 | Hi everyone! I’m new to gel x and idk if i’m doing it correctly lol. i start off with dehydrator then primer. i go in with a thin layer of foundation base gel then cure for 30 sec. then i apply a thin layer of nail glue to the nail i’m applying so it covers the etched surface. then i use the nail glue to pool a tiny bit at the base so when i lay the nail down it spreads out along my natural nail. i don’t know if im putting on too much or too little of the nail glue because when i don’t put enough on the nail lifts, but when i put too much on it starts to come out of the front and gets on the tip of my finger. the first time i did this i didn’t notice it got on my finger and went to cure it. would doing this one time cause contact dermatitis? i’m terrified of getting it lol but it was only on 1 finger tip, and i was able to just peel it off right away. does it just come down to perfecting the amount of nail glue i apply to the extension?? pathetic picture sorry 😞 i usually just go to the nail salon and get acrylics done but im trying to switch over to gel x and don’t wanna develop an allergy. i’ve had instances at the salon where nail glue has hardened to my skin and i’ve never developed an allergy, but is this different because it’s specially gel? submitted by DumB1onde to GelX_Nails [link] [comments] |
2025.01.21 00:41 M240guy [Lorier Olympia] Finally got my Olympia!
My Lorier Olympia arrived this week and it really is a beautiful, striking little watch. I have a larger wrist, so it does wear a bit small, but it is so striking and pretty that it works really, really well as a dressier work watch. The pushers a tiny bit sticky, and the crown a bit scratchy, so I might take it in to a jeweler to have him see if that is just "new watch edges." I think I would honestly prefer it at 42mm, but mostly just because I do have a larger wrist. Regardless, it is very clean, legible and sporty and I am very happy to have it!

2025.01.21 00:41 KnownJacket2536 Are "High School Research" Journals Just BS??
I've noticed that there are lots of "High School Research" journals that accept only high school research. I've noticed that the papers published in such journals are kinda weird. One such paper I came across for example was whether folding paper balls increasing the density of paper...?
I'm a sophomore and my project for science fair last year was a cancer AI project. I made it to states but not ISEF. I'm ready to write a preprint in LaTeX about my project and wanna know before I start if I should aim for high school journals, or if you'd recommend I ignore them all together and look for undergrad journals / conferences?
Is publishing in one of these HS research journals gonna help my college app at all?? Or should I write my paper aiming for undergrad publication venues?

Clases de educación física con mi profesora son famosas por lo que hacemos allí o más bien por lo que no hacemos, porque usualmente no hacemos casi nada. Regularmente como una forma de actividad damos un paseo, pero esto ni siquiera significa que estamos yendo por algunos kilómetros o lo que sea, sino que salimos de la escuela en la dirección que conviene a todos y cada uno va a su parada de autobús u otro lugar donde quiere ir. De vez en cuando vamos al gimnasio, pero solo pocas hacen algunos ejercicios allí y por supuesto no lo hacen con mucho compromiso.
Sin embargo, hoy estábamos realmente jugando al uno de mis juegos favoritos, si no el favorito. Estábamos jugando al tenis de mesa. En el último año escolar solíamos jugar al esto durante casi cada clase, pero después según se dice alguien rompió las mesas y nuestra profesora no nos dejaba despelgar la mesa, diciendo que la destruiríamos por completo. Pero hoy cuando entremos la aula de educación física vimos que alguien logró despelgar estas mesas sin destruirlas. Nos sorprendió y alegró mucho, jugamos con mucho gusto. Por supuesto de mi clase solo mi amigo y yo estábamos jugando, el resto de grupo estaba sentando en colchones con incluso más gusto que nosotros. Otra cosa que es obvia es que de todos modos salimos más pronto de que deberíamos, porque todavía es una educación física, pues hay que salir un poquito más pronto para que todo sea en orden natural, por decirlo así.

I'm struggling to turn all the story ideas I've had into anything tangible enough to run with very far. I've got ideas for story setups with a basic conflict and arc I want to write. I'll create enough worldbuilding I sorta understand the universe, make some characters I like, decide on the setting as well as I can, have an idea of where the story starts and which direction it needs to head in, and...then I'm stuck. I don't know what to do with a scene. I'm stuck on how to fill in the context of the world that interacts with the central people and worldbuilding, and decide on a sequence of events that takes my character on the journey I want them to go on. I struggle to decide who says and does what, when, even if I have a basic idea of what I want them to experience or discover at that moment. I find it not nearly as hard to fill in details and refine if the play by play is set, but I'm struggling to get to the point I have anything to refine.
So. Any tips for going from idea and setup to tangible sequence of events? Both at the story level deciding what scenes you need, and within a single scene. How do you go about deciding what happens?

Long-time Momentum 2.0 Wireless user here. I had a pair from way back, and I blew one side using them on a mixing desk in a loud environment. They were replaced under warranty and I’ve been using the replacements happily since 2018.
About a week ago, they died and I get the flashing red light of doom. I tried a new battery but it made no difference.
At this point, I’m considering whether to get another (s/h) pair of 2.0 or 3.0 wireless, to go for a new pair of the 4.0 Wireless, or consider something else entirely.
Hit me with your opinions…
