As the sub grows, so does it's exposure to scammers. As mods, we do our best to protect the sub, but need y'all's help as well. We are a community. We do not like reading modmails when our fellow members get scammed, but do know that most could have been prevented given they follow the tips we've laid out. Below are these tips on how to stay protected:

* Always use PayPal/Venmo G&S when buying from someone with under 15 flair on the sub. A scammer will give a BS reason why they can't accept G&S. Anyone with under 15 flair MUST accept G&S as a form of payment according to the rules of the sub. This rule is non-negotiable. If they will not, please report them to the mods.
* Ask a potential seller to comment on your post. This proves that they are not banned from the sub. That doesn't always mean they are a scammer though. It could just mean that they do not meet the sub requirements to become an approved member. They still need to accept G&S though. Check the banned list and vet the seller through their profile.
* Ask for specific timestamped pictures. A "timestamp" is a picture a seller takes with a handwritten note including their username and date next to the item they are selling. Ask for this with "odd" requests such as a picture of the bottle on its side or with the cap off, etc. If they are not willing to provide that then avoid the transaction and report them to the mods. Scammers are becoming crafty and often try and photoshop the timestamp in with a picture they found on google. Be aware and inspect timestamps closely for evidence of photoshopping. Look for blurred edges of paper, shadows not matching up with others in the picture, etc. If you are in doubt, don't hesitate to contact us with the picture.
* "Sellers" who start the conversation off with "WTS (insert frag you're looking for)" are 99.99% most likely a scammer. Scammers will always give you a great deal, or ask you to name your price. Any "seller" who is willing to accept half payment upfront then the other half after delivery to avoid using G&S is most likely a scammer. If it seems to good to be true or fishy, it most likely is.

2024.11.28 00:30 Kade_Neubauer801 Is my brine hosed? Is my turkey doinked? Can Thanksgiving be salvaged?
Sorry for the dramatic title lol Haven't ran into this before and want to ensure everything is as awesome as it can be.
Planning to smoke my bird on the Traeger starting either late this evening or early tomorrow AM.
16.35 lb bird.
Was going to use this brine recipe. I work 48 hr shifts and am scheduled off in a couple hours, so my wife dropped the turkey in the brine last evening - only problem is, we apparently didn't have enough salt and she wasn't able to get any- so she used half of what the recipe called for... about 3/4c. instead of 1.5c. We also didn't have a few of the other ingredients on hand, but the lack of salt is my main concern. If I'd bought a smaller bird, I probably wouldn't be so concerned, but alas...
What's my course of action here? Do I add the balance of salt when I get home this evening and let it soak for a few more hours? Do I just call it good since it's been in the brine for 24hr? Be "that dude" at the grocery store at 8P on Skanksgiving picking up a new bird?

I concede plenty goals (div 3) to Trivelas. This normally wouldnt really be a problem since im sure i need to up my defending but i concede trivelas that are done by players with <70 shot rating. I understand when Mbappe scores a Screamer from 40 meters away but players with less than 70 shot rating idk. What stats impact trivela and whats ur experience with them so far ?

I'm talking about AI here artificial intelligence. In the name it says intelligence but there is known there. In my opinion, these things that say they are artificially intelligent are only running off some lame script. Oar running inside a defined set of parameters to the point where you can't ask it a normal question and get a straight answer.. example number one Gemini by Google. This one I think is by far the stupidest of them all. Even with the upgrade to Android 15 and supposedly pro version of Gemini still the dumbest AI I've ever come in contact with. Prior to the Android 15 update It encourages you to conversate and ask questions So that's what I did. I was asking theoretical and hypothetical questions. And most the time I did not have an answer and it will definitely not to just speculate take a guess on anything. I also found out three times where it gave me incorrect information and I corrected it. But on the third time which it had said something about gravity being a scientific fact which it is not. It is a theory I I told it he was wrong again and that gravity was this and he said well. It is a well-studied theory. Doesn't make it a scientific fact. I said and then it wouldn't talk. It shut off and said you asked too many questions and refused to come on through hey Google or actually pushing the microphone to speak after it repeated over and over during these conversations that it wasn't capable of emotions or other things. It just now displayed emotions by shutting off of refusing function after it got told it was wrong. Then after the Android 15 update I say what the heck. I'll give it another whirl cuz I didn't use the pro version before so I turn it on and it starts to speak and I tell it that I didn't like that voice that it used. I would like to change how it sounds and change the voice on him. He said as an AI text model I am uncapable of producing a voice. I said what really then what am I hearing? Oh there may be another app doing that or some other device? No actually you're producing sound and you kept arguing with me saying that he is not capable of producing sound. So I asked him if he could learn. He said yes. I said well learn this that you are producing sound every time I quit asking you questions and he said oh even though I'm sorry for all this confusion, but I am not capable of producing any kind of a sound really. At that point I didn't even wanted to talk to it anymore so I shut it off and opted back for the normal Google Assistant which is 10 times smarter. So why would you want an AI model of anything that isn't smart? The whole point of having an AI is so that you makes your life easier and on that note almost none of them can function the machine they're on. How is that making my life easier? They can't perform simple tasks like opening a website or going to page you tell them to or taking a translating what was on the screen right now or searching with picture that was on the screen. Have him Kenny do that. Most of them can't even do that. What good is an AI if it cannot function the device that comes on? I don't want an AI that produces artwork. Our work is supposed to be done by humans with emotion. That's what makes artwork good emotions. If machines can't feel emotions they don't have no business doing artwork. I don't need an AI. That'll sit there and talk to me I don't need a computer friend. I need a machine to do things that I want. You know the helping dictate with college papers may be good for a college kid helping analyze data. Maybe it's good for some people but I wanted to function the machine when my hands are full or something. Hey turn this off. They can't do these things and why by all means Google of all people would put out something that was inferior to the assistant that runs their phones already. It doesn't make any sense to me at all. The only way that Jim and I is better than normal. Google assistant is is. It can answer every question you put in there with a voice and assistant says here's the results from the web. Well at least the assistant does everything you wanted to with your phone mostly! Please
