Hey what's up? So I work from home most days and It can be pretty lonely. I'm looking for new buds to check in and chat on a daily. A little about me:
- Massive horror / spooky nerd. Love everything horror and macabre. Huge fan of 70's / 80's slashers but adore the horror genre.
- Huge music fan. I tend to lean towards the alt scene (metal / punk / hardcore / thrash etc.) but I will listen to most things, so send me some suggestions.
- Record collector. I have catalogued 200 but I know I have more.
- Guitar player - I have played guitar and bass in rock and punk bands for over 20 years. Currently a bedroom player at the moment but I still like to make a noise.

Yeah, we get it, cruise ships aren't as beautiful as the ship this subreddit was made for and you think they're ugly. Cruise ships aren't made to be gorgeous on the exterior. They are made to provide a fun experience for families who just want a getaway from the real world for a bit; they're basically moving hotel/casino/waterpark combos. Obviously something that big isn't going to look great, but if everything on the ship itself is fun literally who cares? Titanic was an ocean liners, not a cruise ship.
You're not esoteric or intellectual for saying "god cruise ships are so ugly, but not my beloved ocean liners," all it shows is that you're missing the point of what makes them different from Titanic and other ocean liners in the first place.

I know I want an Ncase T1, a i5 14400f, RTX 4070 Super build and 32 GB Ram. Donât think I can get anything better within my 1.5k budget, I know about this stuff a little, but I have never built a PC before, so donât know anything about compatibility between the other components.

So, this is a really bizarre situation, but I need an outside perspective because my friends and family think Iâm losing it.
For some context, I live in an old house I inherited from my grandparents. Itâs creaky, drafty, and full of weird quirks, but I love it. A few months ago, I started hearing noises in the wallsâscratching, scuttling, occasional whispers. At first, I thought it was mice or squirrels, so I called pest control. They found nothing.
But the noises didnât stop. If anything, they got...more intentional? Like, Iâd hear taps that sounded like someone was knocking back when Iâd knock on the walls. Then small things in the house started going missingâspoons, socks, shiny objects. I even noticed some of my snacks disappearing.
Hereâs where it gets really weird: one night, I stayed up late and heard shuffling in the kitchen. When I went to check, I swear I saw a small, goblin-like creature scurry back into a crack in the wall. I know it sounds insane, but I wasnât imagining it.
The next day, I set up a camera, and sure enough, I caught glimpses of something movingâsmall, humanoid, definitely not a raccoon. I started leaving food out (curiosity, I guess?) and noticed it was always gone by morning. Eventually, I left a little note asking, âWho are you?â I got a scribbled response: âJust hungry. Will go if you want.â
At this point, I didnât know what to do. This âgoblinâ or whatever it is hasnât hurt me, but itâs weird, and I feel uneasy knowing something is living in my walls. So, I left another note saying it had to leave. Since then, the noises have stopped, and I havenât seen any signs of it.
But now, I feel conflicted. Some friends say I was cruel, evicting something that wasnât hurting me and was just trying to survive. Others say I did the right thing because itâs my house and the whole situation was unsafe.
So, AITA for kicking out the goblin in my walls?
