I’d like to address common swerf talking points, because a lot of them are rooted in misogyny and I cannot pretend otherwise.
The one point I completely agree with: Sex work and pornography is filled with abuse. It is, and that’s why we should educate people about it and condemn any sites that have been found to enable those types of abuse. (notably, Pornhub.) If the measures taken to protect sex workers aren’t drastic, there is undoubtedly a lot, lot of abuse towards them. What we shouldn’t do is condemn the sex workers themselves, if abuse does happen, they’re the victims and the survivors and should be treated with understanding and compassion instead of hate and disgust.
Next, a point I find incredibly infantilizing: Women can’t consent if money is involved. There are some situations in which, yes, it’s coerced; if the woman feels she has no other options and she is pressured into it, amongst other scenarios. However, if I want to sell my services, if I feel comfortable with doing it, then you have no right to tell me I’m not thinking clearly just because you personally don’t agree with it. I’m tired of being infantilized, yes, I’m a woman, and yes, I’m able to make my own decisions even when money is involved. Surprisingly my dumb woman brain is still able to think.
Last, the unmistakably misogynistic talking point at least half of all swerfs will tell you: “it reinforces that women are objects, commodities.” If you see women sex workers as objects or commodities, it says more about you than it says about them.

So my family name means Cypriot in turkish. My family migrated to my country in the 1800s. Some people say we are originally turks some say greeks and some say Cypriots. Currently my curiosity increased after learning some people in cyprus have the same family name. I want to know how to learn more about it and about cyprus. Hello, I'm making this post on behalf of someone else who just received an eviction notice. She (59) has been living in the apartment for over 12 years and receives state assistance for rent, food stamps, and Medicaid.
Since her rental assistance does not cover the full amount, she has been paying what she can. Due to not paying the full amount due each month, she ended up owing $1,400. It's my understanding that she borrowed money to pay this amount owed in full. However, the PMC is unlikely to renew her lease. Especially since they increased the rent. From what I hear, they have been evicting people in similar situations.
She is very sick and cannot afford to move. Are there any options for her? Thank you.

Hey guys, just another rant about Stalker 2 economy in hope that the developers patch it out somewhere in the future.
I'm always been a fan of the series, I played SoC back in 2007 and I've finished it like 4 times (no mod). Still today is probably my favourite game ever. It had its share of bugs and troubles but I've always found the economy of the game to be exactly in spot.
The good gear was rare enough to make the findings feel rewarding, without being too painful to get. The repairing cost was high, but not bonkers like it's in the new game, so you never really struggled with money. I mean, buying weapons was astronomically expensive, but that's fair since it's a sort of shortcut for the game... You're supposed to get them searching in the zone, not to buy them like a rich guy's son. I used to sniff around for a good weapon at the start and then use it until I'd stumble into something better... Much like the new game, BUT with a huge difference: in SoC enemy's weapons always started at 100% durability, and they rapidly degraded the more shot the enemy fired at you. That meant making a silent kill would reward you with a fully functional weapon... It was a great system to reward efficient and ponderate engagements.
The same goes for mutants: the used to drop body parts. The drop rate was low enough to discourage farming, but still it made fighting mutants worth your time and resources.... You never knew what they could drop... They also felt like a proof you defended a powerful mutant, something to show around in the camp. In Stalker 2 fighting mutants is just a waste of precious money... I end up running away 90% of the times. It might be more realistic, but it's not fun...
