As the title states, I'm wanting to start dabbling in the smart home realm. I have one particular area that I'd like to address and then add in the rest later. When we moved into this house last year, my wife and I noticed that the master bedroom was consistently a different temperature than the rest of the house. (Warmer in summer, cooler in winter) I recently had the furnace and heat pump replaced in my house with a carrier Infinity, with their thermostat, because the 20 year old units decided they didn't want to work anymore. I had hoped the master bedroom problem would disappear but tonight its proving it's still there. What id like to do is put a booster fan in one of the ducts in our bedroom and replace the outlet with a leviton smart outlet. Somehow I'd like to be able to have that smart outlet turn on and off with the furnace, is that something possible or is the carrier Infinity thermostat as difficult to work with as I've read across Reddit.

I worked in a hotel and for the paat 2 months, I have been taking longer breaks like 10 minutes just to get a sandwich. There 2 times where i was still clocked in and only was away 1 hour and came back. I realized my mistake when I got caught and even offered to pay it back. There is a chance where all in total might be 20 houes of time theft. They only looked back 2 months and tried to tell me I was suspended so they can research more further. I knew I was over so I decided to quit. They didn't say anything about suing me and just accepted my resignation. They told me my last check will be next week. Can they still sue me even though I quit or they can only sue me when I was still employed? Also, is there might be a chance when I pick up my check, they might tell me to pay it back for the 2 months?

i am so sad.
my mom took me to look at new houses before i left for college (i’m a freshman) so i knew it was coming. i just didn’t know it’d be that quick. and i didn’t know my dog was leaving with the house too.
i didn’t know when my mom moved in. i just knew that when i went home for thanksgiving id see a new house. but i still expected my childhood home to be there. i thought id get to say goodbye. i also didn’t expect it to feel so bad seeing a new room.
it just doesn’t feel like home. it doesn’t smell like home, it doesn’t look like home. it feels like a relatives house. i came back for home, and this isn’t it.
how do i deal with these feelings?
