2024.11.29 03:30 Budget_Wing3965 AITAH for thinking of traveling without wife and kids over Thanksgiving weekend
Thanksgiving is always a big family event for me and my wife (early 40s), and we have two kids 10 and 5. We generally alternate years for whose family we visit at Thanksgiving, although we were my family last two years since her family wasn’t getting together last year. This year was slated to be with her family, but again turned out her family wasn’t having a coordinated get together, so we both agreed to go back with my family this year. After we committed, rest of my family ended up all committing including all three siblings and all of their kids, making it first time in several years that everyone would be together. My mom even arranged for professional photos to celebrate the occasion.
On the Tuesday before our Wed morning cross country flight, our youngest (5) wakes up with 101-102 fever. Take him in and they confirm no covid or flu, and they say since he has no cough or ear infection or runny nose he’s fine to travel, just keep him on meds and have him wear mask if we can. My wife says she’s not comfortable with him flying, so I suggest we can push flights from Wed to Thu so he can recover and we can still get to see everyone, and she agrees. Next day son is feeling better, while on meds he’s 100% normal high energy self and no temp, and when meds run out in evening he gets low grade fever right at 100 but still seems ok.
My wife wants to make another call to nurse line to see what they say, and their recommendation is again that he’s fine to travel, just medicate as needed.
At this point, my wife says she’s still not ok with him traveling. I said this trip is important to me and we’ve heard from two medical professionals that he’s totally fine to travel, but she insists she’s not ok traveling. Given importance of the trip, I suggest I can go with our oldest daughter, and wife gets very upset and says that by suggesting that it shows I am selfish and can’t prioritize her or our kids. In heat of moment I respond in less than ideal way and say that I feel I am very much thinking of the kids and what she’s doing by not allowing either of our kids to go is denying them a chance to connect with aunts uncles grandparents cousins. She responds to that statement by flicking me off, saying “f*** off with that” and storms off.
After we each catch our breath, I come back and say that if she can’t see traveling ok, but this is very important to me and if she’s not ok with either kid traveling I would like to go myself, and can change flights to have Txgiving day with our nuclear family, then take red eye Thursday night and be back Saturday night. She responds to that by saying “I guess you’re going to ditch your family” and also that this means the rest of my family means more to me than my nuclear family. She also adds that this means I was lying to her when I recently reassured her I would prioritize her and her feelings, and says if I go then we will have to reassess our relationship. She then goes on to find our youngest and tell him “well dad is going to leave us this holiday”. Our youngest takes it ok after I talk to him, but after my wife talks to him again behind closed doors then he’s in tears. She also talks to our 10F daughter without me hearing, and the daughter comes up to me on verge of tears telling me “please dad can you stay with us”.
As final added context, my wife and I do have history in last several years of dealing with challenges of going or not going to family events. A few years ago my parents had a wedding renewal that was special to them and me, but my wife said it would be too stressful to travel and she wasn’t ok with her or kids going, and if I went then I’d be ditching the family, and I ended up not going. With another family reunion type trip she refused to go by saying it would be too stressful to pack and have kids adjust by two time zones before returning to school, and again ended up not going. This led to two Thanksgivings ago where she again said she didn’t want kids or me to go because it would be too stressful to go, and at that point I ended up saying I wasn’t ok continuing to miss these events and have me and our kids and whole family get disconnected form rest of the family, and that something I needed in this relationship was to feel supported in visiting and staying connected to family. That led to us going to Thanksgiving two years ago, and as mentioned ended up going to see my family again last Thanksgiving when it turned out her family wasn’t getting together.
To be fair to her stance, this history has created frustration and resentment from the rest of my family toward her, and while everyone is on “good behavior” when we are together my wife can certainly sense the coldness when she’s around my family, and that contributes to her general uneasiness about traveling to my family events.
So for this year’s Thanksgiving, my wife insists and won’t budge that neither she nor the two kids are going, and that if I go by myself I’ll be ditching the family. If I do go by myself, AITAH?

I am on a time crunch to apply for a college so I have a good chance to get in, but I haven't send my AP test score yet to transfer them into collage credit.
In the application, I hit yes that I have earned AP credit, but then I must fill out how much I have earned. I am not sure about how much I have earned because I have not sent in the credit yet. Not to mention im not even sure if im going to this college.
If I send my score to one college, can I also send it to another college, or is it like a one time use and the credit I get is set?
I have only just started entering college environment and I know little to nothing, so forgive me if these questions are stupid.

Looking for a book I read in elementary school (2003-2006) about a girl during the war era, she was at a boarding school I think and there was a bully character who cracked an egg with a rotten chicken inside at breakfast.
I might be getting two different books mixed up but I think the cover was light blue with a dark haired girl on the front peeking over a staircase?
NOT The Stars book (even though I loved that) and not Anne frank. Thank you!

There is an old game I used to play that I barely remember but I want to play again or at least know what it is.
I remember the game had a regular town at the beginning I think, and you could walk around and go to different lands. One of them was a horror land with a cemetery, one was a beach and pirates I believe, and then there was like a space land with aliens and stuff.
I think the game was mostly minigame focused and I remember there was a fishing one and one where you put out fires in the town.
I know this is pretty vague, but if anyone might know what I’m talking about I’d really appreciate any ideas! TIA
