2024.11.27 15:50 SecretaryExternal220 Mushroom in my string-of-pearls??
Is this a mushroom? If so, what kind and should I be concerned? Found growing in my indoor string of pearls which I bought in September at a local nursery. Broke off when I tried to handle it because it was very brittle but see the rest of the stem in 2nd pic. Maybe shouldn’t have handled the unidentified mushroom…. I’m in Minneapolis Minnesota if that helps. submitted by SecretaryExternal220 to mycology [link] [comments] |
2024.11.27 15:50 Rgl143 Need opinion on what volumes to buy
Wondering if its better to buy 63 (Obito reveal) or a 3 in one 61-63, OR 64-66
Not too sure if what happens after the fact is cooler than the before. Obito is my favorite character so im tryna catch his reveal (but wondering if the 64-66 has cooler events)

2024.11.27 15:50 Last-Dentist-2 Using MacOS and Windows for different Js, bad idea?
I was let go from J2 and am currently looking for another one, but this time, I'm thinking about asking for a Windows laptop instead of a Macbook (like J1). There are clear advantages from using two Macs side by side; they truly work as one, but there are also some advantages from having access to a Windows computer, which I don't currently own. Should I ask for a Windows machine for the next J2, or should I keep the Js on the MacBook side and just use the extra money to buy a gaming pc? That would mean having three computers, which sounds cumbersome, but it might work better in the long run.

2024.11.27 15:50 Morning_lurk Having impostor syndrome because you weren't allowed to be disabled as a kid
[CW: parental neglect]
Not sure if this belongs here, but I wonder if other people have had this experience. I struggle to see myself as truly disabled due to childhood conditioning, which is shocking to a lot of people who know me and see how limited I am by my body.
I was raised by a single mom who was incapable of raising a disabled child, since she could scarcely raise what she assumed to be a fully-abled one. So I had to be not-disabled so I could take care of her as much as possible. When I would get hurt and ask to see a doctor, she would get angry if I didn't have a broken bone, and all my sprains, strains, and hyperextensions were considered ploys for attention. She had this idea in her head that I enjoyed making her life harder by wasting her money for fun. It somehow never landed with her (and therefore with me) that all those injuries were real and actually needed treatment and should have been considered in the aggregate at some point.
I was declared disabled in my late 20s and granted SSDI on my first application. That fact alone should tell you that my disability was real. People who have lived with me can confirm that it's real. But still, I couldn't quite understand myself as a disabled person, because I was trained not to see myself that way. I was taught not to notice my own limitations, and to berate myself for everything I couldn't do. If I couldn't do something, I just wasn't "trying hard enough", see?
Two decades later, I'm scrabbling to hang on to what limited functionality I have, and it's becoming obvious that not only am I truly disabled, but I have always been disabled. I was born like this. My physical dysfunctionality was just one of the myriad things my mom didn't - and couldn't - notice about me. For the last 10+ years I've needed surgery once a year on average. I've had four surgeries on the same foot in as many years, because it turns out that sprains don't go away if you ignore them and can eventually tear an entire foot and ankle down around them.
I told myself for years that I was a fraud; that I had scammed the system, but I was not, and I had not. I could still use my hands... until they suddenly decided to stop complying with what I asked them to do. I could still walk just fine, and then I could still walk, and then I could still walk with a lot of bracing and support, and now I can barely walk with a lot of bracing and support inside the house.
It's only starting to dawn on me that I was never a fraud. The fraud was the person who brought me up and told me I was just lazy and entitled, because she couldn't see past the end of her own nose. The fraud was the able-bodied person who needed her injured 12-yo kid to bring her coffee and the paper in bed every morning, and would relax while I made my own breakfast, packed my own lunch, and got myself to school. Going NC about eight years ago gave me the space to come to terms with what's happening to my body, and the reality of how unfair this whole thing is. Sadly. the struggle to accept my physical troubles as legitimate is ongoing.
Can anyone else relate?

