2024.11.28 00:39 fire-bill-7 Just had my first accident
What the title says. The majority of the blame for it lies on me for sure but the other person was driving poorly as well.
It happened on the M1 just before Nottingham. I had spent about 30 minutes sitting still in traffic and had just finally started to move as the cars in front began to move, I decided to move from lane 2 to lane 1 to get through traffic as lane 1 was less congested than lanes 2 and 3. Traffic in lanes 2 and 3 was going no faster than 10mph. I checked my centre and left mirror, signalled and saw this white corolla taxi to the left of me but he was quite far behind me, i can’t remember exactly how far behind me he was but i thought it was a safe enough distance for me to move out. As i’m moving into lane 1 he decides to speed up really quickly and try to pass me on the left (remember lane 1 has barely any cars in it) and as i’m changing lane i end up hitting the rear right of his car with the front left of mine as he’s passing me at no more than 15 mph. With all this said at the end of the day, i was the one that changed lane so the fault lies with me even if he was driving dangerously as well.
I’m not even really sure why i’m writing this to be honest i’m just a bit shaken up still even though none of us were hurt and my car isn’t damaged too badly. All i can really do is make sure that i triple check that it’s safe to change lanes from now on before i make the move. I’ve been driving for less than a year and this whole situation has knocked my confidence quite a bit. Can’t say i’m looking forward to renewing my insurance next year tho, it was already insanely expensive💀

I make custom horse tack. Someone ordered a horse halter from me, and says it’s too small. I have a link in my description to my sizing (which is plus or minus the range because it’s handmade).
I suppose I wouldn’t mind them returning it and hopefully I can resell eventually, but they would have to cover the return shipping. And I assume I would be out the shipping cost that it took to get it to them?
My shop has a no return policy, but of course I still want to make the customer happy. What’s the best way to handle this?
