 | I had the WORST experience with Deja Vu Tattoo in Ogden. For Christmas, I bought my girlfriend a $100 gift certificate that supposedly doesn’t expire until May. They don’t have a digital gift card system, so the certificate was just a piece of paper stapled to my receipt. We have a busy household, and the certificate inevitably got lost before my girlfriend was ready to use it. Since the shop has a digital payment system, I assumed they’d be able to find the transaction. I even called ahead, and a worker assured me they’d be able to locate the sale in their system and that the receipt shouldn’t be necessary. Just to be safe, I sent my girlfriend a screenshot of my bank statement with Deja Vu’s name on it to bring to her appointment. When she showed up for her appointment, they turned her away at the door. Despite the proof of payment, they refused to honor the gift certificate. The tattoo artist, Don Wills, was extremely rude and dismissive, making no effort to resolve the situation or even acknowledge the proof I had provided. If that wasn’t bad enough, this morning he messaged my girlfriend saying she was “super cute” and that he had been looking forward to tattooing her. HELLO?? Hitting on her after turning her away and treating her poorly is beyond unprofessional—it’s CREEPY and disrespectful. (Screenshot attached.) Could anybody give me some insight as to why regular carriers wouldn’t want their routes evaluated? There are multiple routes in my office that are super overburdened yet the carriers refused to have them evaluated, and instead just give away 2-4 hrs worth of pivots everyday from their routes because they can’t complete them within 10 hrs. I’m a CCA so I’m just genuinely confused. Shouldn’t we as carriers WANT routes that we can complete at least within 10 hrs? What’s the benefit to just giving away pivots?

I'm a senior fullstack dev with 10 yoe. I've been at my current job for about 4 months. The work-life balance was terrible at the start. I was talking to my friend about it, and he referred me to the company where he works. I would have been talking about a $10k pay cut for the original role, but during the interview, another candidate accepted an offer for the role I was applying for. The company liked me so much that they opened a senior role that matched my current pay. Now, after I already signed the offer, my original company countered with a $20k bump and 10% more equity.
Breakdown:
Both are startups
New Company
- Better work-life balance
- 100% In office
- Same pay as the previous role
- Referred by my irl friend.
- An industry I've never worked in
- Better pay (20k bump to keep me + 10% increase to my equity). I speculate that the equity has more upside here.
- More upside in equity
- Remote - Work from home or anywhere in the world really
- Flexibility - I can do stuff in the middle of the day. Requirements are that I need to get the work done, but it often bleeds into nights and weekends. This is important because my father is suffering from Alzheimer's, and we're about to move him to a memory care facility.
- An industry I enjoy

I've started to look back at my early childhood and notice things (like always being too sensitive/crying and never making friends even when i try, and never being able to express myself, physically or verbally? I am a 27M working in a NOC B job in Canada with 1 year of experience, and my girlfriend (26F) is in the healthcare sector. We’ve been living together for nearly 2 years, have a rental lease in both our names, a joint bank account, and shared phone bills for the past 2 years. We plan to declare ourselves as common-law partners on our 2025 taxes.
My girlfriend recently got a job as a Personal Support Worker in a different city and will need to move there for about 8 months. We’re targeting category-based Express Entry draws, where she’ll be the primary applicant due to her healthcare experience, and I’ll be the secondary applicant as her common-law partner. Together, we have an estimated CRS score of 467.
My concern is: will her temporary move for this job cause any issues in proving the genuineness of our common-law relationship? Despite the move, we’ll maintain the same address on our documents and keep our joint financial accounts active. Would the separation affect our common-law status when applying for PR?
