2024.12.01 02:37 unbreakit Trailer lighting: found convenient interior connection point in rear seat

I just finished installing a universal trailer lighting module in my 2023 EUV. I wanted all wiring to remain interior to the cabin for a few reasons: corrosion of exterior splices, allowing the rear vent to fully close (many instructions indicate wires are to be run through the vent), and the awkward external power run to the 12v battery. Oh, and the bumper was already back on....not taking that off again!
Long story short, I located a large wiring harness on the floor next to the driver's side rear seat. Remove the seat, and pull up on the weird plastic bowl that you find under the seat. This will expose a cloth-wrapped wiring harness. CAUTION: this harness contains airbag wiring! Disconnect your 12v battery negative terminal first!
In this harness are the turn signal, and tail-light signals.

Caution: there are multiple blue wires with white/grey stripes. Test each one to find the correct signal with a bed-of-nails probe or very small needle and a multimeter.
Power wire can run up the driver's side floor trim quite easily. there's a massive rubber grommet in the firewall you can punch a hole through to reach the 12v system under hood.
There are multiple ground bolts over the driver's side rear wheel arch.
The most difficult part by far was running the cable between the rear seat floor and the rear cargo area behind the interior plastics. I tried to follow the path of the wiring harness, but it was tough to fish through. There might be better options.

TLDSUMMARY Symptoms: Bitten lip, Eyes are big and dilated (but this is usually normal for him, hes a googly eyed baby)
Upon injury: licking lips, touching mouth/head with paw while tilting head, meowing weakly/lowly
After injury: back to normal after 10 minutes, eating normally, not acting ill anymore but he's indifferent to recieving some love (hes not going out of his way to recieve pets, nor is he purring loudly like he normally does)
Please let me know if this sounds like a minor injury, or if he needs to see the vet? I really can't afford to take a vet visit right now, but if i have to i will.
Full story: As the title says, my poor baby was trying to jump onto the table but missed by quite a bit, and slammed his jaw onto it.
it was so bad he immediately ran off and wouldn't let me get too close to him. he was crying and making little sad meows of pain, so i didnt want to just leave him all alone.
i sat by offered him a carboard box to which he happily jumped into, and then he let me get near him again after the initial scare wore off, so i fed him a couple bits of kibble to try and make him feel better, to which he immediately ate up.
he was licking his lips and touching it with his paw while tilting his head, clearly trying to soothe his pain.
that worried me, so i held him gently and opened his mouth to see if his jaw was dislocated or something, but he seemed fine, just a bit of blood/swelling from where he presumably bit his lip while falling.
anyhow, about 10 minutes later he was fine.
he's back to normal, walking around and sniffing at his food bowls as per usual, loafing atop my tissue boxes, and whatnot, but he's not in the mood for cuddles and pets like he normally is, so im leaving him be for now :(

November re-cap My favorite book of the month (and of the year so far) was Dark Days Ahead by Natalie Docherty. The author and book were new to me. It blends thriller, magic, and dystopia in a way I haven't seen done before. The premise—three women who simultaneously discover their own magical powers while uncovering a group of tech elites manipulating global events—felt chillingly timely in today’s world. I liked that it was set in the real world in San Francisco. It was a fast paced page-turner that I read in a day. It was a fun, easy read while also making me think about the role of technology in our lives and the future we're heading towards. Second place is The Life Impossible. I've loved everything I've read by Matt Haig, and this is no exception. It's probably my 2nd favorite of his after Midnight Library. He does magical realism like no one else. I enjoyed the setting (Ibiza) and the MC (a retired widow in her 70s). Third place is Intermezzo. Sally Rooney can do no wrong for me, and I always connect with her characters and writing style. While still 5 stars for me, this was probably my least favorite from Rooney.
