2025.01.20 18:52 hobby_dentist changing crankset on Marin DSX 2 2023

Hey guys, i feel kinda lost and dont know if i get all the things straight.
Right now i ride a marin dxs 2 2023 with 42T Chainring with 11-51 1x12 Sunrace Cassette. Inner bearing is BB-MT501.
Now i want to transition to 36T Chainring and (as the chainring is fixed on the crankset) I'd like to get a 165mm crankset. I didn't dug too much into the q-factor thing, but as far as i figured out, narrower = better for road bikes, wider= offroad. I want narrow
The only crankset + Chainring which is 165mm and is 36T coimpatible(according to shimano homepage) is the deore XT which has the drawback of 172mm which is preeetty high.
Overall the 1x12 cranksets seem to be very pricey, compared to 2x... drivetrains.
Can you help me get some combinations which may work out fine?

I found out my brother passed on friday, it seems like direct cremation is the best way considering the circumstances. he was someone who knew alot of people through his life but only was in contact with a small few the last couple of years. He was in an out of jail a few times and was struggling with a few things. Id like to do try to do a gathering for him but i honestly dont think many would come, i would guess 10 max, his daughter may not even come for instance.
Im trying to think what kind of small gathering i could try to do thats not a big to do so that it doesnt seem like alot of effort to be put in and not many people come. My mother does not want it at a church at all, so im really thinking if i should have a small memorial or none at all

I have a Goodman-Amana furnace (AMVC96063BNAA) with an Aprilaire 700 humidifier. When I went to change the humidifier pad, I noticed it looked good as new. After some testing, I found the wires going from the furnace control board to the humidistat have no power. The wires are connected to Hum-in & Hum-out connectors on the control board. I put my multi-meter on the them while the furnace was running and got no reading. There is a relay between the hum-in & hum-out — is it possible this is bad?
The simple solution is to get a transformer to plug into EAC and neutral so the humidifier will run. Before I do that, I want to see if I’m missing something obvious with the hum-in and hum-out ports.
