told me to put #include <stdlib.h> under the #include <stdio.h> part. This is supposed to get rid of the warning that says "Implicit declaration of function 'sleep' is invalid in C99". But for some reason after I put #include <stdlib.h>, the warning does not go away..

every other year with the company this has been covered by lowes, as in work 4 nights, off 3 nights including the 8hrs holiday pay.
Assumedly, this would be the same with 4/10s. Work Sunday-tuesday, off wednesday for thanksgiving. OR work wednesday until midnight, also still lowe's paid 8hrs holiday.
We were just told we have to work friday if we want our full hours, and there will be no lowes holiday pay for us.
When did they take our thanksgiving pay away?

my dad just threatened to change our digital code lock on our front door so i can’t open it and not come back home just because i went to downtown with one of my friends to pick up a fucking package nothing fun, just an errand.
my bitchy mom jusr cant stop. everday she fucking curses at me for how i dress like girl????? i swear my whole fucking life shes basically controlled everything its frustrating.
this woman constantly threatens to turn off the wifi if i dont clean my room or literally do something as simple as not finishing my plate even if my stomach is basically hurting for how full i am.
shes torture, and evil in my eyes, my dad is worser im sure hes a corn addict and wants to cheat on my mom but cant for some reason.
they control literally everything i do every fucking thing the friends i have, the clothes i wear, the way i do my eyebrows its too the point my mom has taken my toothpaste and every fucking night i have to beg her to put toothpaste on my brush like a little kid (im 15 for context)
what do i do? i just cant stop living in this hell im literally depressed and suicidal its insane schools already worse that my fucking parents make it nonetheless worser.
any realistic advice? and yes ill run away when i turn 18 even tho my fucking mom says i cant until i get married to a big d man fuck me and my life i might overd**e tonight so thats fun yay.

I'm 5 days post laparoscopic surgery for the removal of endometriosis and an ovarian cyst. I think I may have BV and/or a yeast infection, which I've read is pretty common after surgery. My usual go-to is boric acid, but I'm wondering if anyone else has used these suppositories after surgery? I was told to wait 2 weeks for sex, so I'm assuming after 2 weeks it'd be safe. I do plan to call my doctor this week, but I'm not sure what their hours are due to the holiday.
