After staring a dynasty in Troy and staying for four years I am currently in my 6th year as HC of Alabama(Heisman default sliders). The last three years we have won it all going 15-1 every year. Our first chip and most recent chip in the three peat were both won against Kansas St. We have also taken the SEC title 3 straight years as no one is particularly threatening right now save for Florida (except out of conference) and Texas. Texas was our one loss last year winning with a td as time ran out. This year we were granted a cupcake schedule, two of the best coaches in the conference were fired, I hired a new DC who flipped our defense around from a production standpoint. (4-2-5 to 3-3-5). And my new RSFR Qb is an absolute stud. Texas beat us again during regular season in a 14 point fourth quarter comeback. We got our revenge in the conference championship game, yet with 4 losses they made it to the playoffs and we met them once more in the semifinals. It was a great game, tough defense on both teams. It was seemingly a very personal game on both sides. We’re stopping them from scoring and getting the ball a lot, but we’re only getting field goals all game. We’re up 19-17 with 2:20 in the fourth when all of a sudden they convert a huge 3rd down to get to our 23 yard line. I’m sort of shocked we were gonna lose such an exciting season in a game we played so well. I’m sitting back in my chair deciding how I’m gonna handle timeouts and such, when all of a sudden their qb drops back and throws outside RIGHT TO MY CORNERBACK. It was completely a Brett Favre nfc championship play. I was jubilant to say the least. The following round we’re playing the Fiesta Bowl against 16 ranked Western Kentucky. They’re ranked 16th but they had beat natty bound Miami in the regular season, and gave #3 Army hell in round one. Round 2 they managed to upset ACC champs Clemson (who gives us problems when we meet). All in shootouts. Their qb was him. Needless to say we ran the ball up and down the field running chew clock, we won by 2 scores. Now we’re facing Miami in our 4th natty in a row, and I sort of feel bad. Like it was too easy, and that we should’ve lost to Texas, and that plainly it’s unrealistic in any league to 4peat. Of course I’m gonna give Miami their toughest game yet and try to defend our title but Ik it’s not gonna be as exciting as our last 3. The joy I felt winning the Texas game can’t be described, but I didn’t actually expect us to make it 4x in a row. Ik it’s because I’m Bama but I’ve never signed even a top ten class while being here, tho I’ll argue my 2 most recent are my most dangerous ever. Anyone else get to a point you’re suffering from success lol? I’m trying to recall when I was at Troy, vying for our conference, hoping to slip in the playoffs at 12, then promptly getting our shit kicked in. I almost miss those days.

I don't have a lot of friends. The ones I do have live in other states now.
Yesterday, we buried my 26 year old nephew. He was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer lest than five months ago. It was aggressive and they caught it too late.
I am struggling to make sense of it all. I am still at the angry stage of grief.
At his service, his church was completely full of people there to honor and remember him. Literally at least 500 people, maybe more. So many people had such kind things to say about him.
It made me realize what a gift he was. When he spent time with you, you felt appreciated. It always felt like quality time.
I never saw him get angry, use foul language, or say anything hateful. Just always there with a ready smile to brighten your day.
He volunteered with several charities. He helped raise money for the J.D. McCarty Center in Norman, OK. They work to enrich the lives of children with developmental disabilities and equip them with resources and support to enhance their skills.
They provide medical care and physical, occupational, ABA and speech and language therapy for children on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
When he was 14, he and his father were at an OU home football game. A guy came up, all belligerent and telling Ben that he was in his seat.
Ben just said, "No, I have sat in this seat since I was 2." The guy got angry and before my brother could step in, Ben just said, "Let's look at your ticket and I can help you find your seat."
The guy was off by one section. Ben walked him over there and said that it happens to a lot of people. The numbering on the bottom level can be confusing when you get to the top.
Not angry. Not accusing. Not defensive. Just kind and helpful. He lived his life with a grace that I struggle with. If anyone he knew needed help, they didn't have to ask for help. If Ben knew his help was needed, he just showed up.
My dad, Ben, and I used to work on cars together. He'd bought a Jeep as a project car. Dad and I were looking forward to working on it with him. I hate working on cars. But I loved working on cars with him.
At his memorial, I told everyone that he was a better person than me. And he wasn't even trying. It was just who he was.
I just wish more people could have known him. He would have happily met them all and made them smile.
I am 53. He was 26. Half my age. I would have gladly traded my life for his. Taken all that pain to let him live. But that is not how life works. I was there the day he was born and the day he passed.
I have been struggling to write. I have been dealing with anger and depression.
I am going to get some counseling. I have learned long ago that if you hide your struggles, it leads to even worse things. My company has a telehealth counseling service that is free.
I just want to tell people that if something feels wrong, don't let the doctors blow you off. He went to the doctor and was treated for diverticulitis and colitis. It was colon cancer. If they had caught it just two months earlier when he first went in, he would have survived.
Medicine is a science, but what we know about the human body is far outweighed by what we don't know. They treated him for what was the most common thing that fit the symptoms and just didn't check for what could be less common or worse.
A simple stool sample (FOBT) would have found it. A FOBT (Fecal Occult Blood Test) typically costs between $10 and $50 per test, considered inexpensive and usually covered by insurance as a preventive screening. I just got mine.

I’m 17 and a senior in highschool. I’ll be graduating in a few months and i feel worried because it feels like i dont have any super close friends and im scared that once i graduate and go to college i wont have any friends. I have 2 close friends that i’ve known for a couple of years. We rarely hangout outside of school though because none of us can drive. I also have a handful of other friends that i’m close with but i only met them this year and we havent hung out outside of school very often, just a few times. I made tons of friends throughout highschool but it feels like most of them have come and gone. I used to hangout with people outside of school alll the time freshman year, but that friendgroup fell apart and i dont talk to most of them anymore. I just feel really lonely and im scared that i wasted all this time not really building any true connections and i feel so scared to graduate
