Hi! just rounding off about 2 years at a Peds ED after completing a bsn new grad program, and I’ve found myself to be pretty stagnated in my learning. Obviously there’s new stuff coming in everyday but I’m really looking to challenge myself and for a bit of a shakeup. Reflecting back, I think I miss participating in long term plan of care for patients.
So my question is, how hard is it to pivot to a general adult icu or another critical care specialty after having a fairly specific experience? I’ve been noticing on a lot of job postings mentions of at least 1 year of Acute Care experience, does that exclude EDs?
Is there anything I can do to make myself more competitive for these positions?

Is that doable? I have 500W base Xpress. I got it initially banking on using 90% of time for commuting to work, taking it on the train and riding paved bike trails but I took it off road a few times for fun and wished I had gone with a fat tire bike. I was sold on torque sensor.

Jeg læser Cand.Merc. FIR og har for de første to eksamener fået karakterer jeg er enormt skuffet over. Jeg har virkeligt arbejdet hårdt, men har samtidig vidst at jeg nok har taget munden for fuld og skulle have søgt noget andet. Jeg er desværre super-ængstelig og påvirket af karakterer, da jeg har store drømme og ambitioner (primært om et arbejde jeg synes er spændende, og sørger for at jeg går glad og motiveret på arbejde), som disse karakterer sætter en stopper for. Af interesseområder kan uheldigvis nævnes management consulting, M&A, corporate finance osv. deraf den store bekymring.
Kan i kaste lys på hvor galt det står til hvis jeg ender med et snit på maks 8. Hvor mange døre er lukket? Hvor skidt er det?
Jeg overvejer at lave et skift til FSM, som jeg siden jeg søgte for snart et år siden har set som et bedre match. Var i top 8% på min bachelor med et snit på 10,3, men ved dog ikke om det er nok til at komme ind der… Jeg håber virkeligt at I vil vejlede mig, da det på nuværende tidspunkt overskygger alt andet i mit liv.

Damp and mould problems We've been struggling with mould since we bought our new place in October and wondered if anyone can help! Budget is really limited and we would love to see if we can do what repairs are needed ourselves, however possible.we have some old UPVC windows (more than 25 years) There's a lot of condensation and high levels of moisture in the bay window. We thought it was worst below the window where mould has started growing all the way round and the walls weep and run with water at night if we don't have a dehumidifier running for a couple of hours a day. But in an effort to get to the bottom of it we've removed the plastic panelling from between the windows behind the mullions and we've discovered a thick layer of mould top to bottom on the back of the sandstone. There are these holes in the footing below the bay window and signs of recent repair, we're also fairly convinced the paint that was used to repaint it was interior paint as the previous owner said she would leave it in the corridor in case we needed it. We've been recommended to fill these empty pockets behind the mullions and trickle vents. But just wanted to find out if the community had any thoughts on what we should do and in what order to fix the mould, damp and condensation issues? Thanks so much in advance!

My (18m) whole life has been a battle with toxic masculinity. From my mom saying I was "the man of the house" ever since my dad died when I was 12 to small stuff like my uncles and male doctor making slight jokes about how I haven't had a girlfriend yet. All my life I've been made to feel that part of being a man is combating these things constantly.
I am a feminist now, though I didn't always used to be one, in middle school I went down parts of the anti feminist/ owned the libs you tube. When I understood how these view points were bad for me I tried to go the opposite direction so I spent a lot of time online in very reductive feminist spaces. Spaces where it seemed like being a man always meant something bad. I knew that women felt uncomfortable-unsafe and sometimes scared of men. I have internalized a lot of messaging and I fear that my self loathing combined with the terrible rad fem takes have inspired a hyper critical view of myself when it comes to male interest in women. I feel gross and predatory if i find a woman attractive. It inspires anxiety in me to the point I act in strange ways like turning my head to avoid looking at a woman in fears I might stare.
I bought fem clothes and wore them today. I got all pink stuff and it felt really nice! My thigh highs are comfy, my shorts feel cute and the nightgown is so fun! I spent a lot of time today just dancing and watching the nightgown twirl! I felt a bit pretty and a little joyful. This experience combined with my overall hatred of being a "man tm" has got me thinking lately. I saw a transition comic online, it was very short but it almost made me cry. It depicted a person starting to wear more fem clothes and coloring getting added to their life as they become a woman.
But how do I know if I'm not just trying to escape my feelings around manliness and I actually want to be a woman? I don't know what I feel right now. I feel really confused and I just want to be free of all the bindings of toxic masculinity. I've confided in a friend that I feel somewhat jealous of trans men because they seem to enjoy their masculinity so much while I feel trapped by it most times I guess.

I'm considering moving to Portugal as soon as I can get my documents together and sell my house. But the D7 Visa process feels a little daunting. I'm hoping to move in the summer, so my daughter can get acclimated before school starts. Even after asking questions on different platforms I just as confused as when I first started looking 6 months ago. I know I have the income to support me and my daughter, but all the paper work and what needs to be offical and what doesn't has me so confused. So does the application process. Many things feel.very cart before the horse like getting a 12 month lease and having a flight scheduled before having an approved visa. Also opening up a bank account seems to be a process. Just curious if any other vets have been though the D7 visa process recently and have any tips/advice would be appreciated,. Especially if you can ELI5 ans break it down Barny Style.
