I have no known name, place of birth, country of origin or any useful information on my paternal grandfather what so ever.
My father was adopted and I want to try and find his father for him.
I’ve found his mother but it seems she wants no contact so I can’t get any info off of her unfortunately.
My closest DNA matches are 3rd cousins, all of which are ‘unassigned.’
Is it too long of a shot or do I have a chance?
I’m not really sure what I’m looking for or how to read other users trees. Plus this whole half cousin stuff is confusing the life out of me as much as all the usual 3rd cousin or 2nd cousin once 2x removed stuff…
I know it’s highly unlikely I’d find HIM but I’d ideally like to at least find someone who can tell me about him at the very least.

I 21 F am a first time mummy. I’ve always wanted to a be a young mother and I’ve always had strict boundaries when it comes to my parenting. Some of my rules is that one your not to smoke or vape around my child two you must wash your hands before holding my baby and three under no circumstances are you to kiss my baby anywhere on his body. I’ve always had these rules ever since I started thinking about baby’s at just the young age of fifteen but I’m now backed up by science behind my rules. Since announcing my rules to family members asking them to strictly obey them and respect me as a mother and my choices as a mother I’ve been disrespected time and time again and my son isn’t even born yet! I’ve been called pathetic,stupid and selfish. I’ve even been told that I’m stoping my family from “bonding” with my son through kisses and cuddles. I’ve tried to explain time and time again why my rules are the way they are and I’m met with the same attitude every time. I’m often laughed at and called pathetic or stupid and I’m told time and time again that there’s generations of kids that got kissed when they were born and they were “fine”. I’ve tried my hardest to explain but not a single member of my family seems to want to just except my rules instead they try to guilt trip me or make me question wether or not I’m doing the right thing. I know in my heart that as a mother it’s my duty to keep my child safe no matter how “ridiculous” I may come across so I’ve told them all that they are banned from seeing my son until they can be trusted to follow my rules and now I’m getting nothing but abuse. I feel terrible because a lot of my family members have helped me out with getting my baby the things he needs. So AITA for banning them or am I doing what’s right?

2024.11.27 17:40 the-seekingmind The Importance of Remaining Patient - This Needs to be Understood! - (A Reminder to myself and others.)
Sorry to share another borderline rant, but I feel this needs to be said.
Patience on this pathway is absolutely fundamental and crucial.
I was reminded of this today, when I looked at a list I had written, all the way back in the middle of 2023. (The list I wrote, was inspired just to say, by the fantastic short book by RHJ called 'It Works!', I highly recommend everyone reads this book.)
Now, I remember checking this list at the end of 2023 and I was a little dismayed as I noticed that many of the things on my list had not come to fruition. I even felt at that moment in time, that my list had been an epic failure. But anyway, long story short, today, a year and a half on from when I originally wrote this list. I referred back to my list again and was quite astonished to see, that suddenly I was on the brink of achieving many of the desires I had written down about a year and half ago.
Now, what lesson did I take from this?
That patience is absolutely fundamental on this pathway. Some desires will take slightly longer than others to come to fruition and thats absolutely fine. I just keep asking for what I want, focussing on the end I want to happen and I will remain patient, knowing God will provide me with exactly what I asked of him.
I hope this post serves as a reminder, that patience is a virtue and once you have asked for what you want or visualised what you want, then you simply MUST sit back and patiently wait for it to arrive, whether it's in 24 hours or the next two years, you remain undisturbed, you know it is yours and will be yours.
I understand that we live in a very impatient society in the modern day, a society that expects everything to happen almost instantly. A society that instantly cries and becomes dismayed if they have to wait more than 24 hours for what they want to occur. Just know though, that this modern day instant gratification society mindset is of no use to you on this pathway in any shape or form!

I lost my dad 5 days to my interview, my lawyer refused to follow me and my husband to the interview. The grilling at the immigration office was too much. The woman was yelling at I and my husband, my husband saw me shaking and tried to calm me the woman told him not to touch me and my husband almost got pissed. Audioh is the world's first Audiobook club app (we think)
We're trying to get some feedback on some things we're currently building, to see if you would like them yourself.
Here is what we are launching next week:
- Audiobook Clubs: You can create or join an audiobook club. As a member, you can join the book club and join different group chats to discuss the book. As a book club owner, you can create a book club, select a genre and schedule a book for your club to read.
- ReadWithMe: This function is essentially mini bookclubs. You and your parnter, or you and your group of friends can make a mini book club to listen to books, have group chat to discuss, and even leave Audiobook marks in book timeline.
- Audio Bookmarks: We love the idea of reading together - so you will be able to leave bookmarks while reading. These will start off text based, but we will eventually support video, audio, and pictures/drawings being left in the timeline of the book. We'll give you control to let someone see all bookmarks - but we will also allow you to restrict someone to reach that point in the book before they can see your bookmark.
---For Audio Bookmarks - we're imagining you reading with your partner, and you happen to be 2 hours ahead of them. You want to talk about a moment in the book - because it was shocking - but you don't want to spoil it. So you leave them a bookmark in Audioh, and when they get to that point in the book they unlock that bookmark. What do you think? Cool?
- Sharable TBRs - We are allowing you to follow other users and create/share private or public TBRs.
