Today has been so hard. I’ve written on here before, but my bf (29m) of 2 years broke up with me (24f) around a week and a half ago now because he “fell out of love”. Everything in our relationship was so perfect it doesn’t make any sense, and he even says the same. He doesn’t know why he feels the way that he feels. He still says that he loves me, he just doesn’t feel that “in love” feeling. I’ve been coming to terms with it more and have been doing okay taking care of myself, but today being Thanksgiving has been so so hard. He was supposed to come up to NY with me to see my family, but now I’m here without him. I didn’t realize how much of a difference having him here with me always made. It’s so boring without him. Because of this, it’s unfortunately got me extremely in my feelings to the point where it’s hard to even concentrate on appreciating time with my family.
Has anyone on here ever experienced this from the other perspective? Have you ever left the most ideal, perfect, soulmate type of relationship bc of “feeling out of love” ? Did you get back together with that person?
Ive been giving him his space, slowly moving things out of our apartment back into my dad’s house, etc. We’ve spoken a couple times and agreed to remain friends, but he even accidentally called me babe in our phone call the other night and we were laughing and having a great conversation per usual. Ive chalked it up to it having ended bc both of us are going through extremely stressful and transitional periods of time in our life right now, and he just couldn’t see through it. Not to mention, “in love” feels different when you’re a couple years into a relationship. It’s not puppy love anymore. I tried to remind him how different our lives are going to be in a few months (esp. with me graduating school and him switching to a different tattoo shop), but I just can’t help but want him back right now:(. I wish he saw what I saw cause he truly is my best friend.
