I recently redid my book cover after some of you here saw it and told me it was too fantasy for my sci-fi novel. The Kindle version uploaded fine and turned out great, but the paperback version came out horrible after uploading.
After about 6 hours of struggle, I finally figured out how to get a PDF that was accepted by KDP (basically just uploaded my png to Canva and downloaded a flattened PDF from there). I didn't notice that the colors on the PDF had faded at the time cause my screen had gone into nighttime mode. But now that it's live on Amazon, it looks straight-up like an 80s sci-fi novel. The colors are faded and it even got a bit blurry.
Can anyone tell me how to generate a PDF properly? Or is this just something KDP does?

versuche mich so kurz wie möglich zu halten um schnell mit den relevanten Daten ans Ziel zu kommen.
Haus von 1971 erworben, bis auf die Zargen fast alles zu 80% in Eigenleistung kernsaniert. Die Zargen bewusst gelassen, da wir die Optik sehr mögen, die Türen hingegen sind schrecklich und nun fällig.
Folgendes Problem: ich finde keine passende Tür aufgrund der 3 Türbänder und der Position des Schließbleches. Die Tür hat ein Einheitsmaß.
Wie löse ich dieses Problem ohne die Zarge zu entfernen? Der Tischler wäre unfassbar teuer und wir möchten eine schlichte Variante wählen. Die Kosten würden explodieren, da ich dieses Prozedere an 7 Türen durchführen muss.
Danke im Voraus für alle Ratschläge.

2024.11.27 12:41 infernalSpy01 I’m in love with my close female friend and I can’t deal with it.
Yeah… as you can see from the title, I’m in a bit of a weird situation here. I (22M) have known my female friend, who I’ll call Grace (22F) for the past 3 years now. We met when we were both 19 and live close to each other, regularly meeting up with our other mutual friends. Grace and I are very close, with her telling me a lot about her personal life and with me reciprocating bringing us closer together as friends. But when I hear her talking to other guys on dating apps or making out with some other guy in the club, it makes me feel jealous about a girl in a way I haven’t felt like in close to in years.
I’ve only been head over heels for 2 girls in my life with the first being during my school days when I was 16 with my ex and when we broke up, I got over that within a few weeks. I’ve been in situationships with other girls before since then, we were never exclusive but it never bothered me if they got with someone else during that time. Which is why I’m so confused right now on why I’m feeling jealous about a girl I’ve never even gotten with. I can literally feel the jealousy in the pit of my stomach whenever she talks or makes out with other guys. Very very few things have ever induced that kind of emotional reaction from me in recent years and I don’t know what to do. She‘s made it clear in passing conversation that we were platonic, saying things like you’re one of my closest guy friends and I wouldn’t trade what we have for the world, which seemed wholesome at the time, but just hurts to think about now.
Plus as people, we‘re incredibly incompatible - I know for a fact that some of her behaviours like being somewhat emotionally volatile (crying a lot basically), lack of impulse control, being somewhat clingy are things I’m fine with as a friend, but I know would drive me insane as a boyfriend who likes a bit more space and not having to coddle someone like that - independence is important for me. So even with all of this rational thinking about how it would never work out between it, I still can’t get her out of my head and it’s been close to a year at this point. I think its the feeling of unattainability thats messing with me right now, all the other women I’ve spoken to are great and honestly if I hadn’t met Grace, I would have loved to date them, but there’s this mental block that stops me from doing so. I can’t even ask her out as it would completely destroy the very close friendship we have, the one on multiple occasions she’s told me how much she appreciates, as do I.
I actually had a short relationship lasting 2 months with this girl (2nd ex) during our 2nd year of uni, who ended up breaking up with me as she realised my actual feeling towards Grace. She realised I wasn’t there emotionally with her but instead hung up on someone else, which is honestly more fair, that was certainly wrong of me. I’m worried that as long as I know her, it may be a roadblock in any future relationship I have. So do I just cut her off? Suddenly or let her know the actual reason why I’m cutting her off? Do I just carry on and hope my feelings subside after a while? I’m just very lost so some direction would be great.
TLDR: I’m in love with my girl best friend who I haven‘t confessed so but I know she won‘t feel the same way. It’s crushing me inside knowing asking her out would ruin our very close friendship. So do I cut her off, carry on or something else?