2024.11.27 15:50 Sweaty-Pin-1487 Personality Traits represent what a character believes is best behavior, not just what they practice
It seems to me that personality traits are really just like personal virtues.
What I mean is that, rather then just being descriptors of your characters personality, they instead represent your characters priorities and ideals. That's why you gain or lose stress depending on whether you follow them, because of the regret or satisfaction that comes with the how you conducted yourself in hindsight. Like with calm vs wrathful, a wrathful character might regret not laying into someone harder, while a calm character might regret losing their temper.
Personality isn't meant to suggest how a character will always act, it is meant to suggest how they want to act, provided they are in their right mind, and weighed against the consequences. So that is why a character would feel guilty for not acting according to their personality.
All of this is supported in game by how children actually gain personality traits, they are presented as formative childhood events where with or without the interference of their guardian they come to a certain way of thinking that sticks with them the rest of their lives, in each case there are different lessons they can take away.
The reason why I say all of this is to do with custom characters. When making a custom character you might consider giving them personality traits that represent what they consider to be correct behavior, and consider how they came to think like that, rather then doing it the other way around and picking personality traits that justify whatever behavior you are most going to do.

2024.11.27 15:50 Sea-Remove6034 Is there Mythic Unique equip limit?
So, I had a string of incredible luck the other night running T4 bosses and picked up multiple mythic uniques. Specifically I picked up Heir of Perdition and Shroud of False Death. I tried to equip them both on my Spiritborn only to find it will only allow me to wear one or the other. I flipped them over to my rogue and tried again. I could equip them both no issue. 2 different mythics. Can equip them both on one character but not the other. Any thoughts?

2024.11.27 15:50 Guyzor-94 A new meme reply for any trolls, or 7th legion players on here.
I was pretty blown away by how well this worked. Someone posted some images of their death guard a few days ago, in one of them he'd used an AI photo app where it turns a photo into a clip that's a few seconds long. You just upload an image and type a few prompts. I'm pretty anti AI, as it goes.. but for dicking around its quite fun. submitted by Guyzor-94 to Warhammer30k [link] [comments] |
2024.11.27 15:50 sweet-459 CS2 is blatantly obviously rigged.
A no skill team with 50-200 hours on the game magically dominate the second half of the game every match.
They don't check corners, don't pre-aim, don't know how to control their sprays not even in the slightest bit, can't step, shoot YET they somehow magically turn the game over in the second half. Its so obvious to anyone who played CS:GO back in 2015 as it wasnt like this.
Through the course of the match you kinda knew your opponent skill level and expected results according to that, back in the days. Some players were better, they had better scores, you instatly knew who were the better players on the team.
Now its completely random, the weakest players in the enemy team score insane one taps, their sprays always land a 1 tap headshot magically and come out of every 1:1 on top. Every match.

2024.11.27 15:50 Prior-Gazelle-3676 Bullies Have no Empathy
How can people be this evil? How can they lie, cheat, steal, and slander without remorse. They are so full of hatred and ugliness.
My bully takes pleasure in bullying me and publicly humiliating me. But she would instantly cry and play victim if DARED to insult her back. And soon the entire office would know and I'd be called a horrible person.
Because these people are so heartless and selfish, I think they assume others are just like them. So when I'm nice to my bully, buy her soda, offer to stay late, and cover for her. She instantly assumes that I'm just as "fake" as she is. I even initially thought this woman was a nice person. I felt sorry for her.
I don't think people fear bullies. I truly believe people pity them. And they use this to constantly play victim. People emphasize with an underdog or someone who they perceive as underprivileged, especially in cases where there's a clear power imbalance.
My bully is a sad sight to see. She has a plethora of health issues, a limp in her 40s (she can't even walk down stairs- she has to use the elevator), has a bunch of kids, has a HS diploma, and is working the job as 20 year olds. She always talks about her sick uncles and asks us to pray for them. She also talks about how she's had weight loss surgery, yet she's still extremely overweight somehow
This woman has caused numerous people to quit. She spends her entire day just bullying and harassing people. But all the old people working here think she's so nice. Because she has pictures of her kids all over her desk and talks about her issues all the time. She's an absolute monster though.
I don't understand how you can be so cruel and evil towards a person who is nothing but kind to you
