My husband and I are unlimited. Everytime we book a movie, the theatre is empty and we pick seats we want near the center. We book to avoid others, mainly.
Even if the theatre was full, we would select seats at least a seat away from other people. The buffer seat, if you will.
We booked an empty theatre tonight. There were only 6 other seats booked. We booked with a buffer seat.
Someone still booked next to us! I genuinely don’t understand this. An entire theatre worth of seats and you want to sit next to strangers in an empty theatre?
Why do you do this???

Need advice on how to respond to this video clip my husband sends me without coming across as if I don’t get it, or being a bitch or I don’t care. I genuinely do care, I understand he’s got 50 million things on his mind that I have no idea about….but So Do I. The mental labor of remembering all the things I have to do for myself and then kindly repeatedly reminding him of things without trying to come across as a nagging wife is absolutely exhausting.

Hello, i am not yet at law school however i do intend to study law at university. i have so many questions about the whole thing but not someone who knows the specifics. My main questions are
-From what i know about law at the moment it seems very interesting to me, is there a way i can make sure i want to do it at university? -I am someone who is expected to get good grades and while i do do lots of things outside of school, i have not done many formal extracurriculars, especially not things that link to law. will this hurt my application? and if so how is it best for me to remedy this i.e. things i can do to strengthen my case over other peoples. -How difficult is it to get a job in the different sectors of law? -How do i know how to balance what i want financially as well as my enjoyment? -How likely is it that i will have to work more than my hours and not get payed? if so are the possible benefits in the future if i do this?
For context i live in the UK. Thanks for any help given 👍

This happened a few minutes ago. I was on my to work and paglabas ko ng gate, andun ang katiwala ko nag-aabang sa akin. This was freaking 8AM in the morning!
I have been absent for so long now kaya imbyerna na sila sa akin. They even tagged me as UWP because I went to the province to attend the burial of my grandfather.
So kanina, ang bungad agad ng katiwala ko was sumamba na daw kasi nagbago na naman ang destinado namin. I asked why, sabi nya hindi kasi sila nagtatagal dahil nap-promote agad. She even added na malapit na din ang Sta. Cena (wtf Nov. pa lang ngayon) at baka mababa daw ako if hindi ako sumamba.
Nagpintig ang tenga ko nung narinig ko yun esp. sa destinado part. Kunyari lang sila may paki sa mga members pero they just really care about themselves, mga self-centered hyprocrites.
So now, mas lalo akong ginanahan na hindi sumamba. To hell with that destinado, sana di sya ma-promote.

I (20F) have a brother (22M) who’s been dating his girlfriend (19F) for almost two years now. Let me try to explain this as clearly as I can. My brother and his girlfriend started dating when he was 20 and she was 17. I’m not entirely comfortable with the age difference for several reasons. First off, she was still in high school, and he was pursuing post-secondary education. While the age gap isn’t huge (just three years), it feels off to me, especially since my brother wasn’t really focused on his future. He wasn’t career-driven, nor was he making progress toward furthering his education. Now, I don’t mean to look down on people who don’t pursue a degree—I know plenty of people who’ve excelled without one—but my brother seemed to be going nowhere at that point in his life.
Early in their relationship, his girlfriend started pushing for things that felt a little too serious, too soon. She’d make comments like, “Oh, my mom wants our parents to meet,” or “My mom wants your parents to call mine to get the ball rolling on marriage.” To give some context, our culture is very traditional. In our community, dating isn’t the norm, but since we live in a Western society, it’s more common for people to date and marry for love, rather than through arranged marriages. Still, even if you do want to marry for love, your parents have to approve.
At one point, my brother came to me crying, saying that his girlfriend’s parents were arranging her marriage to a man nearly a decade older than her. Apparently, the only way to prevent this was for my brother to get our parents to meet hers by the end of the week. I told him straight away that there was no way our parents would approve, especially given that he wasn’t doing much with his life. They didn’t want him to end up relying on them financially.
The week passed, and unsurprisingly, they were still together. My brother didn’t get our parents involved, and somehow, his girlfriend wasn’t married off to someone else… which felt a bit suspicious, to be honest.
As my brother started to get his life together—getting a job in another city, moving out, and building a career—he continued pressuring my parents to approve his marriage to her. But they kept refusing. While he had a good job, he still didn’t have a degree, and in his field, having one is important for long-term career growth. He didn’t even try to reapply to college. So my parents told him that they’d start talking about marriage with her family if he enrolled in college and worked toward a degree.
Fast forward: My brother got his wish, and we met her family. He still isn’t in college, though he says he’ll start soon, and my parents are trying to use his marriage to her as motivation to push him toward getting his degree.
When we first set up the meeting with her family, she told my brother that her dad would need a couple of months to decide whether they’d proceed with the marriage. That seemed normal to us, as things like this take time in our culture. We met her family, and not even two days later, they’d approved of the relationship, which essentially means they’ve given their consent to an engagement (the pre-engagement phase).
This approval felt off for a few reasons. I got a strange vibe from her mom. I can’t explain it, but whenever I get that gut feeling, I’m usually right. To add some context, her family was under the impression that we’re wealthy and live a lavish lifestyle, which isn’t really true. That alone raised red flags for me. I feel like the only reason they’d give their approval after such a short meeting would be if they had another motive. The first time we met, the encounter was awkward and stiff, and we didn’t really get to know each other’s families. Normally, it takes time for both families to approve of the relationship, but this felt rushed.
Another thing is that my family is very career-focused. My parents believe that all of their kids should be financially independent and have at least a year of work experience before they can get married. But her family doesn’t seem to share that perspective, and neither does she. She seems to have no clear plans for her future, which is unusual for a young woman her age. When we mentioned our career-driven values, her family seemed somewhat disappointed, almost like they were hoping for a quick engagement and marriage.
Honestly, I don’t know what to make of all this. I’m just looking for some guidance. AITAH for feeling this way?
