2024.11.27 22:33 catnuh The state of our healthcare has left me genuinely traumatized
For as long as I remember the norm has always been waiting at the very least 8 hours in the ER for something not immediately urgent, broken bones, infections, ruptured ear drums, etc. When I was there last (New Glasgow hospital) for a possible broken rib. I waited from 12pm-12am just to be told a patient was being flown in from the city in critical condition and the ONLY doctor on duty would be busy for several hours. I left at that point without having gotten even an xray.
Now I'm laying in bed with an awful stabbing burning pain in my lower left abdomen that's been getting worse over the last 2 weeks. Do I torture myself and stay in the ER overnight with the looming chance of not even being locked at? Do I go tomorrow and spend the entirety of my day sitting in uncomfortable hospital chairs? trying to find a comfortable position with some sort of abdominal injury.
I really am not sure what to do. The wait and the actual white room, uncomfortable chair torture that is waiting in the ER sounds worse than my kidney rupturing or whatever the worse case scenario is for my abdomen thing.

This may be a bit silly but I know Film Festivals are a good way to get involved with the film industry.
It’s good for someone looking to break in because they make connections and network, sharing about the work they’ve completed, projects they’ve worked on, or their self-produced projects that are already in the festival.
I was also curious in what ways do film festivals benefit the film fan or person who wants to work with/in the world of film but doesn’t necessarily want to be a part of actual film making?
I know there’s film industry adjacent jobs such as film teacher, film journalist, film critic, film historian but what do you get out of volunteering at a film festival? Is it more for the experience?
Do people even talk to you if you’ve never made your own movie or worked on a movie? Thank you!

Hi all, this is my current build (several years old). I don't do much gaming, but like to have a decent GPU for occasional gaming, playing around with machine learning, chess. I really value quiet - the current machine tends to get loud in the summer (the room is warm despite my best efforts) so that's something I'd like to work on. I also like having plenty of disk space, which is one of the main reasons I'm not going for a laptop. Not sure if the Mini iTX format is worth sticking to. Budget ~$1500ish for new components. I'm honestly here to create a lore that probably wasn't thought about, especially from the writers.
It isn't uncommon to see other fishing simulators fish out clothing and debris for example Minecraft, where you can fish out armor, tools, and books. Although there could be a whole other theory for that, that is for a different Subreddit to post on.
-minor spoilers ahead read at will-
As for the ship wreckage, through other lore I have came up with and is sure that has been swirling the internet, I don't find myself reading those often so my conslusion for that is: we are aware of ships not making it to Bahari, a disaster happed according to Kenyatta during the Psychozoic era (the era we are currently in irl), and we assume the Majiri also travel by boat because... why wouldn't they? Ship wreckage is very common amongst any place with swells. Now on to more of a specific lore to stir the pot.
So here are some of my collective theories over the mysterious boots we find:
The Majiri are secretly litterbugs- No one knows why they have a hatred for shoes, but out of all things they choose to get rid of, it's their shoes. Get new ones? Toss the old pair into the lake.
Jel's failed pieces- ever wonder why Jel stays by the lake? Not to get inspo from floating shoes, but to toss out his failed art.
Don't cross Tish the wrong way- we know that Tish might seem sweet, but she is all for drama. If you cross her the wrong way, watch your shoes, she will chuck them in the water.
A way of honor- this one might be a bit morbid, but we don't know the Majrir's traditions. To honor their passed loved ones, they could do a shoe tossing event.
A way of honor (not morbid)- when Majiri marry, instead of smashing a plate, they toss their shoes into the ocean.
Wishing well- instead of pennys, they toss shoes into the water.
A message to fast fashion- we see they make much of Palia as the message that humans are cause of their current state of living which is honestly why I believe fear has brought the order to see why humans are back. And why other Majiri seems cool with us is because we don't have access to our irl modernized-environmental damaging equipment. While I have gotten a bit off track, and that being a lore for a different day, it would make sense even though we are 3k years into the future that fast fashion ship wreckage and debris never decomposed. So we are basically fishing up "our" boots. Everyone has them so that's why there are so many.
Sailors (Morbid theory)- ships have wrecked which means sailors have lost their boots.
Why are they in lakes and rivers? Flooding, shifts in geography, and general garbage tossing could be a reason. For further in-depth on that question is for a different lore.

since the 2.0 update dropped, my interest to install wc3 grew up and I did so today.
I managed to do some setting which I prefer now I there’s the question what zoom is the best to play the game.
I never tried the zoom function in wc3c before, so please give me a hint what you prefer that micro is still waiting easy to manage.
I am a UD main and play NE second if it’s important.
Although my preferences are all reforged but vfx is classic for better effect reading.
