I apologise in advance if this is not the right forum, but I thought an actuary would be the perfect "souirce of truth" regarding my question, so here goes:
I came across an interesting scenario when quoting car insurance for my daughter - specifically the question around claims and accidents. All drivers (i.e. policy holder and named drivers) are asked a question phrased as follows "You must declare any accidents, claims, losses or damage that occurred within the last five years, regardless of whether it involved your car, motorbike, van or any other motor vehicle, even where you were not at fault, were driving a different vehicle or the incident involved a named driver (even if they have since been removed from the policy)."
In my situation, I have a clean accident history, but I was the policyholder for a policy where my daughter was a named driver. She was involved in a no-fault rear-end collision that was fully settled by the other insurer without dispute.
If I understand the question correctly, when taking out a new policy in her name with me as a named driver, I’ll need to declare the same accident for both of us. However, the quote process doesn’t seem to distinguish between me as the policyholder (not in the vehicle at the time) and my daughter as the driver during the accident.
This makes it seem like the premium could take a "double hit" for claims rating.
Having a software engineering background and having worked on an insurance quotation engine for a large insurer in the past, I’m struggling to recall how such scenarios are typically handled when pricing insurance. While I understand pricing models vary widely between insurers, could you explain how this situation is generally factored into premiums?
I was nearly tripped up by this, and I suspect many other people will get tripped-up, as we tend to think in terms of accidents rather than claims on a policy.
I look forward to gaining some clarity(?) on this!

I’ve been training properly about 5 years or so and I’ve done the bulk/cut cycle several times. When doing this in the past I was always sloppy with my bulk and ended up gaining excess body fat resulting in my bulk period being shortened due to being way too fluffy.
Currently in the second week of my lean bulk. I’m m24 5’9 and 175lbs and about 13-15% bf. My cals atm are 2520 with 185 protein. I train 5x a week with an upper lower x2 and then arms
I just wanted to hear people’s opinions on cardio while in a surplus, i understand the general health benefits but whats people’s routines etc? I hit 8-10k steps daily and will do 15 mins liss 5x a week (zone 1/2 incline treadmill).
Also should people stick to rest day calories on a bulk? As I said, I’m aiming to minimise rapid fat gain so that my bulk can be 10 months to a year wkth the odd mini cut in there if I get too fat. My query is that would dropping your cals back to maintenance on rest days hinder progress?

Jeg overvejer at lease en bil mens jeg er i værnepligten, da jeg ellers skal bruge omkring 2,5+ time på offentlig transport hver vej.
Hvad er jeres mening om det, og er der andre som har gjort det og været tilfredse/utilfredse med valget?
Det skal siges at jeg kan få leasingen til omkring 16k på de 4 måneder, bare for at give en cirka pris og noget at gå ud fra. Er naturligvis klar over, at offentlig transport er helt gratis, men var nysgerrig på folks egen oplevelse med leasing…

Please I need some advice after three different vets has said that it is time to "give up" due to suffering. My girl is so young, 1 year and 4months. But she has never been a healthy cat, she was found on the streets and I adopted her from a cat shalter that informed me that she had the cat flu and was so sick that she would probably not make it. I waited for her, hoping that she would live. And she did, but was really sick in the beginning of my care also. It's been challenging. Sometimes the snot dries up so she can't breathe and needs to use her mouth. On top of that her gums are really inflamed. The vet recommended X-ray and probably teeth extraction, but she got so much worse after the last visit due to stress. Now they don't recommend anything other than euthanasia.. my heart is broken for her. But I can tell that she is suffering and in pain. Doesn't want to play with her friend, dropping food from her mouth and hides sometimes.
I've read that in some cases the cat "flu" can be improved if the mouth health is improved. But how fair would it be to make her go through that when she hardly can breath as it is, if she survives such a procedure it will be a few weeks of hell and might only solve one of her problems. I struggle with the fact also that she does have good days or periods. But it seems this is where we always end up, one good week and then 3-4 bad months. I love her so much, but this isn't fair for her. Anyone been in a similar situation and have some advice? All bloodwork and test has been done and show nothing special, the vet doesn't think it could be a tumor or something like that because it gets worse from stress and comes and goes, just like the "chronic cat flu"..
