2025.01.22 04:27 Regular-Surround-730 A Natty like no other...but maybe the correct way to crown a champion
Ohio State did not win a "Traditional" National Championship. Those "Traditional" Natties are won via committee, usually jaded sportswriters that are half a bottle of Crown Royal deep as they bicker and debate over the Transitive Property and Strength of Schedule/Conference to see which of the 4-6 teams with the best record stacks up the best, and they crown a national champ that way. Then the BCS era comes in with it's purely computer based system, then after that, the 4 team CFP committee consisting largely of pundits with a purely subjective view of the best four teams.
The 12 team playoff is different. Every Power 4 conference champ is in, the best GO5 champ is in, and a slew of at-larges that have proven they deserve a shot...all in. What do they do? Settle it on the goddamn field. None of this hypothetical, transitive bullshit is gonna fly anymore, looking at you Alabama. You actually gotta strap on the pads and put the ball down...you know, like every other level in the goddamn sport.
What Ohio State won was not a "Traditional" National Championship. No...what tOSU did, was essentially the College equivalent of a Super Bowl run. They ran a gauntlet of the best teams in the country...and dominated. That, is how a National Champion should be crowned. You SHOULD run though a gauntlet of the elite, just like in * gasp * oh my God THE NFL. Every single level of the sport has a legit playoff system. From High School up to the League. It's about fucking time FBS finally pulled it's head out of it's collective ass and got with the program.
And if you're a hardcore "Traditionalist" who wants to keep subjectivity and all that bullshit in the sport because of "Muh Tradition", I got two words for you: Okay Boomer.
We finally have a system that works.

2025.01.22 04:27 XL_Jockstrap Doing well in tier 2.5 application support, but getting bored. Where do I go from here?
Currently, I've been doing troubleshooting our specific stack/environment, configuration changes, writing automation scripts, doing a few dev tickets, batch monitoring, monitoring our hosts, handling the business operations, etc. Most of the technical stuff I do specific to the bank I'm working for, meaning our tools, libraries, monitoring software (other than Grafana), enviroment, etc. is specific to my company only. I have 1 year in and plan to start searching next year, so I'll have 2 YOE when I start job hunting again.
I've been thinking about my next steps. I'm planning to earn a CCNA, RHCSA, ITIL 4 and if time permits, Security+ this year. And next year I'm looking at the AZ-104.
Do I go for a general sys admin role? Do I aim for a network admin position? Can I get into cloud? Do I go for a more generalized IT Support position?

By "level" I mean select a higher skill. The only exception being the one that makes them cheaper.
For example, increasing the "Culinary Prowess" trait to 2 costs 88 copper per hour, for just 2% more from a dish sale.
My dishes average around 4 silver each, so I'd have to sell 11 in an hour just to break even. That's 11 in 60 seconds. I sell maybe half that many dishes at most.
Maybe my tavern is just too small and I don't sell enough since I'm new, but none of the perks have seemed worth the major jump in cost. I feel incentivized to seek out only employees with the reduced wage perk and not level anything else up.
Am I just doing it wrong?

