2024.11.27 15:30 yokai_nate AIO for not wanting to stay at my parent’s house for the next week and Thanksgiving because of a certain person.
I live at home. For the next several days my father is allowing his half brother to come stay and celebrate Thanksgiving. My issue is that well, he’s a predator. It’s been reported and all that, but I never really pursued it because well I can’t really explain it. I refuse to stay or be at the house all the while he is there. I’m not afraid, but utterly disgusted. What bothers me the most is that my father especially allows him to be there. I feel pretty disappointed. Like it’s not a serious issue to him. I understand it’s his house, but this kind of stuff shouldn’t be dismissed. However it is, by everyone who knows. I know this is wrong, but I almost feel brain washed. Like I should sweep it under the rug too. I don’t have much money so I’m planning to just stay in my car during that time. I’m already going through so much. Now this.

2024.11.27 15:30 anony2389 Regular Roth IRA or Backdoor?
I have been contributing to a Roth IRA all year. I still have about 3k remaining, and just realized I’ll be over the income limit to contribute for the year.
Am I better off putting the remaining 3k as I have been and doing a recharacterization during tax season, or should I do the remaining 3k into a traditional IRA and convert it now.
Both will work fine but I’m wondering if one is going to be more beneficial headache and tax wise?

I'm making pigs in a blanket for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Can I make them today and cook them tomorrow? I'm using regular crescent roll dough in a can and cocktail Franks. Can I wrap up the pigs and put them on a pan and store it covered in the fridge or will something happen to the Crescent dough?

i’ve worked at hot topic for a year now and it was going great when i first started, now higher ups have not only piled more work on me and fellow employees but also our managers, i’ve seen 3 managers quit, countless other associates and even a store manager leave and im tired of all the stress.
it is currently november almost december and i have a small window of putting in my two weeks before the dreaded blackout month.
how do i put in my two weeks formally and with no disrespect?
is there any specific things i should do beforehand or do i just say it and will they be mad at me for resigning a week before the blackout month

Lately, I’ve been seeing a ton of hype (and fear) around how generative AI is going to “revolutionize” digital marketing.
On one hand, it seems like a dream for marketers—more efficient, less grunt work, and insane creativity at the click of a button. Why hire a whole team when you can have AI pump out SEO-optimized blog posts, create ad campaigns, or even handle customer inquiries? On the other hand, this feels like the beginning of a massive job displacement wave.
If businesses can get results faster and cheaper using AI, are we looking at the eventual death of entry-level marketing jobs? Is the “human touch” even something consumers care about anymore?

I barely know how to use Reddit so please be patient with me. Driving my car the other day and out of nowhere the entire vehicle starts reeking like burnt skunk. That’s the only way I know how to describe it. It permeated the whole vehicle. I did not hit anything, I am certain of that. The smell has ruined my car. Everything in it including my kids car seats need to be thrown out. My mechanic says he has gone over it with a fine tooth comb and can find nothing that would cause an odor like that anywhere. I’m scared to drive it because google says odors in vehicles can be toxic. Any idea at all what this could be? Or how to get rid of it? 😩
