2024.11.30 03:30 redditJAAAAACK How good are monitors without acoustic treatment?
I'm looking to be able to track vocals and also be able to mix my own beats. My plan was to get a pair of closed back headphones for doing vocals (either the M50x or DT 770s) and getting a pair of monitors for mixing (yamaha hs8). Will the monitors still sound good even if I don't have any acoustic treatment? Will I still be able to get a good mix out of them? MY room is about 13 inches by 10 inches and its pretty full with stuff I don't have much walking room.

2024.11.30 03:30 Front_Ad_8752 Considering on wearing an eyepatch to cover whatās giving me social anxiety
Itās more of a personal reason than anything medical or aesthetic. I tend to dress very fashionable and the patch will just add to it, itāll look natural. Idk why Iām talking about it but I just need to get it out. Idk I need something to give me that push, iām currently saving for a patch so once the time is right Iāll buy it. Iāve already been shopping and putting some patches in my cart so Iām pretty set on this. Iāve been suffering with social anxiety since I was 7 because of the misalignment of my eyes, it makes social interactions with the public incredibly difficult and uncomfortable. Iāve avoided social interaction all my life, my entire life ive shyed away from every single social aspect that I could get myself out of unless it was something like medical appointments, school, work, shopping at the store, etc. But anything else like working out outside or walking the dog-I just wonāt do it. Itās embarrassing and shameful. Everything about me is socially acceptable except for my stupid piece of shit eyes. Thereās nothing wrong with my eyesight-thereās nothing absolutely wrong with it. I can see just fine but itās cosmetic and thatās what truly drives me mad. Like seriously. It drives me up the damn wall. I hate them (my eyes) and I truly have a resentment towards them, it disgusts me that I was born with this and my family did nothing to fix it when they had every opportunity so now I have to endure the consequences. I considered surgery but I donāt have the money, insurance nor am I in the best position in life for that to happen. I also see it as a high risk thing because so many things can go wrong, I might get botched, my eyes might not even align or they might re-misalign and Iāll have to schedule another surgery after another. Iāve heard patients had to get two or more surgeries after the first procedure and I donāt want to live a life doing that.
The main issue is money, that shit makes me so angry so I wonāt talk about that anymore. But yeah, Iāve had misaligned eyes since I was basically out the womb and it has caused a huge dip in my confidence, i am never able to be myself. Some might argue itās a mental thing, and sure maybe but itās literally affected me from feeling like myself. Iāve never gotten to be myself in public. Itās so hard to explain, I can never bear to look ahead when walking, look up with my head held high and look people in the eye. Iāve been wearing sunglasses indoors for years because of my eyes. It doesnāt help the fact when I realize how often I get stared at without them, putting those glasses on creates a barrier between the world and I. Itāll be best if no one can see my shitty pathetic eye. Itās done nothing but look fucking stupid. I hate it. Even if I took therapy into accepting it it will never help. Itās such a weird thing to experience. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone else experience severe social anxiety because of their disability/aliment/medical condition? Or is it just me? I know thereās things we can or canāt control, I canāt control whether my eyes look straight or not. Thatās not a skill Iāve been able to master and I donāt want to because I know itāll give me a headache. So why not cover it yk?