I have plenty of hot water coming out of the tub faucet, but when I pull the little knob up to take a shower the hot water disappears and I only get luke warm water at best out of the shower. 2025.01.22 04:27 DJStar834 Small and Sincere Critique of the Planet X Arc
Putting aside the excitement of the moment, a few weeks after the finale, I decided to analyze and rewatch the entire Arc and I realize that everything was very poorly written and rushed. There were plot holes without solutions or that had solutions as illogical as they were incoherent, missed opportunities with the Rocky Planets, the irrelevance of Saturn, the disappearance of the Dwarf Planets, the bad decisions of the Sun, the hallucinations of Jupiter that disappeared from one episode to another... But above all, the poor handling of the Planet X character and how they rushed things too much to give it an ending just before 2025.
As an argument, I will say this: Go to the Video of the Arc of Planet X and you will see that X only appears in the second half of the video, rather the video should be called the Arc of Ganymede who had the most screen time, but X did not have enough presence and impact to be considered the protagonist of this plot.
And then, as the main conflict of the plot, which is Jupiter's absence, appears and disappears in the last hour; the plot, in summary, is easily divided into introduction, body, and conclusion. They gave 2 hours to the introduction until the conflict affecting the Solar System appeared, 1 hour to the development or body of the conflict, and less than 5 minutes for the conclusion with X forgiving Jupiter and leaving the Solar System, a bittersweet climax for so much preparation over the past year. If X was such an important character with such a significant role, they can't give him an anticlimactic, unjustified, or rushed ending because it ends up being disappointing. His ending was not proportional to his role within the story and the expectations from more than a year ago.
As for X's character, they ruined everything. They gave him a personality in Planet X Return and changed it in seconds without any prior development for Solar System Without Jupiter. They didn't take advantage of the wisdom he had about the secrets of the Solar System's past, which could have helped in his role as an antagonist or in achieving his revenge goals. They didn't give him a logical and sufficient justification for managing to stay sane during his exile. They exaggerated his evil gestures, removing the seriousness of the moment and his character. He had good motivations to be the antagonist, but his objectives to achieve them were poorly constructed (if he was already angry about Jupiter's orbital change in the past, why then, to take revenge on Saturn, does he seek to do what he disliked at first?). X only had 7 episodes within the Solar System out of more than 30 in the entire Saga. He didn't even have direct dialogues with the Rocky Planets, even knowing the truth about Theia, and his relationship with Proteus wasn't developed enough for the emotional impact on X upon seeing that he lost his only friend to feel real and natural, affecting all of us.
And finally, how are they going to call it the Planet X Arc if it never developed in the more than 3 hours of video? The fact that he is an antagonist doesn't prevent it; even antagonists can develop, but X changed his entire personality, his goals, his dreams, his everything in seconds when he left the Solar System and forgave Jupiter. Writers can create countless worlds and plots, but even among them, there are rules that must be respected, and one of those is this:
If you have a character who hasn't overcome a trauma or resentment from the past for millions of years, what makes you think they could overcome it and be able to forgive in just a few minutes? Everyone heals at their own pace, but they didn't ensure that the healing process was realistic, and that process involves everything and relapses. If your character is going to have a real trauma or resentment (the revenge), you need to give them a real solution.
And with all this, I don't mean to say that everything in SolarBalls is bad. SolarBalls has very good characters, good animation, good editing, good soundtrack, good voices, and good dubbing, along with a great knowledge of space and astronomy that attracts us all; it is a series with a lot of potential, but its only flaw, and the one that weighs the most, is its poor writing. SolarBalls has bad writers, and unfortunately, the writing of a series or movie is the main thing for telling a very good plot; having everything like good animation or good music but bad writing is being everything (a good drawing, a good song, or a good video) except a good story.

My north XL just came in tonight and, after reading a few horror stories, I was pretty nervous it was going to turn up a lemon. Immediately inspected it and: no rust, no messed up screws and/or bolts, screws were able to be screwed out by hand with ease, etc.. I breathed a massive sigh of relief. This is my first fractal case and it’s really nice in person.
Just figured I’d post for all the folks like me who, after parsing through a few horror story threads about north/north xl QC, were potentially second guessing a purchase. I might have gotten lucky but stoked to build in this thing this weekend!

2025.01.22 04:27 FoolishTeacher Help me with letting go
I did not realize it would be this hard for me to let go of the idea of nursing my baby but here I am. Rationally I know that fed is best and that the advantages of nursing are likely short term and small. I also know that pumping does give many of the same health benefits. I always said I would be fine with whatever method worked best, whether that was EBF or EFF (did not know about EP). Yet I'm still emotional about giving up nursing. I've always thought of myself as a rational person so it's very frustrating that I'm still wrestling with this.
I have low supply and baby is not transferring milk well. We have a good system of pumping and supplementing with formula. Baby is doing great with this and I feel less anxious being able to track how much she is eating. I really feel like just bottle feeding makes the most sense moving forward but I still feel torn about it. Realistically, trying to nurse is taking more time and giving me more anxiety, so I don't understand why I'm so resistant to giving it up!

 | Hello! I am an 18 year old girl looking to get my first tattoo in a couple months. However, I don't really know where to go. I have friends and family with tattoos but they got theirs done out of state/country or by people who are now out of state and I just can't afford to go out of state/country. I thought I had found a place near me but they charge a $100 deposit + $150 per hour and idk if the shop is really worth my money anymore. I do like the work that I've seen from the studio but again, the pricing throws me off. Don't get me wrong!! I'm not stupid, I know tattoos cost Hella money (especially in this economy) and I know I'll have to save up but that's more than expected. I would love to find a place (even if it's far from me but still in Mass.) that does great work and prices fairly. I have attached reference pictures of what I want.
