While planning my wedding, my husband told me his father would not be able to make it because he had a record in his home country and was unable to cross the border without appealing and overturning his record. I tried to ask what his father's record was and he said he didn't remember. A few months after the wedding, I was pregnant and had some concern that maybe his father's conviction involved children. I went to google and found news articles that my husband's father was sentenced for sexual assault of a minor. The news reported that my now FIL developed a relationship with a 15 year old while he was in his 50s.
I told my husband that I found the articles and suddenly my husband's memory fog lifted and he told me he didn't think his father was guilty of the crime and only plead guilty to protect the teenager from getting repercussion for lying about a crime. After discussing this news with my therapist, I talked with my husband about instituting a rule that our child will not be left alone with any person that has been found guilty of assault of any kind.
Because my husband was not honest with me, I suspect he has a want to protect his dad or even hide his dad's record. I am concerned that my husband has a weakness for his dad and wouldn't respect the decision to have our child monitored around her grandfather. I only feel this way because he wasn't upfront with me. And maybe he truly does not think his dad was guilty, despite his dad plead guilty to sexual assault of a minor.
I'm stressing about this because my husband refuses to talk about it. I tried to share this with ChatGPT and it was kicked back for violating the rules. I can hold space for my husband's desire to protect his dad's reputation. I am not letting go of the fact that my husband is playing off as if he had no memory of his father's trial and incarceration for sexual assault of a minor. I don't believe him and I think he lied to me by claiming he couldn't remember. Sure, he may have tried to wipe the memory, but I don't believe he couldn't access it when I directly asked him "why does your father have a record preventing him from crossing the border?"

I posted about this before but I've learned some more information and I'm a bit concerned about the safety of a contractor who works on my house. I live in New York State, where it's legal to remove asbestos from your own home yourself, so long as it is disposed of properly.
This contractor has been working on his own house and he told me he removed asbestos pipe and boiler insulation without much precaution in place (this led me to unearth that video I posted earlier that purported to show how to "safely" remove asbestos insulation). He just smashed the asbestos insulation off the boiler.
I tried to indicate that he should probably be more careful but he told me he's done this tons of times and isn't that worried about it.
Should I try harder to warn him? I'm pretty concerned. I'm also sorta concerned about cross contamination when he's at my house, although he does use a certified HEPA vacuum to clean up big messes like these.

Salut tout le monde, Un concert d’un artiste que j’aime beaucoup en France a été annoncé récemment, et je voulais absolument y aller. Ma sœur a réussi à prendre des places pour moi, ma copine, ma cousine et une pote à elle. Tout semblait bien se passer, mais ce matin, je me suis réveillé en apprenant que ma cousine avait réussi à avoir 3 places en carré or : une pour elle, ma sœur et moi.
Quand j’ai expliqué la situation à ma copine, elle m’a reproché de ne pas être sérieux, disant que ça ne se fait pas parce que je n’ai pas de place pour elle. Sauf que je n’y suis vraiment pour rien : je ne savais même pas qu’on allait me prendre une place en carré or.
J’ai essayé de rassurer ma copine en lui disant que j’allais voir si ma cousine pouvait me vendre sa place (elle travaille ce jour-là), mais elle envisage de poser un arrêt parce qu’elle aime aussi beaucoup cet artiste.
Depuis, ma copine m’accuse d’être radin et égoïste parce que je ne veux pas vendre ma place en carré or pour acheter une place classique afin qu’on soit ensemble. On s’était promis d’aller au concert ensemble, et elle insiste beaucoup là-dessus, mais au moins 4 membres de ma famille seront aussi au concert.
Mes proches me disent qu’elle exagère et qu’elle en fait des caisses pour rien. Ça m’a pris la tête toute la journée, et je ne sais vraiment pas quoi faire : vendre la place ou juste y aller comme prévu.
