2024.11.28 22:30 Single-Ad-7049 How to make layups in transition when someone is already at rim
I can make layups/dunks when defenders are on the side or behind me or if they are in front of me in transition and I beat them, but when there is already a defender at the rim usually I just pass, floater, or if I do go up I smoke the layup. Should I be going for more euro steps or picking up the ball earlier in that situation? For context I’m about 6ft, 160lbs

What games do you guys just replay over and over and over again? It seriously can be anything, a linear game, open world, action, FPS, third person literally anything
These are the games that stand out to you, the ones you just wanna re experience again and again, even when you have troubles deciding what game to play or would rather just play something that you know is fun and enjoyable
Single player only, multiplayer doesn't count
For some reason I have not yet found this kind of game yet, hopefully with this post I'll find one, Im fine with anything that isn't horror or souls game

2024.11.28 22:30 Infinite-Visit-2213 Brand new Fender Player Telecaster - should frets look like this?
Hi all
I just bougt brand new Fender Player Telecaster (old version, not Player II) which looking at catalog, has Medium Jumbo frets, and upon taking it home I've noticed one weird thing: fret look abnormally flat comparing to any other guitar I have (there's like 1mm width of flatness on top of each fret), like they were not crowned properly
Apart from this guitar is great, it also plays well and I did not notice any issue with buzzing, even though action is quite low (1.8-2.0mm)
I am wondering:
- Is this how they should look, or there is something wrong? Maybe Fender frets are just different to frets on my other guitars (Yamaha Pacifica and Harley Benton Tele)
- What should be the height of the fret on this guitar, from fingerboard to top of the fret? Mine measured with caliper is (depending on measurement) 0.9-1.1mm (0.035"-0.043"). After seeing flat top, I started if they were not "over sanded" during levelling, which could mean that I will need to re-fret guitar faster than normally. I've tried searching information on Fender website, but it's quite inconsistent (sometimes it says 0.036", other times around 0.05")
- I've also noticed those tiny holes below frets (like slot was cut to deeply) - some of them are filled with some wood filer, but others are not - is this normal?
Photos showing flatness and those tiny holes - don't worry about something that looks like machine marks or scratches - those are either shadows of strings, or just my phone overemphasising picture:

Just something to keep in mind - while it's absolutely true that this strike is hurting real Canadians and businesses and those stories are real, this sub is deliberately restricting to anti-worker talking points. There is lots of clear information on the strike at CanadaPostCorp, by people who would like to share it here but have been banned by the mods here (feel free to look at the mods post history - they're heavily ideologically motivated).
I'm sure this post will be removed shortly, because as I said, the mods here want this to be an anti-worker sub, but if you want some other perpsectives. To be clear, I would not call the other sub unbiased either - many of the posters are currently on strike, so they have a dog in this race to be sure, but I've seen no evidence that they're engaging in the kind of ideologically moderation we're getting here.

hey! i just got into performing just at local bars and stuff and Im working on just absorbing everything i can, i play guitar and i sing, i just have a basic thrifted mic and a fender sidekick and im looking into how to sound better because its all wrong and pitchy and harsh when i sing in the mic, i wanna get into all that gear with the in ear monitors (because i recently developed some tinnitus and hearing issues) but theres just so much information on youtube, do i really have to learn how to do this all myself? do local venues have sound mixing systems? do i really have to learn how to be a sound engineer and all that jazz? like is this just how its done or am i trying to buy what people already have and do the jobs of 3 people or do all performers just know how to do everything and own all their own stuff, all advice would be helpful, or if this is the wrong place for this question id love to be directed, thanks so much
