I moved into a rental about two years ago. I live in a house that was converted into apartments. There are 3 apartments and I am renting one of these apartments, close to the city and rent is reasonable for the apartment.
Since I moved in, the landlord has done nothing to the place. When I say, he done nothing to the place, there is a hallway that leads to the backdoor on the ground floor. There are stairs as well which leads up to the apartments.
The past week, the landlord had a worker in painting the walls in the hallway, and our apartment doors. I got chatting to the worker and I think they said they are going to replace the carpet on the stairs as well.
Well, I am worried and terrified about this work that is being carried out and if this could be a sign of selling up?
I pay €800 a month in rent and the other two tenants have been in the place a long time, they pay lower rent, €500 each.
So the landlord gets €1800 for three apartments. It would not surprise me if they sell up.
This fills me with dread even thinking about it because how do I find another place with reasonable rent?
Rent prices are crazy all over and I would end up spending most of my wages on rent alone.
I saw a place advertised today in the countryside with reasonable rent, same as what I'm paying now but then it means having to buy a car and having the cost of a car as well. And while I would love a car, I'm not sure I can afford to pay rent and a car.
In reality, I would probably be looking at house sharing and this option fills me with dread.
Has anyone packed up and moved countries? Canada and Australia is out. So I'm looking at Europe or the UK, somewhere English speaking. There's not much options, is there?
I have a lot of things, for example I have a record player and records, I have a big TV, and a few more things that I cannot bare the thought of getting rid of if I move countries. I would probably have to put most things into storage as I don't have family that would help and come back again and organise to move things. Moving countries fills me with dread as well but it's probably the best option but where?

2025.01.22 00:13 MrLongJeans Is it a crutch and I'm lazy, or is the bullet proof on block psyker blaze sword blessings too good of a class specific not to run?
I'm getting better at psyker and historically used his force weapons so I can quell while I fight. On xbox reload and quell are the same button so you can't quell a non force ranged very well.
Part of my force weapon habit is I always run the bulletproof block blessing on swords since it is so durable on a class that's squishy.
But at higher difficulties the opportunity cost is starting to feel high if i stick to force weapons and that blessing.
So I'm wondering if the bulletproof block is meta and stronger than a dueling sword. And same for ranged. Should I stick to inferno or strike staff? Or run a gun that I can't quell with?

I just bought an iPhone 16 pro. It is super frustrating, the keyboard is really slow resulting in many misspelled words, I often get to menus (like systems!) where I can’t select anything, it stops scrolling; only option is to close it. It doesn’t fill on freeze but when you can’t select anything it is essentially frozen.
Anybody else having issues or did I get a lemon?

I could always tell that you were really something special. I even noticed it right from the start. The first time that I saw you, it was so clear to me that you were different in a good way. I know you don't even know that I saw you 3 times before you ever saw me and that I noticed you and I simply admired you for you. I could see the determination and drive in the way you carried yourself, along with the fear and anxiety of learning something new. I couldn't help but to hide a half a smile because I knew you were going to stick around for a while. I wanted so bad to help you out and try to make you feel welcome. The 1st time you saw me was something I will never forget. Your eyes grew 3 times their size and you almost froze in silence. It actually hurt me because the look on your face screamed pure terror. It was as if you had seen a ghost or seen something in me that reminded you of someone bad in your past. My heart sank with your reaction. I just felt like your first thought was that I was a bad person.
I never really got the opportunity to fully get to know the real you. I guess I'm just not really the type to go digging into someone's business that isn't mine. I figure that if you wanted to share with me then you would have. I do however feel like i have gotten closer with you in the last year. I never expected to be able to open up so easily with someone that I don't fully know but I am so very thankful that I did. A part of me feels like I was supposed to have that kind of connection with you at that time. I'm not sure why but it was exactly what I desperately needed to happen. I'm not sure if I would even be here if it wasn't for your kind words and your reassurance to my situation. Truth is that I was carrying so so much weight and guilt for so so very long at that time. I guess you helped me let go of a lot of that wich I didn't even know I was dragging around.
Because of that, you have become such a blessing to me as a person. I don't even know how I would ever try to tell you how much that meant to me. Now you are leaving and I kinda feel like I'm loosing a true friend and someone special. I know you have to leave and I actually want you to. I know that you haven't been happy lately and I can see it in your eyes and your face. I hope that as you go, you know that you have significantly have made a difference in someone's life. I know it sounds dramatic. But yes. Thankfully, I wasn’t kicked out. Otherwise I’d be dead. You see, like most graduate programs, if you have an 80% or below, you’re kicked out of the program. My program had five terms. I was on term four, and my neurology class had a huge final.
I studied intensively for that class. I really do care about my grades. I’m not just expecting to skate by and hope that I do okay. I studied every day for a week for hours. This neurology class had two professors, and one of them was new. It was very clear that they did not communicate to each other what was going to be on the final.
Everyone in my class universally agreed that it was a difficult final. A few weeks later, I have a zoom call with the director of the program. She told me that I was very lucky that the professors in my neurology class curved the final. Because they were not going to do that. She said if they didn’t, I would not be in the program.
It’s been two months since that zoom. And I want to die just thinking about it. I think I would’ve ended my life. I know it sounds dramatic, but my parents would never let me live it down. $50,000 down the drain. They used to beat me if I didn’t get good grades. They may not be able to beat me now, bit they’d likely kick me out of their home. And where would I go?

Hello, I don't have an asthma diagnosis but when I lay down on a surface full of dust my chest hurts like the devil and it is difficult to breathe. I was given an inhaler years ago but it is something that happens so rarely I completely forgot about it.
I had a similar reactions to ibuprofen and I stopped taking it because I was freaking out, now I am realizing it may be related.
Anyway, is late where I am staying, I am alone, there is dust everywere and I don't have any medication. What warning signs should I be aware of? Right now breathing sucks, chest and back hurt a lot, not coughing, no runny nose, can I just go sleep?
