Everytime i try to evade a missile i get hit. but the few times i do is because i dumped all my flares and chaff
I do notch and it barely works and I end up in the ocean and I just want a dumbed down version of how to evade.

I already know that it wouldn't be like making foam with whole milk but I would like to know if a decent foam can be produced without it having to be with the barista vegetable that contains oil. It's my big doubt and I love the typical foam they put in bars and they make it with soy. What a dilemma, I can't decide on that. Thank you

I (32m) need to get this off my chest. About two years ago I had to split from my blood family because of how toxic and violent they were, which is a good thing dont get me wrong, I just sometimes feel the pull for them because of something.
A psyche told me it's because of Stockholm syndrome so it's going to feel that way. My blood family was more if a toxic matriarchy than patriarchy because of a few bad members , which again is understandable I think? Men are always belittled, yelled at, made to feel wrong, oppressed, to fit in line in a certain way, hit, spat on, etc....
Apparently I have Stockholm syndrome because of them. I know how wrong they are and I fear for the men of the family, especially the next generation. They're young and innocent and I worry that if they don't fit in line then they'll get what I got growing up, which still scares me.
Anyway, about nearly two years ago, my health got really bad and my blood family got really angry because of this. My partner had walked out due to a slight disagreement which had been building up and went to her sisters, which I commend her for because it gave us both space for a few days.
However, my family immediately did what they always did. Manipulate me to make feel bad. "She walked out on you and your daughter, she's not coming back!" And "your health is bad, let us take your daughter so that we can raise her until your health gets better." And another "you're a useless father and don't deserve your daughter!"
I'll add that because of their abuse, grape and molestation at that age of 5, constant years of neglect from my parents both emotionally and physically, never being talk right from wrong properly, and never been shown what a proper parent is, and years of being abused by the women in the family, I didn't know how to be a parent or stable person to my daughter. Something I regret and hate about myself terribly. Something I'm not correcting and have.
When I talked with my mil, who is an amazing person btw, she asked me if talking to my family actually helps me. I stopped and thought for a while. I'd become so complicit with their anger, manipulation and toxicity for so long that I felt it was normal.
My mil was mediating talks with me and my partner at the time because she loves both of us and especially for our daughter, so it helped. After she and my partner left with my daughter because they both felt it wasn't safe since I had blood family coming to town to visit and there was fear that they could come and potentially abduct my daughter (yes, they really would do that), I sat down and cried.
All my life has been horrible despite me thinking it was great. Now that I think back, the psyche was right. They stockholmed me and made me feel wrong or crazy whenever I pushed me. By simply standing up to them in the end, my family became enraged. Messaging my partner with abuse, threatening to ring cps, threatening to come to my house to do god knows what, andmore. All because I said no for the first proper time.
It's been almost two years since then and I look back on that day I stood up to my blood family and said no and severed ties with them, I feel both happiness and sadness. If I hadn't then I'd still be a dad who hasn't woken up, I'd still be stuck under my blood family's thumb, I would never have gotten all the help I have, and I'd probably be dead.
I've successfully completed emdr, gone through professional groups for self help, am getting good help for my health, and am stronger in every other way. I spend way more time with my daughter and shower her with so much love because I finally know what a good and decent parent is, I have a good head on my shoulders, I have my partner still and we're stronger than ever, I have my in laws who love and support me unconditionally, abd I know where I want to go in future. Helping children who are in bad situations.
So thank you to my mil for asking the right question. If she hadn't then I'd probably be dead...or worse

2025.01.18 18:40 Past-Kaleidoscope490 Hot take: I don't get the praise for the acting in the Brutalists besides Adrian Brody and Nivola.
I'm gonna say it I wasn't a big fan of this movie. However, I think the most disappointing flaw in the film is just not the story, but the performances. I really think Adrian and Alessandro Nivola are the only one to give good performances in this film. Stacy Martin and Rafael Cassidy are alright too. The rest of the main cast not so much. I do not get the praise Guy Pearce is getting for this, I thought he was ridiculously hammy in this. I'm going to blame it on Brady direction and writing cause it seem he was trying to do a literal stupid mustache twirling villain caricature of the "American dream is the really evilness of capitalism" for guy's character, and its way to heavy handed with the way the directed and wrote guy's performance. I can't believe people are saying Guy was better than Culkin in a real pain. Say what you want about category fraud, but Culkin is in supporting actor category and he deserves to sweep for a real pain, he was much better than Pearce imo. Joe Alwyn I didn't find convincing as a spoiled evil rich kid at all. Alwyn has never been a good actor imo and I don't think he has that much range and this performance proves his limited talents. Felicity jones though wow now I understand why she missed so many noms this season, she gives the worst performance in this. Very stiff performance that was not convincing at all even the end where she confronts and reveal Harrison as a rapist was very bad. I don't get why people say this was her Oscar scene, she is not good like at all.
