If action is not taken quickly and if the population does not cooperate in energy conservation, the country will face planned large-scale power outages (load-shedding). The cause is the extremely low water level in the Van Blommestein reservoir. Power production at the Afobaka hydroelectric power station is approaching a critical point. Due to the exceptionally low water level, less electricity is already being generated. "The threat is very real. We will have no choice but to do load-shedding" - EBS Board Member Robert Pancham If the water level does not rise quickly, but continues to fall, turbines will have to be switched off. This means that Staatsolie Power Company Suriname (SPCS), the operator of the plant, can supply less power to the EBS, which cannot compensate for the shortage due to a lack of its own generation capacity. An insider source reports: "The water level in the lake has never been so low. Not even in the period that Suralco managed the dam". To the Ware Tijd, Robert Pancham, director of Operations at the EBS, confirms the seriousness of the situation. "The situation is becoming precarious, because the water level continues to drop. Despite the rainy season, we do not see any recovery of the level," said the board member. Pancham warns that the power generation by SPCS in Afobaka poses risks if the situation does not improve drastically. Further reduction in production would mean that the thermal energy of SPCS in Tout Lui Faut is insufficient to compensate for the dam's deficit. "The threat is very real. We will have no choice but to do load-shedding," Pancham said. Deliberation The EBS has already informed the authorities and is consulting with the government about the rapid import of emergency power generators. Pancham emphasizes that the regional scarcity of rental power, due to power shortages in other countries with hydroelectric power plants, is making availability more difficult and pushing up the cost of these generators. Nevertheless, the EBS has found a supplier. "However, we must not lose too much time and close the contracts quickly," says the EBS topper. The company is aiming to hire 30 megawatts of generating capacity. The lease of 30 megawatts of emergency power generators for six months is estimated at 20 to 45 million US dollars, including fixed (rent) and variable (fuel) costs. However, the company does not have sufficient funds to bring in the machines. Information The EBS and the government are in intensive consultation and Pancham expects a decision this week. Delay is not an option, because the intended generators may no longer be available due to waiting too long. The electricity supplier will soon start an intensive information campaign to make the population aware of the importance of energy saving. This is the only way to prevent load-shedding. Does anyone else find it virtually impossible to cook at home because of the smells that the food releases which may not be an issue during the cooking and the consumption of the meal but become unbearable when they linger for hours or days, especially if they get absorbed into fabrics like clothes and curtains?
In the summer, I would open a window in my dining room before every meal and would keep it open for a while after I finished, but I can't do that now in January with the below freezing temperatures we're having, especially because I live in a very polluted neighbourhood.
Furthermore, there is barely any food which won't release a lasting smell if cooked. It's not like only strong Asian spices emit strong smells - even basic ingredients like eggs and chicken smell. Thankfully pasta is relatively odorfree and also happens to be my favourite food and comfort food. Preparing food without cooking, e.g. making sandwiches with smears and salads with raw ingredients (without vinegar), is also an option, but it's too limiting if one wishes to have a balanced diet.
What upsets me the most is when the smell of food seeps into my clothing and remains in them until the next time I wash them. They absorb the most smell while drying on a clothes rack after being washed, because they're still wet, and since the weather is cold now, it takes them days to dry, which means that they have more than enough time to soak up pungent food smells.
How does the average person deal with this? Do they just not mind the smell of food in their home and in their clothes when they're not eating or about to eat? Or do they not even notice it?

I know this has been asked a million times, but I genuinely don't get it. I (F) am incredibly intentional with my time and swipes and would never swipe right on a guy for validation or for funsies (i.e., with no intention to talk) because I have WAY better things to do with my time than aimlessly swipe on hinge but it seems like the "grown" men on here pass time on this app by swiping mindlessly and it's such an ick because I hate every second I'm on this app and guys INTENTIONALLY use it as their hobby.
For context, I'm 30. VERY normal. Educated, have a really good job and have never ever had any issues with my looks. I have a nice body, and I have gotten hit on pretty regularly my entire life. The whole point of me saying this is that objectively, there is nothing wrong with me. I'm no model, but people do find me "attractive". I would love to put my profile on here but I am embarrassed to be on the app as is so I'd rather not put myself on blast here as well. I have pretty decent prompts chosen that anyone can EASILY start a convo off of, have pics of me traveling, hiking, etc, but guys (sometimes even guys who I think are below my league) will still not message me.
This is the 2nd time I made a hinge and the same guy liked a pic of mine. First time, I had to message him first because he wouldn't and then his profile got deleted (saw him with a "new profile" a couple days later). I created a new profile and saw him in my likes again, I "matched" back and its been like 3 days and he still hasnt messaged me.
This guy is a little older than me. I just dont get how you're nearing your mid 30's and on the app for funsies at a grown age. I have come to conclusion that either my competition is intense and there's way hotter girls out there stealing these guys attention OR I'm fully delulu about how "objectively" attractive I think I am but the craziest part is when I discuss with my friends I get the same shocked look with "HOW are guys not swiping right on you".
Someone pls help. Are guys just in their feminine era and want girls to message first? I'm really not about that life but I also don't want to be single for the rest of my life

Hi, may I know how long it normally takes for Mirtazapine to kick in? I'm taking it for both my depression and anxiety. I started this particular medication two days ago, and hardly can tell the difference. I think I'm feeling somewhat better on day 2, but not sure if it's working. I have a high hope for this drug because the SSRI (Olanzapine) I've been taking for 6 months isn't working for my depression anymore.

