2024.11.27 13:40 Konjonashipirate How do you address your advisor humiliating you?
To make a long story short, my advisor has made a habit of asking me to repeat back to her what she's said. I feel humiliated and embarassed when she does this. She literally says, "now repeat back to me what I said" with no context about it being meant to be helpful. It's not done in a friendly way either.
This all began a year ago during one of my projects and it's escalated. At first, she only did it during our one-on-one meetings, then it escalated to during our weeky grad students meetings. And as of Monday, she's now doing it in front of everyone at our big lab meeting. It's a targeted behavior because she doesn't do it to anyone else.
I used to wonder if I was being sensitive but after it happened on Monday, the other grad students told me that it made them uncomfortable too. That validation prompted me to schedule a meeting with her to discuss the issue.
My advisor is a very socially aware person, so I'm having a hard time understanding how she doesn't see what she's doing as problematic. That further leads me to believe that she doesn't have respect for me as a lab member or person.
Has anyone experienced something similar? How did or how would you go about addressing it? My meeting with her is this afternoon. I have a plan for addressing the issue but I'm curious what others think.

Ο Επίσκοπος Λητής και Ρεντίνης Δαμασκηνός είναι εξέχουσα μορφή αγίου Ιεράρχου όχι μόνον του 16ου αιώνος μ.Χ., αλλά όλων των χρόνων της δουλείας, και ως εκ τούτου αποτελεί πνευματικό φάρο που κατέλαμψε το τότε πνευματικό σκότος του Γένους, δοξάζοντας και την περίφημη Επισκοπή Λητής και Ρεντίνης, η οποία κατέστη παγκοσμίως γνωστή χάρις σε αυτόν.
Γεννημένος περί το 1520 μ.Χ. στη Θεσσαλονίκη όπου έλαβε άριστη μόρφωση, ο άγιος μας - κατά κόσμον ίσως Δημήτριος - μετέβη νέος στην Κωνσταντινούπολη, όπου πριν το 1546 μ.Χ. έγινε Μοναχός της Αδελφότητος «τῶν Στουδιτῶν», λαμβάνοντας το όνομα Δαμασκηνός και την προσωνυμία «Στουδίτης»· ήδη ως υποδιάκονος, σπουδάζοντας στην περίφημη Πατριαρχική Ακαδημία, υπήρξε και περιφανής ιεροκήρυκας της Βασιλεύουσας, σπείροντας λόγους πλήρεις ωφελείας, οι οποίοι αργότερα αποτέλεσαν το υλικό για το βιβλίο του «Θησαυρός».
Μεταξύ των ετών 1550 μ.Χ. και 1558 μ.Χ. ο Άγιος Δαμασκηνός δραστηριοποιήθηκε στην περιοχή των Τρικάλων, πιθανότατα ως Διδάσκαλος της εκεί Σχολής, και πριν το 1558 μ.Χ. έλαβε την Ιερωσύνη. Στο ίδιο διάστημα μετέβη και στην Βενετία για να τυπώσει τον δημοφιλή «Θησαυρό».
Το 1560 μ.Χ. στο Ναό των Αρχαγγέλων («Ροτόντα») της Θεσσαλονίκης ο Ιερομόναχος Δαμασκηνός χειροτονήθηκε Επίσκοπος «Λητῆς καὶ Ρενδίνης» από τον Αρχιεπίσκοπο Θεσσαλονίκης Θεωνά (τον προ του 1560 – 65 μ.Χ.· δεν πρόκειται περί του γνωστού αγίου).
Παρά το ότι ο Άγιος Δαμασκηνός ήταν μόνον Επίσκοπος, ωστόσο δεν έπαυσε να διαλάμπει με τον συνδυασμό της λαμπρής παιδείας του και της άμετρης ταπεινοφροσύνης του. Ο Γερμανός θεολόγος Στέφαν Γκέρλαχ (1546 – 1612 μ.Χ.), μολονότι εχθρικός προς την Ορθοδοξία, επιβεβαιώνει ότι ο Λητής και Ρεντίνης Δαμασκηνός ήταν ένας από τους τρείς πιο μορφωμένους Ορθοδόξους Κληρικούς της εποχής του και από αυτούς ήταν ο πιο επαινετός «λόγῳ τῆς ἰδιαιτέρας μετριοφρο-σύνης, ὀλιγαρκείας καὶ τῶν ἄλλων ἀρετῶν του».
