2025.01.22 00:10 Automatic_Pause8839 Need advice: Should I return my puppy to the breeder
Y’all. I’ve been crying all day. I don’t know what to do. We got a golden retriever when he was 8 weeks old. He’s now almost 11 weeks old. Within the last 2 weeks, he’s been showing signs of aggression. On random occasions when you try to pick him up, he will growl and show his teeth. Now it’s progressed to him trying to aggressively bite you. Otherwise he’s been good, he’s been to the vet, no health issues, he’s smart and potty and crate trained. Today he straight up growled extremely aggressively and tried to bite me, and he’s done it to my husband too. Yesterday, he was resource guarding and growled at my older lab just for walking by. And then he proceeded to try and attack him aggressively. I’m so heartbroken, we got our third puppy, specifically a golden retriever, for their temperament. I would have never expected this.
I don’t know what to do. We can’t just not handle him, he has to be able to get into the car, get on the scale at the vet. And if we want to socialize him he has to be carried bc he doesn’t have all his vaccines until early March.
I’m scared it’ll just get worse and it’ll become more dangerous for me, my husband and my two labs who don’t have an aggressive bone in their bodies. My husband wants to try and train it out of him, but I just don’t know. If he’s this aggressive and unpredictable at only 11 weeks, how much more will he be once he’s older.
We’ve tried doing treats when we pick him up but it’s still hit or miss. We try not to pick him up but that doesn’t count for the resource guarding and the aggression towards my adult dogs.
I don’t want to return him, we love him already so much, but I’m so scared that it’ll just get worse, and we’re planning on having kids soon, which worries me even more. Right now it feels like the only choice, especially bc we aren’t professional behaviorists.
I also want to add that he is from a reputable breeder, and we have all of his health records, papers, and his parents papers. The breeder said he’s never seen anything like this with any of his pups.
I’m sorry for the long post. I just need to get some insight on what to do.

ive tried cetaphil moisturizing cream and aveeno daily moisturizing body lotion and both times ive woken up in the middle of the night super warm and itchy. the weird thing is that in the morning i feel fine though, and there's no lasting effects... weird.
anyway i need recommendations for body lotion that doesn't have allergens/irritants found in these two. i also need it to not leave me feeling sticky or greasy, and i am so serious about this if i am the slightest bit sticky i will lose my shit.
(note that while i do have eczema i havent had a serious flare up in a long time, just figured the people here would be experts on gentle lotion and super sensitive skin)
