2024.11.27 21:26 acidmine MD RAID with Mach2 drives in SATA?
What is the ideal scheme for Linux MD RAID with a SATA Mach2 drive? With traditional drives I would be running RAID-6. It seems like RAID-60 is the way to go if attempting to use both actuators but I've read some concern about combining two "halves" of the same drive in RAID-0. Supposedly doing that can cause blocking problems.
For simplicity I am using just 4 drives in my examples.
My initial plan, where drives are letters and numbers are partitions:

Hi
I was browsing the internet yesterday and noticed that my computer had connected via hotspot to my work ipad using its mobile data. This iPad uses an MDM via intune, I had a look at the MDM Management profile and it doesn't use a VPN or seem to have a proxy installed either. It was only connected via mobile data and not using their WIFI network at all.
The computer was connected via iCloud relay as well, that as far as I can see might provide a bit of anonymity, but what sort of data would the be able to see. Is it just a case of the iPad being used as a hotspot, or would the be able to see browsing history as well during this period? I assume nothing has been saved on the iPad as it was just a relay and it being only connected to 4G and no VPN on it, that nothing was routed back though my employers system.
So, I wonder what will they be able to see or what was logged in this case? Does iCloud relay change any of this?

It’s going to be for gaming so trying to figure out best monitor for this build. Should go 1080 or 1440? It seemed to run well when I had an omen 27 1440. But didn’t know if that will hurt it in long run. Any suggestions or ideas greatly appreciated

2024.11.27 21:26 jollyrogercjf So Lower Level Facilities aren't real?
I heard a nasty rumor that NATCA is endorsing a new policy that will allow new academy grads to jump straight up to level 7-10 facilities out of the academy. Allegedly this will fix the staffing problems at these larger facilities, meanwhile those trapped at these lower level facilities will remain understaffed and unable to move on to different facilities but I mean they aren't real facilities anyway right? They are upset that these smaller facilities have longer training times, but where are the resources and time being spent to address these issues? I can only conclude small facilities aren't real for NATCA. Has anyone else heard similar?

Road Construction Monday – Sunday 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
🚧 River Street Bridge: ▪ MassDOT’s contractor Northern Construction has implemented a detour on the River Street Bridge. All southbound traffic will follow the West Street detour. Northbound traffic will be maintained.
🚧 Newton Place: ▪ Newton Place from Main Street to Boulder Drive will be closed to traffic through the end of 2024.
Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (expect road closures, traffic delays and/or detours).
🚧 Pipeline Replacement: ▪ Unitil and its subcontractors Neuco, Path Mechanical and S-Fors will be conducting natural gas pipeline replacement projects in the areas of Fairlawn Street, Newton Street, Depot Street, Albee Street, Lyman Ave, Fairmount Street, Pine Grove Ave, Greendale Ave, Nimitz Ave, Water Street (from 5th Street to Krysiak Ave.), Cleveland Street, Lancaster Street, Hassett Street, and Cleghorn Street.
🚧 Main Street Water Main Improvements: ▪ Valve installation and service transfer work. PLEASE NOTE: The valve installation work involves localized shutdowns of the water system infrastructure and will involve water service interruption. The anticipated limits of this work are shown below Building/properties affected by the work will be notified directly via hand delivered notice. Work is anticipated to take 2 – 4 hours at each location, but abutters should be prepared for service interruption to last longer.
• Monday 12/2 – Snow Street (Main to Cherry)