I just moved to Italy 1 year ago for my dream job. I don't have family, or many friends yet around here as I'm just starting to pick the language, but I did end up finding some cool people that I vibe with and hang out regularly.
Past 6 months of settling in, I (31M) went on a date with this woman (26F) on tinder, and well.. we fell in love. but since our 1st date, she informed me that she would be moving to Germany for a PhD position she just got - cool! we both agreed that we weren't looking for anything serious. That's where everything went wrong, lol. We just couldn't stop seeing each other, we kept dating till her very last day in Italy, we kept seeing each other for 4 months, hanging out every weekend. she even spent multiple days at my place, and I spent multiple days at her place. Things escalated to a summer vacation together, I ended up meeting her friends and even her parents.
Past to September last year she had to move to Germany. I was reluctant to get into a LDR, but she insisted that we could try making it work, so I accepted and asked her to be my girlfriend.
So far we've been "official" for 4 months and things are going great, especially because we made an agreement to see each other at least once a month, so the long distance doesn't hit us as hard!
Truth is that being far from her is killing me inside. I love this woman. I am madly in love with her, and I cannot stand living apart from her anymore. I sometimes just wish that I could just get rid of everything and go after her.
For contractual reasons I need to stay at my current job for 1 more year, but honestly... I love my job, I love my coworkers and I am happy with my compensation, which is something completely new to me. I worked my ass off to get this job and it breaks my heart leaving all of this behind. It is true that moving to Germany will definitely allow me better compensation and probably even QoL, but I love where I live at the moment, and feel like I am building real connections with people.
This is all very sad, because she loves the city where we met too, but unfortunately couldn't find any good PhD position... her PhD will last between 3~4 years, so realistically our options would be to continue in the LDR till the end of her PhD or me moving there, since I work in IT and could theoretically find a job easily.
When I first moved here in Italy for this job, I was so excited and ready to start a new life here, to settle for 5, 10 years or even forever! Now I feel lost and at a crossroads. Another important detail is that it's not easy to find a good paying job in the city that I am in, so this makes this decision even harder.
I am seriously considering giving up of my dream job and city to go start my life with her in Germany, but I am scared of the risks... This doubt is consuming my mind, I cannot stop thinking about this! I love her and I am 100% convinced that she is the one, I would do anything for her. But realistically I am scared that if I end up not enjoying my life there so much, I will become resentful towards her.
I need some perspective about this situation, would appreciate any advice thanks.

Ok so here’s the run down. In hs I never had many friends and it was pretty much just them around the time I graduated. We were pretty close or at least I like to think we were but as the months passed I just get annoyed by them idk why lol. Now when college first started for us in the fall last year naturally there was distance that was growing because of course they were making friends and stuff and I hadn’t met anyone just yet. However I would still interact with them occasionally and what not but something that would annoy me is sometimes they would come and talk to me just to talk trash about their friends, or even to talk about whatever guy they are dating for the week. It would annoy me sooo bad. However them talking about their friends is nothing new and they actually did this all throughout Highschool but it didn’t actually register to me that they are probably talking crap about me too until like the end of senior year. That’s another thing that so annoying about them to me now is that they talk about EVERYONE they hang around and then go right back to being posted up with on social media. This is also what really just irritated me so much. So just yesterday we were talking about politics, and somehow she got on the topic of vacations and future housing goals. I realized that everything she was saying was once the things that I mentioned but the thing is i remember when I brought them up she was quick to try and give me reasons as to why she wouldn’t visit that place or live in that type of neighborhood. I feel bad because it makes me feel like a bad person for being annoyed with them from time to time. It’s just confusing because I don’t dislike them and at one point we were super close but now I don’t really like talking to them as much.

I looked into it to see why I didn't catch their sneaky tactic and this is what I found: The first image shows the page you land on at check out. The button below the item makes it seem as though you have to press the button in order to subscribe and receive the discount. BUT....it is the opposite and you have to press the button to NOT subscribe, at least in my experience. THIS is extremely scammy and they will lose customers from this type of Gorilla Marketing. I have canceled my subscription and asked for a refund from the order that was just placed on the subscription I did not knowingly sign up for. In addition to my complaints, there are many other on BBB and other sites.The coffee is ok tasting but WATCH OUT if ordering so you don't end up with a subscription. It was also not easy to find the page to cancel the membership and i was asked about 5 times if I was sure I wanted to cancel. I also was scammed the exact same way with RYZE so I'm done ordering coffee online at this point.
