I am a sophomore in high school atm and I constantly get mocked and manipulated in the halls. Boys in my grade moan and call out my name to me in a sexual way, and when I look at them they just laugh or ask me something stupid like "do you wanna go out sometime?" And when I respond with "no" they just look at each other and laugh. I've had something similar happen to me in my freshman year when a boy named Lucas always came up to me and asked me to be his girlfriend while his friends we're recording me. It wasn't the first time he's done it so I told him to fuck off but he continued to do it. So I just told him to stop or just straight up insult him every time and he would act like he's mad then sit back down. I've tried everything to get it to stop but nothing works. Not only do they say my name, but they also make sexual comments about me when I walk by. I don't consider myself to be "ugly", but some might say otherwise. I may have a little above average larger nose that I've always been self conscious about, but I couldn't think of anything else really. I've tried to ignore this, but it bothers me and I don't know what they're trying to get out of me. Anyone know?

This rant is really about people that load this game up and get in a match just to f'ing stand in the spawn doing absolutely nothing but looking around. Not playing the objective, not trying to get any kills, just literally standing and doing nothing but f'ing bird watching. I just had 3 back to back games where one of my teammates did this. What is the f'ing point!? You get in a game just to handicap your team?? I hope your gaming system craps out on you for good. Okay, rant over.

2025.01.22 04:23 Living-Nature-1995 My bird passed away due to egg binding
I found my bird was egg-bound and immediately took her to the vet. At that time, she could still stand on her perch, though she was fluffed up and seemed tired. The vet punctured the egg, broke it, and cleaned it out. They prescribed antibiotics and said she seemed to be doing better.
Sadly, she passed away just 20 minutes after we got home. I can’t stop wondering if the vet may have treated her improperly. Do they supposed to break the egg? I also feel so guilty for not doing more research before taking her to the vet…

Hello, I'm wondering which blood test or tests would I need to get in order to figure out which prescription medications are in my system?
Basically as crazy as this sounds I'm starting to feel like someone in my household is messing with me by adding some type of medication to my food and or drink.
Yeah I understand how insane this sounds but let's just play along.
35M in decent health, no none issues until recently spikes and then drops in blood pressure, issues with circulation and bouts of dizziness. I am in a new living situation, moved in about 6 months ago. One of the other people living with me is well not to be insensitive but they are "crazy" and we don't exactly get along nor are we on the best of terms. Symptoms started presenting themselves after a argument with them.
For the sake of my mental peace I'd rather just get some advice on what blood tests I need to check my blood for prescription medication, such as anti psychotic and beta blocker medication as a example.
Hopefully this doesn't violate any rules and someone in the community can guide me to some answers.

Question, What if Jack Nance was cast in The Elephant Man?
Apparently, Jack Nance was David Lynch's 1st choice for the lead role of John Merrick in The Elephant Man but that either 1. The Producer weren't having it with Nance or 2. Lynch saw The Naked Civil Servant with John Hurt in it and decided to cast John Hurt in the lead role.
John Hurt gives a great performance as John Merrick and only 1 of 3 actors (Other than Diane Ladd & Richard Farnsworth) to received an acting nomination from a David Lynch's film. Though, I wonder if David Lynch decided to go through and cast Jack Nance in the lead role.
Jack Nance, is a very interesting actor to me, to my surprise, he was considered for lead roles in The Graduate & In Cold Blood and apparently, he actually almost got the role in The Graduate before they went with Dustin Hoffman. then his career really didn't gain notice until David Lynch casted him in Eraserhead. Nance also had a rough life, it still boggles my mind that this was the same guy in Eraserhead then 8 years later, he is so unrecognizable that you wonder if it's the same guy. It's also a shame that he died young and how he died.

The conflict between the patricians (the aristocratic ruling class) and the plebeians (the common people) eventually led to significant political and social reforms. But, looking back on it, I can’t help but wonder:
Was this conflict inevitable, or could the Roman Republic have avoided such a prolonged and divisive struggle?
From the very beginning, the patricians had a monopoly on political power, holding most of the important religious, political, and military offices. In contrast, the plebeians were largely excluded from these positions, despite being the backbone of Rome's economy and military. The plebeians initially had little voice in government, which led to the secessions (mass withdrawals from the city), the formation of the Concilium Plebis (the Plebeian Council), and the creation of the tribunes to protect their rights.
Over time, this struggle resulted in major reforms, like the Laws of the Twelve Tables and the Lex Hortensia, which granted plebeians more legal equality and political influence. However, these reforms didn’t immediately erase class tensions or eliminate the underlying problems of inequality.
So, here are a few questions to consider:
- Was the Conflict of Orders a natural consequence of the class system in early Rome, or could there have been a way for the patricians and plebeians to coexist more harmoniously?

I was using Duolingo for a week and added the family plan so that my wife could use it as well. It had been years since she had used it, so she tried to reset the language she had been learning. Regardless, it won't reset the progress back to the start. It still shows her on Section 1, Unit 11.
I decided to add the same language and learn it as well. I'd spent maybe 15 minutes in that process. However, my progress is now the same as hers, Section 1, Unit 11. There is no way that I'm anywhere near that far. We're both logging in under our own accounts with separate email addresses and passwords.
I reached out to Duolingo support and received a prompt canned reply thanking me for the "report." Within their reply was the statement "Please note that you are not likely to get a personal reply to this message." That was the last I've heard from them. Do they not have any tech support to assist users with issues? Have any of you experienced this problem, and if so, can you suggest a resolution?

 | Hi I printed over 20 of these pieces in each colour fine and they came out perfectly like the green one in the first picture above. Now for a reason I’m trying to understand I’m getting imperfections as you can see on the right side of the orange one in the first picture and the green one on the left in the second. The imperfections are both on the right side of the object if you were looking at your printer bed. The humidity in My AMS has increased and I did try trying the green PLA filament for six hours, but it hasn’t helped. The fact that it seems fine on the side where the chamber fan is on the left of the enclosure in my p1s. I’m wondering if it has something to do with cooling.
