There's this guy(29M) who lives in my locality, who me(21M) and my sister(26F) found very, in lack of a better word, disgusting, most of our childhood. However, for the last couple of years we have fairly warmed up to him to the point we even have small talks if we see each other on the streets.
Now my sister tutors the nephew of this guy since the last year or so. Things had been alright between her and that guy, he used to ask her how his nephew is doing at his studies and my sister answers aptly, nothing outside of ordinary.
This is where things have gotten a little weird. This guy has been subliminally flirting with my sister on ig(she's told him she doesn't have a wap account). He's been asking her to go out with him somewhere, have some golgappe and what not. She was surgically trying to deny his advances saying she's busy rn but he's been incessant about the whole thing.
Today one of my sister's friend came at our place and when my sister was coming back after dropping her, he meets this guy on the street. He asks her to come with him to a nearby cafe, where they go and he starts talking about a lot of weird shit. Like he is not looking for anything "casual" and is very "serious" about the whole thing. He also tells her that he's liked her from our childhood and tried to get close to her but couldn't before. He tried to hold her hand with the excuse of seeing her ring, which my sister was fairly uncomfortable with. They come back, he drops my sister near our home and goes back to his place(he lives 2 mins from our place).
So this is it! My sister tells me all about this and I tried to act nonchalant about the whole thing but I find it kinda creepy too. My sister suspects that he's trying to sleep with her and she's totally repulsed by that idea(as she should). She had told me that he was flirting with her a week or so ago but I thought it was just normal teasing and shit but apparently it's not. She'd like to reject him upfront and bluntly but ofcourse she can't, it'd be humiliating to him and might just ruin both of their social standings in our locality, depending on how he copes with it.
So, girls and guys what do you think? How should she reject him.......politely that is.
Tl;dr: guy in our locality has been incessantly flirting with my sister. Sister isn't at all interested in him romantically and has always thought of her as an older brother. Now she's in a dilemma regarding how to reject his advances.

I bumped into my cousin, invited him over for a meal and we had a lovely catch up..
Only thing is he started to tell me about a woman who was pursuing him at work. He claims to have asked her to stop flirting on 6 seperate occasions that he can name. He went out for a works drinking do and got very drunk, she was there, she bought drugs into the situation and they all got rather out of their mind. He woke up the next day with this woman in his bed, a very poor recollection of what had happened, but was rather upset and asked her to leave, told her that he was uncomfortable with this situation. He goes back to work and initially she leaves him alone, but within a few weeks the flirting has restarted. He claims to have given her one final warning and said if she continued he is going to have to take it further..
During the course of this conversation, I come to find out that this woman is one of my oldest friends partner, and mother of his child, the baby is about a year old..
Since their relationship started, they had a child etc… so me and him drifted apart, but of course he is still a very dear friend to me.
I am now in a position where I know I could hurt my cousin, and ruin my friends family, and I really don’t know what the right thing to do is!?
I offered my cousin support and told him should he want to take it further I absolutely will support him with this. He is currently not wanting to take any further action.
Do I tell my friend what I know?? Do I keep quiet?

2025.01.19 15:03 BuffelBek Obligatory "just had my first game" post
The game finally, finally arrived in my country this past week. Managed to get my copy on Thursday and tried out my first game today.
What a wild ride.
Played it at 3 players, no L&L. As is the way. The first chapter weren't too crazy. I secured Material Cartel relatively early, so then tried to declare Tycoon as often as I could. Though I never managed to declare it as a first ambition, so didn't get as many points from it as I could have. Player B kept securing various Union cards and used them to get an extra turn here and there. But nothing too crazy happened.
Then chapter 4 arrived. Ooh, boy.
Player C declared Keeper and managed to get 3 relics as well as stealing Galactic Bards from me. I managed to declare Tycoon inbetween and then player C managed to declare Keeper a second time.
At this stage I thought I was completely out of the running. Players B and C were both in contention for Keeper and I didn't have any clear shot at gaining more relics. So I kind of resigned myself to third place. But then player B raided player C and got an absolutely godlike roll. Three keys, allowing him to seize 2 of the relics as well as the Galactic Bards. Player C was down to just a single relic left.
That opened the path for me to escape the humiliation of coming third.
I used my Silver-tongues to steal the last relic from player C, putting me in second place for Keeper while still holding on to first place for Tycoon.
Except that player B wasn't done yet. He used his final actions to secure Fuel Cartel, putting him in first for all the declared ambitions. Plus he had all his cities on the board as well.
It was utter domination. He ended chapter 4 with 49 power, while player C and myself were left behind in the low 20s. But on the bright side, at least I didn't come last.
Such a fun experience. Really looking forward to doing it again with L&L in the mix.

HENRY women, I'd love to understand how you balanced having children with career progression.
I am 33F, about to move to Miami for a job opportunity and do long distance with my partner in London.
All my friends are having children. I don't think I'll have children until 36 and want to have 3 children.
I would love to get views from women who have also delayed having children to pursue career progression.
Those charts from the Economist where women's earnings drop off after children while men's accelerate scare me, and I feel like I want a lot more financial progression and security before children. Equally, it makes me sad to think I'll be oldewill have less time with grandchildren in the future.
