To preface this, my store has a lot of hatian people that work there. They all know English to varying degrees. Some know English well enough where you can have a full on conversation with them. Others really don't know any English at all.
I was working hba with some of the Haitians that don't really know english that well. I saw a customer come up to one of them and ask where something was. The Haitian didn't understand what they were saying, so I intervened and helped the customer find what they were looking for.
He says to me that he's glad that he actually found a person that knows English, and then goes on this rant about how everytime he comes to the store if he can't something he's looking for, he always asks a Haitian that doesn't know English. He then says that no one that doesn't know English should work at walmart.
He then says something really out of pocket. He says that he's glad Trump won the presidency since he will deport all of the illegal immigrants back to there home country and that real Americans can get their jobs back. I found that very racist. I guess he assumes every Haitian he meets at the store that doesn't know English is somehow an illegal immigrint.
I couldn't do anything but agree with him even though I didn't at all. He thanked me for helping him and then says we need more people like me working at the store that know English.
