2025.01.22 04:22 Dramatic-Stranger-99 Two of the best MCU movies came out of Phase 4-5
I haven't enjoyed this multiverse saga era of the MCU. The whole saga is all over the place. One movie is going in this direction, another going over there and so on. Hopefully after secret wars they go back to the Phase 1 - 3 approach. The main movie contains the story for the character and the post credit scene pushes the story for the overall event.
But there is something good that came out of this saga. Heck two actually and they might be considered in my mind two of the best MCU movies in this universe. I'm talking about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Guardian of the Galaxy 3.
BP2 just hit. It was the actors tribute to Chadwick Boseman and they nailed it. You could feel them processing their grief through the movie, from beginning to end. The villain was great with an interest orgin. The side characters had their moments to shine. Okoye fight scene on the bridge badass. Angela Bassett killed it like usual. Ryan Coogler was doing his thing. Everett Ross just needed to be cut from the movie though.
GOTG3, mannn james gunn was in his bag. He finally leaned into the one thing that mad GOTG great that was Rocket. If you remove rocket from these movies well they will flop. The movie had it all: Action great, character development great and where he leaves them off great. But the most important part of the movie was Rockets story. It was messed up and great at the same time. Going from scared and naive to the character that he is today. The shit he and his friends had to endure damn. Also those character designs, damn those were creepy as f**K. The villian was an arrogant asshole and the actor playing him killed it.
These two movies deserve GOAT status in the MCU.

Hey! So I need a ton of help trying to remember a game my brother downloaded to our computer forever ago. I haven’t played it in about 10 years, so I don’t remember much. All I can remember is this:
Obvious cliche: you play the role of an adventurer and you start with basically no money, tools, resources, etc.
The main menu of the game has a lot of RED on it and I THINK has a dragon on it. I think that is what the red is on, but I can’t remember.
Style: it’s very pixelated and not good graphics. I would assume early 2000s to mid 1990s as the date. The game’s orientation is very much “Alone in the Dark” style where, to walk, you push keys from the perspective of the observer and not relative to your character. Played on a PC. I couldn’t tell you if it was downloaded from a platform like Steam or something, just that it was on a computer.
Random tidbits of details: 1. I distinctly remember a mechanic where you can stay at Inns or Taverns and I remember that the location of one is very close to the beach. 2. (This could either be my memory playing tricks combined with bad graphics) but I think some characters also were animals. Kinda like Skyrim but not.

2025.01.22 04:22 0zer0zer0 Warning: This is very much a "Dear diary" post. I'm just pretty sad about the state of this game's tone and it's community.
I'm sure for a lot of you, especially those of you coming from overwatch, this wasn't unexpected. But I'm just pretty disappointed that this game is already so competitive and toxic.
I know, "duh". It's a competitive hero shooter. I know it may have been silly to not expect it to be very competitive and "toxic".
But I was mainly looking forward to this being an imaginative game about marvel characters fighting each other without it being taken too seriously.
It's probably more of a me problem but man some teammates can be exhausting to play with.
Some games I can go 43 and 2, and stats aside make a lot of impact full plays, some games I do pretty abysmal, and go 5 and 15.
Sometimes it's just one teammate that talks shit an insist I switch to another role, even though I genuinely feel like I'd be more of a liability if I did, or the whole team just seems to be in a bad mood.
Idk if it's just my skill issue, or the stars just aligning but I can have a lot of matches where me and my team in general just get stomped pretty crazily, and almost everyone is just putting the blame on someone specific, feels like there's only so much I can do when I'm with a team like that.
There are also matches where the opposite happens though, our team wins by a landslide, and at the end the enemy team blames their teammates in the match chat. It's weird.
Like, I've had a lot of ranked games where I perform generally well, contribute, have good stats, 30/40+ kills, etc.
Then I get a match where I just don't mesh with my team well, or it's a general big difference of skill between me and the enemy team, and I do bad. Idk if it's the ranked algorithm giving me a match that's really difficult to perform well in to keep me in my intended rank or what. Which is fair.
If that's the case, it's still just miserable to do badly, and on top of that have your team mate, or teammates, insist that I'm specifically one of the main reasons we're losing.
Today I had some good matches, and two matches where the same player told me to never play ranked again, then later told me to never play my character again, after I didn't switch to a different one.
There's only so much I can do dude. I can't always perform amazingly in every match. The match isn't magically going to go our way because I switch to a character I'm not comfortable with.
It's just exhausting man. I didn't even want to take this game super seriously, I wouldn't even be playing ranked if I wouldn't have mandatory bot matches in quickplay. It can just sour the whole mood.
People say "erm...you're only gonna get bot lobbies if you lose several matches in a row so SKILL ISSUE".
Yes, I'm a normal human being. I'm going to lose matches. That doesn't mean I should feel obligated to play bot lobbies because of that. I downloaded the game to play an online pvp game.
I'm not even normally one of those people who complain about "sweats" in games, let alone pvp ones. But this subreddit especially has just turned into a community less about fun, and more about constant demands for nerfs, buffs, complaints about certain players, etc.
It just feels like this game wasn't meant to be taken this seriously, and while I say that, of course it's meant to be taken seriously as an esport, but part of that is because esports serve as one big ad for the game itself.

From being logged in to my Xfinity account on the website, I asked the chat bot if there were any promo deals for existing customers. It connected me to a person who asked for my name and address. After about 5 minutes my phone buzzed with a security code number which the chat person wanted. Is that a legit ask when all I wanted was to know if there are any promos? I just closed up the chat because that seemed odd to ask for that when I was already logged in.
