2024.11.28 18:50 Redinho83 Help! My steam deck is broken!

So I had left the deck on all day to download a game, it wasn't using the official charger though and when I got home it wasn't turning on, or at least I thought it wasn't...
I left it charging with the official charger for an hour and still it didn't turn on, but I could hear the fan. So I plugged it into my external monitor and it showed the deck screen, but when I unplugged it still nothing.
I tried doing a factory reset from the settings screen to see if it would fix it but now I still don't have the display working, and when I plug it into the monitor it is stuck on verifying installation.
What can I do to try and fix it? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Keto “Sunday Dinner” Pot Roast Keto “Sunday Dinner” Pot Roast
Prep time: 20 minutes Cook time: 3½ - 4 hours Serves: 4
Ingredients:
1 t. garlic powder 1 T. Italian seasoning 1 T. cocoa powder 1 t. sea salt ½ t. black pepper 3 lbs. chuck roast 3 T. extra virgin olive oil, divided 8 oz. Portobello mushrooms, sliced 4 c. beef broth 1 T. tomato paste 2 bay leaves 2 T. fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
  1. Add the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, cocoa powder, salt, and black pepper to a small bowl and stir to combine. Rub this mixture all over the surface of the chuck roast, pressing firmly to make sure it adheres. Set aside.
  2. Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chuck roast and brown on all sides, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Once browned, remove the roast from the Dutch oven and transfer to a plate. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil and the Portobello mushrooms to the pot and sauté, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms develop some color and start to release their liquid, approximately 4-5 minutes.
  4. Deglaze the pot by adding the beef broth and scraping up any brown bits on the bottom to incorporate them into the liquid. Stir in the tomato paste and add the bay leaves. Return the chuck roast to the Dutch oven and cover.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3 to 3½ hours, or until the meat is fall apart tender. Remove from heat and discard the bay leaves. Transfer the roast and mushrooms to a serving platter and cover to keep warm. Set aside.
  6. Bring the liquid in the pot to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the temperature down to medium for several minutes or until the sauce thickens a bit.
  7. To serve, spoon some of the pan sauce over the beef, along with some of the mushrooms. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and pair with creamy mashed cauliflower, roasted radishes, or your choice of sides. Enjoy!

Okay so I saw the movie last Monday, completely blind. I knew nothing about the movie, play, book, story, I heard Defying Gravity maybe once from start to finish before. My coworker, who's a fan, really wanted to go and then she canceled on me and I figured I would just go see it. Well, I really liked it and now feel invested in the story.
Now I am interested in reading the book. My question is not "is the book good??" Or "is it better than the movie/play"??? Because I have no doubt many would answer yes to both, but rather do you think I should wait to read the book after both movies so I can enjoy the second movie for what it is or do you think I should read the book so I understand more going into the second movie? My thinking on this is that whenever I have read the book before seeing the media, I pretty much always dislike the media due to missing parts in the book that I loved, changed story/character characteristics, etc, but if I watch the media first and then read the book, it's fine because I can consider them 2 different things.
What do you guys think? I'm open to both and while I can wait a year for the movie without reading the book, I also love to research new things I like so I'm interested to hear anyone's thoughts or if they read the book first/saw the play first/watched the movie first then did the others and vice versa.
