2024.11.27 20:30 MHM2002 I need advice.
Okay so I fundraise a lot and use a lot of my own income on a group of approx 30 strays cats in my local estate!
I get them TNRād so they donāt reproduce more and itās been a wonderful experience!
With winter coming up Iāve been getting cat shelters up, the garden looks crazy š
I have also put one reasonably large sized one on public property on a river bank that some of the ferals tend to stay as they donāt trust me enough to come to the garden (understandably so!!)
Well a group of young lads broke it and I was devastated. I took a day to calm down to avoid being unreasonable and then knocked on the two lads doors to speak to their parents (they are only 10 so I didnāt think it was appropriate to discuss with them myself !)
One of the parents were appalled and shocked, apologized and even offered to help repair which I of course declined as I can repair it but itāll take time, money and effort so donāt want to do it If they will break it again! Thatās fine, all forgiven!
Well. The second boys house were not the same. They told me because itās on public property itās my own fault. That Iām liable for any damage to it. Of course if the damage was from an animal, the weather, even just local environments Iād assume thatās true but a child actively jumping on it, throwing it in the river and dismantling the floor boards??
I of course donāt want to do anything drastic, he is only a kid and Iām sure is embarrassed to have me at the door , but I canāt guarantee it wonāt happen again!
I got permission from the neighbor beside the bit of land as I had to climb through their hedging to get to it (this is very out of the way and behind wiring and massive hedging so wasnāt in the way of anyone) but didnāt go about asking the ācorrectā authorities I guess.
What can I do and whatās the law on this? I want to be respectful and explain that actually the child is at fault. I donāt expect anything but an apology and not doing it again..
And also who do I contact to get permission to use this specific piece of land by the river? Might make it easier to say I have permission š

Finally reached the point where people are stopping to tell me how much weight Iāve lost which is so weird!!! ( and nice) First photo is a day before surgery Second one is today hehe ALSO MASSIVE NON SCALE VICTORY TODAY went and bought my first EVER knee high boots today because I could never buy them since my calves were too big( peep second photo & a ss of me showing my mom the boots and the dress hehe)
