Did anyone else see the large set of perfectly aligned lights last night about 8ish? Maybe 8:30? Like a whole column just gleaming lights… I was by Kroger and witnessed a large set of lights rise above the tree horizon line… it disappeared as soon as I was able To see a clear beginning and end to this thing… Also, I was on the phone with a friend who lives off Abbott in East Lansing and she was able to see the lights when she looked south from her back door… Please, tell me someone else saw this spectacle!

Hi Reddit, this is my first post here as I'm desperate for answers and I'm really at a loss-- In the last month two of my WTF's have died because of some mysterious illness and I'm not sure what it is.
I apologize for the large paragraphs in advance.
For reference, I housed my 3 frogs in a tall 45 gallon tank. For a while they were on a paper towel substrate as it was easier to clean and I was worried for their healthy and wanted to monitor how they were eating and defecating. The paper towels got gross quickly so I've now switched them back to a repti-soil/moss substrate. They're properly heated with UVB and heating, as well as an automatic misting system.
My only guesses as to what it could me is toxing out syndrome, MBD, or infection.
In November, my frog Dobby, purchased along with another frog, started showing symptoms of being sick. Lethargy, anorexia, weightless, and frequent shedding. I was worried that if he was sick, he may get my other frogs sick, so I moved him to a 20 gallon quarantine tank. Due to the frequent shedding I was worried it may be a bacterial infection so I gave him daily warm baths with just a toothpick of melafix. But when he started growing too weak to even move to his water bowl and began swelling with fluid I got really worried and took him to the vet. The vet said he was dehydrated, had edema, and something was going on in his belly. The only treatment I could afford was an electrolyte bath and some syringe feed critical carnivore care. (I am 16 and work minimum wage.) Over the next few days he seemed to be more active, however I noticed occasional spastic extensions of his back legs where he would squeeze his eyes closed. (Toxing out?) and he would secrete a milky substance all across his back. I also noticed he had a runny nose and occasionally runny eyes. Also, as if it couldn't get worse, he would make a clicky sound when he breathed. Unfortunately he died a few days before Christmas. It was very hard as I'd not quite had him for 3 years. But that poor little guy did his best.
My second whites tree frog, Puddles, purchased roughly a year and a half after my first two and was properly quarantined before being introduced. A little after I quarantined Dobby both Puddles AND Jababy (my other frog) stopped eating. I was worried it had something to do with the tank so I thoroughly cleaned it, replaced the substrate, and cleaned the branches and such. After Dobby's death, Jababy is doing just fine now. He eats, croaks, hops around, and is overall very healthy. However, Puddles wasn't seeming to improve. He was now lethargic, still anorexic, and losing weight. He also started making the clicky noises when he breathed, started doing the odd stretching thing, and was shedding frequently. I tried to get on treating him faster than I did with Dobby and I gave him an electrolyte bath. He sat in that for a little while and I left him back in his cage. I later came to try and feed him and he was dead beneath a branch.
Again, my remaining frog Jababy seems to be doing fine now. I'm worried he'll be lonely given that he's never lived all by himself. He isn't exhibiting any signs of illness. But I'm now worried that he might. I need answers and I'm really not sure what to do. Dobby and Puddles' deaths devastated me. I'm not sure what I did wrong as they were perfectly healthy up until a few months ago. I'm happy to answer any questions that may help.

I’m in a shame spiral for the things I’ve said and done while drunk. The mistakes I’ve made. The people I’ve put at risk. Hurting myself and my family.
How you you work through those feelings? How do you forgive yourself?
I have been sober for 2 years twice. I know the joy that comes of sobriety. But being back here on day 3 after some dumb shit is making me feel terrible. I know that it will get better, but what do I do now to get through these feelings that are consuming me all day and night?

