I’m starting to feel burnt out and depressed where I am in my Broadcasting career. I could really use some reassurance or advice on what to do.
I’m a director at a Tegna station. I’m feeling burnt out with all of this added content we’re cranking out for our streaming platform. There are constant workflow changes and added responsibilities are driving everyone crazy. It feels like we get used to doing things one way after a while. Then out of the blue the next week, we’re completely turning everything upside down and doing things a completely different way. We haven’t had a decent raise in 2 years and my love for this career is quickly dying.
I’m feeling depressed because quite frankly I am terrified of losing my job to AI automation like what happened at those other Tegna stations. I shouldn’t be feeling too worried because I’m in a rather large market. But at this point it’s not a matter of if, but when it’s going to happen. So what happens when that time comes? It’s next to impossible to find stations in markets like mine who are hiring directors. I don’t even know what I could do career wise if I were to even get out of news/broadcasting in general. I only have an associates degree and I busted my ass to get where I am today just like everyone else who has their bachelors and masters.
But at the end of the day it feels like companies are only looking for based on the level of the expensive paper you got from your school (degree). So what should I even do? I couldn’t possibly afford to go back to school, I feel so stuck and starting to feel hopeless.

I keep having the same issue where my bread dough just oozes out after the second proof. I'm following the Overnight White Bread with Poolish recipe from Flour, Water, Salt, Yeast. Overnight pre-ferment with 100% hydration poolish, mix in the morning to get to 70% hydration, knead and fold, proof, divide, then shape and proof again. I've watched so many videos about how to shape dough, and have tried so many different proof times and it happens every time. The bread tastes great it just has an awful shape. What am I doing wrong?