Λόγω των χαρισμάτων του αυτών ο Άγιος απέλαυε της εμπιστοσύνης των Πατριαρχών για σημαίνουσες αποστολές ως Έξαρχος, όπως στο Άγιον Όρος (1567 μ.Χ.), αλλά και στη Μικρά Ρωσία (Ουκρανία), όπου στα έτη 1565 - 1572 μ.Χ. ο Δαμασκηνός συνετέλεσε αποφασιστικά στην κατανίκηση της αιρετικής ρωμαιοκαθολικής προπαγάνδας. Αργότερα, κατά την Πατριαρχία του Ιερεμίου Β΄ του Τρανού (†1595 μ.Χ.), ο οποίος ήταν μαθητής του Αγίου, ο Δαμασκηνός έλαβε μέρος στην σύνταξη της πατριαρχικής δογματικής απαντήσεως (1572 – 73 μ.Χ.) στους Λουθηρανούς Προτεστάντες της Τυβίγγης, διετέλεσε δε και τοποτηρητής του Θρόνου στην Κωνσταντινούπολη επί αρκετούς μήνες, κατά την απουσία του Πατριάρχου.
Το 1574 μ.Χ., ο Άγιος μας προβιβάσθηκε σε «Μητροπολίτην Ναυπάκτου καὶ Ἄρτης καὶ Ἔξαρχον πάσης Αἰτωλίας» ως Δαμασκηνός Γ’ ο Στουδίτης, θρόνο που υπηρέτησε επί δύο περίπου έτη, μέχρι το 1576 μ.Χ., όταν συγκαταλέχθηκε μεταξύ των λογίων του Πατριαρχείου Κωνσταντινουπόλεως.
Λίγο αργότερα, το σωτήριον έτος 1577 μ.Χ., εκοιμήθη εν Κυρίω και ετάφη στη μητροπολιτική του περιφέρεια, στη Ναύπακτο ή την Άρτα. Επίγραμμα αναφερόμενο στον Άγιο, πλέκει τον έπαινό του, χαρακτηρίζοντας τον Δαμασκηνό ως «σοφία τῶν Ἑλλήνων» και τον θάνατό του ως κακή στιγμή, η οποία άφησε τους φιλέλληνες ορφανούς: «Ἑλλήνων μὲν τὴν σοφίαν βαρὺς ὤλεσεν αἰών. Ὃς δὲ φιλέλληνας πάντας ἀπωρφάνισεν».
Στα συγγράμματά του, εκτός από το βιβλίο «Θησαυρός», το οποίο εκδόθηκε πάμπολλες φορές (51 περίπου φορές μέχρι το 1926 μ.Χ.) και που μαρτυρεί τα γνήσια μοναχικά του βιώματα και το σέβας στην Ορθοδοξία και τους Αγίους Πατέρες, συμπεριλαμβάνονται διάφορα κείμενα, όπως Κανόνες προς τιμή του Νεομάρτυρος Νικολάου (†1554 μ.Χ.) (βλέπε 14 Φεβρουαρίου), ποιήματα προς τιμήν της Παναγίας σε ομηρική γλώσσα, μία Παραίνεσις προς Μοναχούς, και άλλα, όπως σύγγραμμα ζωολογίας και έτερο μετεωρολογίας, που πιστοποιούν την ευρεία παιδεία του. Ο Άγιος Δαμασκηνός πρέπει να υπήρξε διδάσκαλος και ενός από τους τελευταίους Στουδίτες, του Οσίου Διονυσίου του «Ρήτορος» (†1606 μ.Χ.) (βλέπε 9 Ιουλίου), μετέπειτα ασκητού στη Μικρά Αγία Άννα του Αγίου Όρους.
Παρά τη λιπαρή του παιδεία, χάρις στην οποία κατείχε άριστα την ομηρική και την αττική διάλεκτο, ο Άγιος Δαμασκηνός ο Στουδίτης, Επίσκοπος Λητής και Ρεντίνης, έγραφε και σε απλή και καθαρή Ελληνική γλώσσα για τον απλό λαό της εποχής του, που είχε πολλή ανάγκη της «στερεᾶς τροφῆς» του λόγου του Θεού. Ο «Θησαυρός» του Δαμασκηνού υπήρξε το πιο διαδεδομένο στον τομέα του βιβλίο και ενίσχυσε το δούλο Γένος στις θλίψεις και τα μαρτύρια. Η προσφορά του επεκτάθηκε όταν μεταφράσθηκε και στα τουρκικά (1731 μ.Χ.), για τους τουρκόφωνους Ρωμηούς, στα σερβικά (1580 μ.Χ.) και τα ρωσικά (1656, 1715 μ.Χ.). Ιδιαιτέρως στη Βουλγαρία θεωρείται ότι η μετάφρασή του (Δαμασκηνάρια) απέτρεψε τον εκτουρκισμό των Ορθοδόξων Βουλγάρων.

Hey 👋 I know this is very cliche, but I'm looking for a vegetarian diet of 80 gms of protein per day distrubted in 2-3 meals a day with roughly 1500-1700 Kcal (on a deficit now)
I've recently turned vegetarian not vegan, and am open to paneer and whey protein ( optimum Nutrition whey)
I am 18M.
Also which is a decent brand of paneer for protein, I've been eating amul paneer for a while.
Feel free to share recipes that are easy to make, take less time, and can be done with minimum equipment.