A year ago I was looking to upgrade from my HP Omen with an RTX 1080 to something newer and faster. I avoided building my own, as I thought it took too much time and effort for the same result as prebuilt.
Ive always liked the unique design of Alienware and brushed off the criticism of the company as online haters who were just mad they didn’t have one.
At the end of the day I decided on an Alienware R15. To be fair the PC has performed well, but my issue with Alienware isn’t in the performance, rather the absurd pricing. This will seem elementary to 99% of you prebuilders, but it was crazy to me to just go on PC part picker and design a much better PC for the same cost.
I got the one with a Ryzen 9 7700, RTX 4070, 64GB RAM, 1350W PSU(Why do they all come with that much??), and 2TB SSD/2 TB HD. All this came out to around $2900.
This was fine to me at the time, but I just went on PC PartPicker for fun and wow…Now I see where the hate came from.
I built a PC with a better case, 4070 TI Super, Ryzen 9 7900, 64 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD, and a 750W PSU for around $2600. (Yes it’s less storage but I don’t even use the hard drive and yes it’s not a 1350 watt PSU but that was overkill from the start.)
4070 vs a 4070 ti Super and a better CPU/Motherboard for hundreds LESS. One just has an alien head and some extra plastic.
And don’t even get me started on all those Alienware peripherals I bought :(
With all that being said I still appreciate what I have and will keep it for years. After that however…I will certainly be building my own.

No acting more confident or charming than you actually are. No pretending to be interesting, spontaneous, and exciting. No pressure to make them laugh.
No need to pretend to have interests that are cool/mainstream. No need to hide the niche things that you’re actually passionate about.
Just being genuinely you with no compromises, and a person loving you for that. It would be nice if that’s how things worked.
The world doesn’t reward authenticity though.

2025.01.22 06:44 Dilpreet_13 Capstone project idea suggestions needed (CS major + hardware)
So we need to make a capstone project for our undergrad CS degree. Its to be done in a team of 5 and over the course of 2 semesters (ends around last week of nov,2025).
The main thing is all 5 members of my team are taking a CS course, but form this year onwards we require to have a hardware component in our project, even if its small. (i think we even need to patent our idea too). So most of the past capstone projects are not doable as they were software only.
Having a hard time finding some unique and good ideas. Before you say this is a repeated post or just google, i've tried all that: - most projects on google are not long enough for a team of 5 and a time of almost 10 months, and they might be rejected when we pitch for them. - a lot of projects on google and even past projects i've seen from my college are mostly the generic ones like some sort of monitoring system, smart home, smart helment etc. Most of them are already been done in past years (mostly without any major changes cause a lot of people like to copy..). if you have any suggestions/addition to these ideas, please do tell.
Our mentor said us to find the idea on our own, so asking her wasn't of any help as she too had software only projects/research fields.
I don't wanna do a too much hardware focused project (robotics included), as we won't be able to make complex circuitry but we can manage smaller or moderate circuits.
Like one of the professor told us about the hydroponics project, its already done in previous yeard but he said you could reduce the circuitry size or add some AI magic into it.Having AI/ML or deep learning would be a plus point cause its a major focus of our degree and current times.
We have thought of some ideas, but i wanna explore some more unqiue fields or some real problems. Looking for something software focused but has some sort of hardware usage.
So if you have any idea, or a real world problem please tell, it would be quite helpful. Or just tell a field where we could look into. Or maybe a idea from your work/industry.
- Our college can and does give some funds if needed (~ 10k rupees), so if hardware gets a bit expensive we can manage. They can increase this amount if they really like the idea and its unique and more budget is needed.

 | I decided to purchase Volare's Above the Clouds after being pleasantly surprised with LW's scent and performance. Now I haven't had the luxury yet to try LV's Afternoon Swim but what I can say is that ATC opens with a realistic mandarin orange smell. It smells really fresh and fruity and dries down pretty similar with some musk coming out. Performance is decent around 6 hours on my skin and projects nicely for 2 hours and after that it becomes a skin scent. On the clothes it lingers around for 12 hours which is quite impressive for the price tag. Price is about tue same as LW which is around $25~ Missoni Parfum (EDP concentration though) is what I would summarise as a gentlemen scent. A bit citrusy and woody with hits of lavender wafting between them. Some people say that it smells like a barbershop and I can see the resemblance but it lasts long on both my skin and clothes.
