Hi everyone, I am mostly a hobby developer who started making a 2D automation RTS. However I am stuck on certain problems that I am struggling to overcome. These include how to make grid snapping building like in factorio and other things like how formations are done and kept when units move and stop as well as general UI stuff. I come from a background of maths and python programming but little experience with actual game engines and game development. Any recommendations for resources be they videos, blog posts or even libraries for Godot for me to check out.

2024.11.28 10:42 Possible_Monk_7507 UGreen Capture Card Not Working on OBS
Ive just bought a UGreen capture card so that I can record PS5 gameplay onto my laptop. But I have an issue where the video output only shows this rainbow error which periodically turns to black every 3 seconds and then reappears (see here). Audio works fine tho.
Ive tried connecting the capture card to my laptop via both the usb-c and usb3.0 ports, but both have the same issue. Ive noticed that connecting via usb-c allows me to select between the YUY2 and MJPEG video formats, whereas usb3.0 only allows MJPEG. YUY2 is the format that the UGreen guide recommends, so Im inclined to use that, but (at 1920x1080p) YUY2 is set to 5fps max, but MJPEG can go to 60fps. How can I fix the framerate for YUY2 btw?
Then I thought it might be my drivers so I updated it to the latest version but I still have the same problem. Also tried using XSplit instead of OBS but it also has the same error. Restarting OBS and my laptop, and unpplugging and plugging in the capture card also didnt help.
Any thoughts?
